The 2 issues are the front wheel can not be fixed as described, making this a 2 in 1 not a 3 in 1. The second is, the rear wheels are 18 inch and not 20 inch as described. BUT, this probuct is perfect for an on the move lifestyle with kids. Storage space is more than most. The suspension works well. It is easy to change from trailor to stroller. Park brake works good too. I got the red and black one, it is easily visible. This meets my requirements with flying colors and the kids love it. I highly recommend this product over others of this kind.

This product has been great for my son and me. We ride about 25 miles a week with it. It was easy to assemble even with the poorly written instructions and it is easily transportable. For the price, I am very pleased.

Trikke Tech T8 Series 3-Wheeled Carving Scooter (Black) Reviews

Update : You can buy this Trikke at Costco now for around $269.....

The T8 is my second Trikke. I purchased a T78 back in September and I am totally hooked on Trikking. I am retired and ride my T78 about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours a day. It is an all body workout and is fun. There is a learning curve, but once you get past that you can really move on the Trikke. I have lost over 13 pounds since I started Trikking. It will do up to 17 mph on flat terrain and really fly down hills.

The T8 is the Top of the line Trikke in it's size category, which will work for someone up to 6'5" and 250 pounds. It folds up in a few seconds, weighs 20 pounds, and you can put it in your car trunk, carry it with you, and store it in the corner of a room standing on end when folded. The ride is great, and it handles like a sports car. If you want something that is fun, and to get in shape for the rest of your life, the Trikke will do it for you. You will actually become addicted to riding it.

Lately there have been reports on one of the forums of welds failing on both the T78 and T8 models where the leg attaches to the Trikke. The result could be an injury when this happens, so you should always check your Trikke before every ride. There have also been many reports of brand new Trikkes that have loose bearings in the steering column which require compressing the column even on a brand new Trikke, prior to riding it. If you are not mechanically inclined, this could be aggravating. I purchased a tool from one of the dealers to compress the column properly.

I've had a Trikke 8 for about 4 years. I bought the T-8 when it was called the Convertible (it came with the hard plastic wheels but could be fitted with the inflatable tires it now comes standard with). After about a month I decided to buy the inflatable wheels--best thing I could have done. The Trikke does have a learning curve. At first I could not climb our driveway that barely had an incline. After a few months I finally figured out how to navigate a pretty decent slope. It was almost like a switch came on in my brain and it just worked.

I can't say that the Trikke offers the best full body workout that you can get, but it has got to be pretty close. I really don't know a single part of the body that isn't used. I can even target the upper body workout by changing the height of the handle bars. Once you get the hang of this thing you find yourself in a rhythm that is similar to skiing the slalom. The inflatable tires grip so well that you can really carve without the fear of a crash.

The Trikke is not the perfect vehicle for every location. It's really the most fun on relatively flat surfaces with little wind in the face. It also require a bit more lateral room than a bike does (tough to use on tight roadways without designated bike paths). I will actually wait until the afternoon winds die down and ride in the evenings on occasion. Early morning rides are also great--the workout will fuel you throughout the day. I went out and bought a Garmin GPS/Heart Rate monitor so I could maintain a good level of fat burning. It's easy...but I always want to go faster and faster.

The only drawback to the Trikke is that your riding will constantly be interrupted by curious strangers who want to know more about the crazy looking device. I even got pulled over by the police a few months back...the cop wanted to know where he could get one. No joke!

If your riding environment is decent, there is no better or enjoyable type of workout. The only piece of equipment that might be just as fun is something called the Elliptigo (). Check it out, but don't pass by the Trikke 8 on the way.

Honest reviews on Trikke Tech T8 Series 3-Wheeled Carving Scooter (Black)

I got one of these for my birthday, two days ago. I have been out practicing on it for short intervals throughout the weekend. It has got easier, and I occasionally get into a rhythm with it and I just go. I know that soon I will become more naturalized with the trikke, and that rhythm will become second nature. I am really pleased with it.

This was my second Trikke. We also have a T78. I bought this on the recommendation of a trainer who pointed out that although the frame sizes are very similar, the T8 allows more room for movement when the handlebars are raised to the proper height for someone like myself. I'm about 5'10" and I usually ride the T8 and my wife who is 5'4" rides the T78 although sometimes we switch for a little variety. Although the two Trikkes are very similar, there is a definite step up in the design and construction of the T8 which justifies the price difference.

Baby Jogger City Mini GT Double Stroller, Shadow/Orange
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

The City Mini GT Single and Double Strollers are new additions for 2012 to the Baby Jogger line. The GT versions offer some major improvements over the regular City Minis while carrying over the basic models' ease of use and simple design.

== City Mini Double GT vs. non-GT ==

The GT's main attraction vs. non-GT is roomier seats for your kid. The shoulder room on the City Mini Double is only 11", which the GT bumps up to 12". Max height on the GT is 26" vs. the non-GT's 23". Both double strollers offer 100 lbs. capacity. Both models recline to a near-flat position, which we use with our infant instead of a car seat adapter.

The GT's 8.5" forever-air tires allow the GT to competently handle grass and gravel. While they provide overall better handling without the hassle of filling them with air, they don't provide the same level of shock absorption as traditional air-filled tires.

The handle bar is now adjustable to several angles, making it not only more comfortable for tall and short parents but the GT can better accomodate the Baby Jogger Glider Board For City/Summit because it is easier to move the handle bar out of the way. The handlebar on the GT also has a handbrake vs. the non-GT's foot brake. The handbrake is very convenient since it is easy to see and takes minimal effort to operate.

The canopies on the GT have 2 peek-a-boo windows vs. the non-GT's one window. The canopies also provide better coverage.

The GT is roughly 6 lbs. heavier.

Dimensions (L x W x H):

City Mini Double GT ------ City Mini Double

44" x 29.5" x 43.5" ------38.5" x 29.75" x 41.5"

31" x 29.5" x 12.5" (folded)--31" x 29.75" x 11.25" (folded)

26" x 29.5" x 12.5" (folded w/ front wheels detached) -n/a

== City Mini Double GT vs. The Rest ==

There are a dizzying number of great strollers on the market now. The Uppababy Vista, Baby Jogger City Select and BOB Revolution Duallie all seemed to offer their own strengths and weaknesses. While the City Mini GT isn't quite as wide as the BOB Duallie, it is quite a beast unfolded. My main concern was being able to fit the City Mini Double GT into my very small 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid sedan trunk. My trunk just barely fits my BOB Revolution single stroller with the wheels on. The City Mini GT Double doesn't fit with the wheels on, but with the two front wheels detached, it is an easy fit. With all four wheels off, I actually have more room in my trunk than with the BOB Revolution single since the height of the stroller decreases by several inches. The wheels attach and detach very easily.

Compared to the Vista and City Select, the City Mini GT Double is simpler and less versatile. With the GT (assuming you have a normal trunk) you can just fold it and toss it in, whereas as most other double strollers will require detaching seats etc. While the simple reclining of the GT's seats works well for us, other strollers offer a dozen or more configurations thanks to those detachable seats. The GT would be great for twins or parents who already own a decent single stroller, but I won't be lugging it around the times I only have one kid with me. Maneuverability is an issue with all double strollers whether you choose one that's long (vista, select) or wide (mini, duallie). The GT fits through all standard doorways, but will be problematic in many stores with cramped aisles. The GT is not ideal for shopping malls.

== Final Thoughts ==

I am very satisfied with the City Mini GT Double stroller. It fulfills my family's needs thanks to its all-terrain wheels, great canopies, smooth handling, easy folding and relatively compact folding size when needed. We have a BOB Revolution SE Single Stroller, Black (as mentioned), Maclaren Quest Sport Stroller, Carmine Rose/Coffee, and a Graco SnugRider Infant Car Seat Stroller Frame. Thanks to either poor planning or a priority for accommodating our children we now have four strollers. The SnugRider gets the most use right now as we use it for trips where our 2 year old can walk or be carried and our infant is best left in the car seat to nap. The BOB is great for the beach or jogging with our toddler. The Maclaren would be a good option for taking along with the SnugRider sometimes, but will most likely see more use when our infant is two or three.

If you are just getting your first stroller for your first kid. I would certainly recommend checking out on of the other strollers mentioned in this review. Or if you are set on getting one expensive stroller to fulfill all of your needs, then you may want a stroller than can be configured as a single stroller. If you have twins or are in a similar situation to me, then I would enthusiastically recommend the City Mini Double GT.

I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 3 month old. I obsessively researched double strollers for months and ultimately decided upon the City Mini GT Double because I really wanted a stroller that would be relatively light and easily foldable, as well as all terrain to handle the bumpy sidewalks and grass in my neighborhood. The GT does deliver on these points! It is wonderfully smooth and maneuverable over bumps and can be easily pushed with one hand. It is 32lbs, but that's still pretty light for a double, and it feels lighter to lift because of the built in folding handles that you can also use to carry it. It is very flat when folded and you can take the wheels off to make it even flatter and shorter. It gets down to about 25" by 30" folded without the wheels and can fit flat in the back of my husband's Honda Fit! Also, the fold is the simplest and easiest around, although the auto lock they built into this model is decidedly NOT simple. The side of the seat gets in the way every time and I have to push, pull and mess around with it way too much in order to make it work. This is a new feature, so I guess it's not surprising they didn't get it right the first time. The other main thing that bothers me is the basket, since it is still not very easy to access even though they've improved it by swooping the support bar down. You can get a decent amount of stuff in there, it's just not simple to get it out again with out struggling with it. I'm probably just used to baskets that are much more open and easy to access. I did read about having to snap and unsnap the safety straps every time you use it and I was concerned about that at first, but after reading more about it it seems like that's pretty much a CYA kind of thing, more to protect Baby Jogger, than to protect kids. I can't see any way that the stroller would fold up while the kids are in it and I haven't used the snaps at all. One last thing that this stroller desperately needs is a parent organizer. I will be buying one of those as soon as I decide which one to get. This is my first time purchasing a very expensive stroller like this and it was a hard thing to do. However, if the ease of use gets me to use it more often then it will be worth it. Also, as someone else mentioned, these strollers retain their value very well on Craigslist and I plan to take advantage of that.

Overal, I'm very happy with this purchase. My kids fit in it well and it's a very easy stroller to use everyday. I would recommend it as an all purpose, easily transportable double stroller that will work great just about any situation.

[Edit]: I just recently discovered that it is possible to unsnap all the snaps holding the basket on and reposition it a little lower down on the stroller. This small adjustment makes a big difference in terms of making the basket more accessible. It's still not ideal but it helps a lot!

[Edit #2]: After using the stroller for a little over a month, one of the front wheels started popping into fixed mode on it's own while strolling. This is much more than just a minor flaw; very disappointing! I was able to get a replacement wheel easily enough through Baby Jogger customer service, but I'm very worried that this will happen again. The swivel wheel toggle mechanism starts out very tight on the brand new wheels, but seems to get looser and looser as it is used. I'm really hoping that this problem is not something intrinsic to these wheels.

Final Edit 11/12/12: I just wanted to quickly update my review to say that the wheels work fine now, several months after getting replacements, and I've had no further issues. I appreciate the ease and versatility of this stroller more and more every time I use it! One last tip that I can offer is to consider the option of just getting the double belly bar instead of the car seat adaptor. I'm sure it's not officially approved to be used with a car seat, but I've used it that way and it works fine. Most of the weight rests on the seat, not on the bar. Plus, the belly bar is a great accessory anyway. I love how it is adjustable! Also, get the BOB Duallie Handlebar Console. It fits great and makes the stroller even more convenient to use.

This is one amazing stroller! It is phenomenal, and I can't even say how much I love it! It is so easy to maneuver, and turns on a dime, even loaded down. I have a 3 year old who weighs 43 pounds and is 43" tall, and a 11 month old who weighs around 20 pounds. When I push them both it does not pull in either direction. It is so easy to push, even with one child weighing twice as much as the other. I can literally push it with one finger. The wheels are amazing, and are just what I was looking for in a stroller. They can handle the rough gravel around my neighborhood very easily. I love the larger seats. My kids tend to be bigger than average and this works great for us. The adjustable handlebar is amazing, and is NOT made of that foam stuff that gets easily torn. I also love the hand parking brake. I didn't think the hand brake was necessary when I bought it, but now it's one of my favorite features. You can engage the brake when you're in front of the stroller, which is nice. We looked at Phil and Ted doubles also, but picked this one because I need both of my kids to be able to nap at the same time. You can't do that with a Phil and Ted. Also, it strolls through doorways so easily. I'm always amazed at people's reactions when it fits through doors because no one ever thinks it's going to make it, but it does! :) As far as the cons, it is a little heavy when it's folded, but that's because it has a high quality frame and I would prefer that over having a light stroller. Also, there is not a whole lot of storage on the bottom, but there are going to be things you don't like with any stroller. Everyone wants a smaller, compact stroller, but with that comes a smaller footprint and thus less storage. Also, the kids do sit back a little in it, and it seems like they don't get a lot of air flow when it's hot outside and they're sitting fully upright. I think this is more of a heat issue and not a stroller issue though. When the seat is reclined even a little there is excellent air flow. All in all, it is absolutely wonderful, and I find myself looking for excuses to bring it when I go somewhere!

REVISED:

I have owned the stroller for less than a month, and like other reviewers, one of the front wheels started locking automatically. I was at the library and literally had to unlock it ten times before I got back to my car. I called customer service and they were very helpful and are sending me two new complete wheel assemblies. Hopefully it'll fix the problem and it won't happen again... I would still rate it a 5 because it's an awesome stroller, but if it happens again I won't feel the same way.

REVISED AGAIN:

I received the new wheel and have been using it for a few months now. I absolutely love it! It is an amazing stroller. We just took it to Disneyland and it saved us! Both kids could nap at the same time, it was a life saver.

Honest reviews on Baby Jogger City Mini GT Double Stroller

We LOVE LOVE LOVE our stroller! We looked at alot of different double strollers for a long time and decided to splurge on this one. I had a cheap double stroller (Graco inline) that I got for $50 (craig's list)that was used. I used it for a year. Hated every minute.

Reasons we got it:

One of the lightest double strollers there is both in lifting and pushing.

Pushing it is a sinche! it turns so easily!

Seats recline completely flat and the recline tool is slick!

Folds super easy and quick it is actually as compact as my single stroller. You can also take off the wheels to get it more compact, but we never do.

Can also be used for jogging (even though their disclaimer says not I thought it was fine it's more just that they have to say that for safety)

I like the side by side because our last one was a tandem (in-line) and whoever was in the back was constantly kicking the one in front of them...

This stroller fits in every doorway we've taken it through so it feels more compact

I loved the shades because they actually cover practically the whole seat!

We wanted a stroller that could fit 3 kids since we'll probably have another one next year to make 3 kids under 5. Baby Jogger strollers have an attachment that is like a skateboard that clips on the back axle where your 3rd child can stand on whenever they want a ride, or if they want to walk, you can just flip it up. Here is the link -

http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Jogger-Glider-Board-Summit/dp/B00318CLAK

My friend has the City Select, and although she loves it, I watch her hassle with having to take apart the double seat every time she puts it in the car annoying?? yes! I love how quick mine folds!

Perks for the GT:

Everything above fits the City Mini and the City Mini GT. We debated for a week which one to get since the City Mini is about $200 less... which is quite the big deal...

but in the end we decided to get the GT for these reasons -

the GT is taller and when we went to the store our 2 1/2 year old had practically outgrown the head space in the Mini (it was cramped) and if he still is going to be in it another year at least then we wanted the taller one.

the GT has an adjustable handlebars which are AWESOME at first I didn't think that was a big deal, but now I love them! Also the Glider board fits better with the GT since the handlebars adjust.

Cons for the City Mini GT:

The storage underneath is hard to access, however, I read on a review to unbutton the storage and move it lower which I did, and now the storage is good, I can fit my big diaper bag under it and tons of other stuff however you have to acces it from the side, because there is a big bar in the back. The first time I used it I thought it was kind of annoying and now I haven't even thought about it again until now!

There is not cup holders for any Baby Jogger strollers, which is also how BOB strollers are too I guess more high end strollers are. Anyway you can buy an attachment both for you and the boys... We haven't actually bought one yet but we plan too. We just nestled our waterbottles in the shade folds but not good for open drinks. For the boys we won't get one because we can just hand them their drinks and they hold them next to them, but for us we definitely want one.

The Infant carseat attachment doesn't look very cool... our baby was 1 when we got our GT so I don't have experience with an infant, but the seat reclines completely, so we're just planning on taking the baby out of their carseat and laying them down in it.

The City Mini has a bar in the middle of the handlebar which allows you to use the universal parent console to connect one from the side to the middle, however the GT does not have a par in the middle (due to the adjustable handlebar), but that also means we have to find a drink console that will fit across the whole space. which we haven't found one we like yet.

Over all 5 stars because we LOVE it and it was totally worth every penny!

We inherited a Phil and Ted's E3 after we had our second baby and used it for a while, until my younger daughter was old enough to realize that she didn't like sitting in that rear seat. Every outing we took with the stroller devolved into a crying fit as the kids would cry over who got to sit in front. I decided to look at the Sit and Stand strollers, but my five year old insisted that she wanted to sit next to her sister.

So, my side by side double stroller search began. I wanted to check them out in person, so I went to my local Buy Buy Baby to test drive them and I am so glad that I did! Most of the strollers I was considering had similar reviews here so I was leaning toward the Joovy Scooter X2 because of the price and good reviews. As soon as I put my kids in it and started to push it through the aisles of the store, we knew this was not the stroller for us. Due to the weight difference between my kids (roughly 20lbs) the stroller would pull to the heavier side and was hard to steer. We also tried the City Mini Double (Non GT) and the Britax B Agile. Those were both okay, but the B Agile skittered around corners. With the weight of my older kids, the GT handled beautifully. I could literally spin the stroller with one hand in place with both kids loaded up. There was also more head room for my older daughter than in the other models. We didn't plan to spend that much money on a stroller, but it was head and shoulders above the rest of the strollers.

The basket isn't great, but it is adequate. I have also read that you can move them to a lower set of snaps to give you more room, so we will probably do that. The fold was easy and the sunshade is more than ample. But more than anything, it was the ease of pushing the stroller loaded up with my kids that made it the clear winner.

good for mini-sized bikes (16") that come with coaster brake hubs. this wheel makes it a standard freewheel (spin on the back-pedal), which is great for having kids learn to use hand brakes, when they're available on that sized bicycle. In a word: it's an upgrade to the stock wheel on these little (junk) kid bikes. the sprocket is any standard threaded sprocket, and it does not come included.

the wheel came true. the lock nuts were too tight and needed backing-off a quarter turn or so. bearing grease was also almost non-existent. these adjustments are probably best made by your local bike shop, and are issues that happen to just about every pre-fab wheel of this price range. 20 minutes of adjustment, and your bike wheel is ready to roll.

Summer is approaching and I set out to buy my son his first bicycle. He absolutely loves trains and was really excited when we picked this up for him at Wal-Mart. Their price is only $35 compared to Amazons current price of $45 dollars. It did not take very long to put together probably 15-20 minutes. My son immediately jumped on and started pushing himself around. He can just barely pedal (which he does!) but it will be perfect enough in 3 months for this summer. He loves pushing all the buttons to make noises/play music/flash lights. The only downfall I had was that the box makes it look like the headlight would be a real light, which it is not. It would of been a cool feature! Overall, wonderful first bike for any little boy who loves trains. I am sure this will last him a couple years. I am very happy with my purchase.

This is an excellent tricycle for little Thomas fans my nephew LOVES scooting around on it and can't get enough of the buttons! I really like that it teaches direction. When pushing the turn signal buttons it actually says, "turn left" and, "turn right". The lights are fun and it was fairly easy to assemble. Some of the decals are a little tricky to put on. I recommend positioning some of the larger decals before it's fully assembled in order to get a good angle.

HOWEVER, I'd like to know what giant preschooler they had testing this thing! At 33 months, my nephew is in the 95th percentile for his height and he still cannot reach the pedals!!! The seat is up as far as it can go but he's just out of reach.

Overall he is really enjoying this tricycle and will hopefully be growing into it sometime this summer. :)

Very happy with this bottom bracket. Replaced the factory cheapo on my Diamonback Response and needless to say I am very happy with how smooth this bottom bracket spins. I have put more than a few miles on it already and it seems to be holding up great. Easy to install as long as you have the right tools (crank puller + bottom bracket splined socket).

I have a 90's era Columbus framed Marinoni that I rode back in the day which has mostly been gathering dust for 15 years, but I decided to start riding it again so started overhauling it. Some research led me to this Shimano bottom bracket as an update to the Ultegra loose bearing BB. This BB is available in an impressive selection of threads and axle lengths, including of course Italian 70x115. The price was right, delivery was as promised, the fit was good (though be careful when you install the aluminum non-drive side adapter or you could easily cross-thread it). Not the smoothest bearings I've seen, but for this price it's more than acceptable.

Best Deals for Shimano BB-UN55 Square taper Bottom Bracket

I bought this item to put it on my vintage italien "Alpes" bike.I have chosen spindle lenght of only 115 mm. in order to bring front crank chainrings 42/34/24, as much in line with rear Freewheel(14-28T 6 speed) as possible.I must say that my bike, built in 1958 was monospeed one and I did not want to "kill" it, since it was part of my childhood memories. That means frame was not designed to accept easily all this modification.

But everything went well, ShimanoBB-UN55 BottomBracket 70 x 115 Italien thread (36 mm)with alloy left cup, fitted

perfectly. Both threads, left and right side are right hand ones.

I could have bought 118 mm. spindle instead of 115, wouldn't be any worse.Front 3 speed derailleur only had to be adjusted properly to new position of the crank.

Now, it works perfectly with no chain noise at all, shifting runs smoothly too.

So far I have made only 100 km, but it seems to me that this bottom bracket and entire system could last for ever, or at least another 5o years!Very happy.

I ride my Sbyke all over the neighborhood and it gets a lot of attention. Teens pronounce it, "so cool!" and kids exclaim "oooh!" when they see it. One older adult asked me if I'd built it myself which is actually a reasonable question in my Burbank neighborhood where a lot of movie tech people live. As a full grown adult, I had to adjust the rear spring to it's tightest because of the uneven sidewalks I have to maneuver. It doesn't take much to steer it wrong when you're this tall. I've become quite good at pushing with either foot now, on sidewalk or smooth streets. Thankfully, I live where the streets are well maintained. It's really a lot of fun and I bought a small basket for the front which gives it a perfectly adorable appearance! It's a great way to exercise!

This scooter has been great for my family, well made, glides smoothly, and good handling. I bought one for my daughter (8 yr old) and she quickly picked up how to ride and has been taking it out daily ever since, really great exercise I recently purchased another one for my wife so they could go cruising together and she's loved it as well, I'm impressed how it's versatile enough for a kid or an adult, the old Razor's we had never really worked for anyone but the kids with the full size deck and 2 stem sizes in the box though it is for both a small or tall rider.

Definitely worth the money and a good choice for a kick-scooter I would recommend it to other parents or anyone who wants to make a long walking trip more fun.

If you ever dream of being a roller skater and bmx race biker, you can not go wrong with it.

Youtube and comments at Amazon have enough information for me to get started.

I have two recommendations for someone who's sit in office most of the time.

1. Please read the yellow label about putting air in the tire. The recommended psi is printed on the side of the wheel.

2. It takes practice standing on and making turn.

3. Take it easy.

Thanks for the beautiful machine which is appropriate for mother's day.

Honest reviews on Sbyke P-20 Patented Rear-Steering Scooter

I recently got a pair of Sbykes for my classroom and I couldn't be happier with them! They're incredible!

Let me tell you how it went:

The unboxing:

As soon as I opened the box, I knew I was in for a treat. As I pulled the three parts out, I was amazed at the build quality of the Sbyke. Everything has a real simple and solid feel and there were no signs of corner-cutting or cost-cutting on anything. The wheels, tires, brakes, handlebars, hand grips everything is really well made and sturdy. The first thing I thought was, "They sure don't make stuff like this anymore!"

Remember when toys were built to last? That's the Sbyke in a nutshell. This is a lifetime toy.

Assembly:

The assembly was easy and straight forward. The instructions were simple to follow and well-written, which seems to be very difficult for some companies to do lately. Within 10 minutes I had the Sbyke up and running. I was amazed at how solid-state the Sbyke felt after I attached the three parts (deck, front wheel, and handlebars). There's no give.

First Ride:

My first ride was short! Going down the playground I tried a turn and the Sbyke turned so fast (and tight) that I tipped off sideways. It was the kind of thing my kids and I love, so... Challenge Accepted! My kids and I started practicing and slowly we really began to get it. (Actually they got it a lot faster than I did!) It has a learning curve for sure, but it's a FUN learning curve. It rewards thoughtful practice at first as you try different ways of shifting your weight to get the turns and slaloms you want. Initially, you expect to turn the handlebars and steer that way, but it's actually quite the opposite. Eventually, the weight-shift steering becomes second nature, similar to what it feels like to be a good on a snowboard or a Waverunner. You become one with it and THAT'S when you really start to shine.

One thing is for sure: there were big smiles all around.

Tip: I got both a P16 and a P20 model and I'd say in retrospect I probably would have gone for two of the P20's. The benefit of the P20 is that there are spacers that allow you to raise or lower the handlebars to accommodate your children as they grow over the years. My kids are 7 and 8, and they ride both models equally well, but someday they'll grow out of the P16. I'm 39 years old and 180, and the P20 fits me perfectly, then I get off and a 7 year old gets on and rides it just as well.

If I were getting one for a kindergartener, I'd go for the P16, otherwise I feel the P20 is the best option.

Conclusion:

I'd like to commend whoever invented the Sbyke for using good old American craftsmanship and engineering and coming up with a completely new option for `family' vehicles. Anything that gets kids outside and moving is a good thing in my book.

Simply put, the Sbyke is a real crowd-pleaser and an all-around good time for everyone.

My kids and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it!

I bought two sets of these, one for my bike and one for the wife's bike. Assembly took a total of less than 10 minutes, including adjusting the rear fender for optimal position.

The flared ends really catch a lot of water and crap that many other fenders might miss. The ends are made from a soft rubberized transparent plastic, which is also pretty cool, they toss small gravel, rocks, water and mud aside pretty efficiently. Assembly and adjustment is performed with a hex wrench, but once you get them on, they stay in place. My previous fender required constant re-adjustment, so it's nice to see someone get the design right.

Fenders are very easy to install. Easy to take off when not needed and durable for long use. With the flared ends it catches alot of water other fenders don't. Good price for a fender set such as these!

Installation was a snap. They work as intended.

I ride a 2010 P1 jump bike I also use as a commuter. I picked these up to keep from getting splashed when riding conditions are wet. they are easily removed when I go out to the skate park, hit The jumps, or shred urban (though I leave them on for urban assault when its wet out). I swap them from my P1 to my Rat Rod (which is fenderless) when the wife and I go cruising together after it rains. Though I have not actually tried other products like this I have to say I believe they are amongst the best if not THE best I have seen.

Honest reviews on Topeak DeFender M1 & M2 Mountain Bike Fender Set (26-Inch Wheels)

Product looks great. rear fender fits and works great. one downside i found was the quick release collar for the seat post. it works great, but at the same time it will work great being removed by anybody else if you keep your bike locked up. front fender does not fit the fork i currently have, but i had planned to install a new one before i bought the product, so it's not a problem for me. a front brake mounted alternative would be very nice. although the fork i'm planning on has no bosses for brakes other than disc.

This set of fenders are easily mounted. The front fender comes w/ a removable outer wedge to use on smaller whole opening under the front fork and the rear fender is adjustable. No instructions needed if you're a handy type of person.Well worth the extra money than the cheaper fenders that can become warped in shipping. Sturdy, built to last and not flimsy.

I got these for my bike around campus because I was afraid my quick release attracted thieves. These skewers work great.

Product arrived on time, and nicely packed. Front and seat post skewers fits fine, however the rear skewer was TOO SHORT for a 2013 Diamondback Insight 1. Someone else mentioned that it was too short for a Giant as well. I can confirm that all the skewers are long enough for a 2010 Trek 7100.

Best Deals for Evo 3Pc Skewer Set - Fr, Rr, Seat

All of the experts recommend the removal of the quick release levers from the saddle and wheels and these do serve their purpose. The rear axle skewer was too short ( Giant Bicycles ). Guess we'll have to risk it.

Honest reviews on Evo 3Pc Skewer Set - Fr, Rr, Seat

My son needed a set of these skewers for his bike when he went off to college, since he had quick release for both axles and seat, and that is just too risky. These were simple to install and although they don't actually lock, it is definitely more trouble to remove these than the quick release type, and for the price, they fit our need perfectly.

As an apartment dweller I was so pleased to find this (thanks Sky Mall magazine for the idea, but bigger thanks to Amazon for having it at a great price with super saver shipping too). To be honest I was skeptical as to how sturdy this product would be and as to how much of a workout it would give. I have not been disappointed at all and in fact more pleased than I thought I'd be.

It was easy to assemble, but must say that the instruction manual gives WAY too many diagrams of parts, etc. that aren't needed to assemble it and makes it look more intimidating to assemble than it really is. It comes with a wrench and Phillips head screwdriver/Allen wrench and that's all you'll need. It took me about 45 minutes to assemble, but had the instructions been simpler it would have been more like 30 minutes. I keep the tools handy and check the assembly points from time to time and give it a little snugging up, but it's not as if the bolts are really loose. It's just me being a tradesman's daughter and raised with the idea of preventive maintenance. It compacts and moves easily with the small wheels on the back I can move it with one hand.

And as far as getting a really good workout on this bike is concerned, by the time I'm hitting levels 4 and 5 I'm really feeling it and need to have a small hand towel nearby to use along with about 24 oz of water for a 60 minute workout. I typically cycle about 1500 miles each year so it's not as if I'm just starting to incorporate bikes into my fitness routine. The seat is very comfortable and the back support is wonderful. I don't find myself dreading the idea of finally getting to 60 minutes because of the comfortable seat and back. It's so quiet to the point that you don't have to raise your TV volume if you like to work out that way and if others are sleeping you don't have to worry about waking them up due to noise.

I've found most home exercise equipment computers to be relatively unreliable. Caloric burn depends on body weight and other factors that you can't program in (versus higher end bikes at a gym) so you can't really rely on that. The pulse function is somewhat accurate, though I find it to be about 10-15 beats higher per minute than what my pulse rate really is. Better to rely on an analog clock for 15 seconds x4 to figure that one out, but the computer gives a general idea. I simply keep it on the timer function which is accurate.

I recognize that as a piece of home fitness equipment with a relatively low cost (compared to gym level equipment) that it may only last a couple of years. That being said, it is easily much more cost effective than a gym membership even if you had to replace it every couple of years, esp. if you have other fitness equipment at home you can use to cross train and vary your workouts. Highly recommended!

Update: January 2012 still loving it. Continues to operate quietly and smoothly. I continue to check the assembly points on a weekly basis and snug them up as needed with the enclosed tools.

Update: Mid-March 2012 due to the mild winter in the Northeast it's cycling season already! I was able to do my first ride of the season in the same amount of time it took to do the same ride at the end of last year by using this bike during the winter months. Since it's a different design vs. a road bike I was wondering if the right muscles would be conditioned and was happily surprised to find that they were. I cannot begin to emphasize how pleased I continue to be with this product.

MEASUREMENTS WHEN COMPACTED: Back leg to front leg about 20", back leg to the frontmost part about 27", widest point (handgrips) about 24", height about 47". The footprint of this unit when compacted is about the same as a standard kitchen chair.

I have used this for a couple of days now and I believe there wont be any more surprises.

Pros:

Functions great is a great exercise bike, without the front handle bar i can watch TV, play a game, or use a tray table to use a laptop.

Quiet i can use this right next to the wife while watching TV, its practically silent.

Small Folds into smallest footprint I've seen on a bike.

Sturdy pieces went together firmly and the whole thing feels stout (I am 245lbs and it doesn't feel flimsy under me)

Cons:

Material quality while everything went together well, and the frame is well made, the plastic housing on the gearbox came cracked in a few spots and the back has stitching coming loose.

Awkward moving When folded up, it can be a bit awkward to move around.

On the whole I am pleased with the unit, and it would get a perfect score if not for the minor blemishes in the cheap parts. Time will tell if anything starts to fall apart (could see the seat coming off its base plate).

Best Deals for Exerpeutic 400XL Folding Recumbent Bike

After two years of suffering at the gym, I got nothing out of it but aches and pains. But with this bike, you can just sit and watch TV and work up a heavy sweat. I was a bit concerned when I ordered it that it would be too easy and not be a real workout, but it absolutely is. Your back stays comfortable, there's no stress on your joints, but your muscles get as much of a workout as they need. You can get on and off it so easily that I will weave little mini workouts right into my day. I wish I got it sooner.

Honest reviews on Exerpeutic 400XL Folding Recumbent Bike

I had been looking for a convenient way to exercise in the winter without going to stuffy gyms and was gifted this bike for Christmas. The main attractions for me were its price, its high ratings, and its features.

Assembly was not as easy as advertised. I was impressed by the high quality of the parts, but dismayed at the low quality of instruction. It was almost laughable as I attempted to assemble the bike at 10pm. Your common sense will prove more helpful than the instructions. Overall, it took about 2 hours to assemble. You only need patience and the tools included nothing more.

So far, I have ridden about 30 miles on it. It is EXTREMELY quiet and easy to use. There are eight tension settings and even though I haven't exercised consistently for some time, level 6 is the most productive setting for me. Levels 1-4 are practically warm-up settings. Six gets the heart rate up nicely and gets the legs burning. The computer is exceedingly simple and has a SCAN settings that displays all different metrics Odometer, Trip, Calories, Speed (mph, not rpm), and Time or allows you to stop on one. Reset a metric as necessary by holding the one button on the computer. My one slight annoyance (being a numbers nerd) is that the bike does not reset the Trip or Calories counters with each use. If you want to track your miles with each use, you need to reset them.

The pulse meter is a bit flaky. Strangely, it requires that you hold on for some time as it works its way up to your actual pulse, starting in the 70s and working its way up. Sometimes it's just plain wrong. Keep your hands as dry as possible and you will increase the likelihood that your pulse is accurate.

Folding up the bike is easy. Just remove a pin and the bike stands up, saving considerable floorspace. When folded, resist the urge to use as a clothes-hanger.

The only thing keeping me from issuing a 5-star rating is its height limit. I am 6'2" tall. The Exerpeutic 300SR product description says that it is for people up to this height. While it is big enough for me to get the heart rate up for a considerable amount of time, I could certainly use a few more inches of leg extension. I have the legs of an NBA power forward and the torso of a lunchlady...but if you're a tall person, aim for a bigger bike if possible.

Overall, a terrific alternative to frostbitten running, sweaty gyms, or getting fat. Get this bike!

I'm not going to say I did a lot of research for exercise bikes but I did search for a lot of the cheap but reliable bikes. There are SO many bikes with SO many good and bad reviews. Some say get the more expensive, some say this is too cheap, some hate every bike. This was the only bike I saw at this price with this many positive reviews. My other option was this 120 buck bike from walmart but the shipping made it equal, price wise, to this bike. I have a prime membership, so as usual, Amazon won the bid and 1 day shipping was only 3.99 compared to 25 extra dollars.

Got the bike, took about an hr to assemble the bike with all of its own tools provided, rode the bike. I really love the passivity of riding a bike right in front of my LCD. Watched "knockaround guys" as I rode an hr on the bike. The resistance can definitely work you and the convenience will make you feel all better...until the next morn. Cheaper than a gym, which I almost signed up for bc I was desperate, not as good as an elliptical, but in the end, more convenient than any other solution I tried to think of. I just wanna work out w.o thinking. I have at least 5 workout dvds, I just dont always want to work out in that manner. Cheap but solid, buy this bike. Return it if you dont like it

1 last thing...the seat is adjustable. This is easy to forget. I worked out 3 days with no adjustment. I'm 6 feet tall. OUCH. There's a door knob like piece that is by itself in a plastic wrap, that keeps the seat adjusted.

I am using this chain on a Bianchi Premio six speeds. This chain shifts smoothly. The chain and Shimano Freewheel 14-28, work well together.

This is the first time,I use this brand, usually I am able to obtain 2500 miles out of a chain.

I ride mostly on flat roads, sometimes against strong winds, which it would the equivalent of uphills.

I believe this chain, if cleaned regularly, it should last for a long time.

Best Deals for Ventura Bicycle Chain 1/2-Inch x 3/32-Inch

This is a great chain. However I've noticed it getting bad reviews from people who lack the mechanical skills possessed by a 7-year-old child! I say "7-year-old" because that's how old I was when my dad taught me how to open & close master links!

The kmc master link is a lot faster & easier to use than the fat, clunky "old-fashioned" master on my old 20" coaster!

This is how to install it:

1 observe the flat plate. notice it has a slot running the length of it, with a "hole" at one end to put the pins through.

2 observe the pin side of the master. notice the pins have grooves in the ends & the back plate is bent slightly "outward".

3 put chain through bike, put master pin plate through the ends of chain with "open" side facing you.

4 put "hole" in front plate over one pin & slide down to other end, so that "hole" can be positioned over second pin.

5 firmly hold links on either side of master in each hand, hold front plate "hole" over second pin with thumb.

6 gently, but firmly, bend master pins "together" toward yourself, until "hole" slips onto second pin.

7 gently release chain. the tension of the chain will pull the pins outward & front plate will make a "click" sound as it locks into the groove in the second pin.

To remove the master link: slack the chain, push pins together to align "hole" over pin, have a helper wiggle the plate off with needle-nose pliers.

If chain tension makes bending the pins together difficult, have a helper hold up the derailleur pulley to slack the chain. If you have a single speed bike, loosen/remove the rear wheel to slack the chain.

It's so easy a 7-year-old could do it! Took me about 10 seconds to install the master link, easiest master I've ever installed!

Honest reviews on Ventura Bicycle Chain 1/2-Inch x 3/32-Inch

This is a wonderful chain with easy installation and quality. I put it on 26" mountain bike with 18 speed, it works very well.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Ventura Bicycle Chain 1/2-Inch x 3/32-Inch

The chain is great for the price, but the Ventura quick link for the 3/32 wide chain is very odd. One plate of the quick link has both pins fixed to it. The other plate has one key hole. One has to flex the plate to get the final pin through the key hole. I had to use pliers.

It is easier to re-use the original pin. To re-use the pin, you will have to keep the outside plates. Since I was going to use the quick link, I punched out the pin for these outside plates.

Schwinn Adjustable Kickstand

Got this to replace training wheels on 16" and 20" bikes when the big day came. No problems at all, easy install with a 14mm wrench (to connect to the bike) and Phillips-head screwdriver (to adjust length). Two installs, two happy girls who can now balance and ride their bikes like pros.

The spring-loaded mechanism works fine and seems to hold up well (so far--this isn't a long-term review). The size and length are appropriate for children's bikes. The 16" bike has the adjustment at the shortest length, while the 20" is extended 4 holes (about 30% longer than the small bike). The price is right.

Complaints? The stand could probably be more solid than it is, but it's a little of a blessing in disguise as it's easy for the girls to kick up and down, even barefoot. If there's anything I would change, it's that the stand portion is a bit too vertical (maybe 5 or 10 degrees). The bikes, when stood up, are a little "tippier" than I remember from when I was a kid. By no means a deal breaker.

For training wheel replacement on 16" and larger bikes I would recommend this kickstand.

I went to several stores looking for kickstands for my daughters Magna 16" bikes. This was the only one that:

1. Looked like quality out of the box. (I think the shaft is actually powder-coated, the finish is so nice).

2. Inexpensive.

3. VERY SMOOTH action up and down easy for kids. Some stands require adult-style kicks to make the stand go up. This one doesn't.

The adjustment slots (maybe 20) give you a lot of flexibility but as I said, the 16" bike is the smallest this will go on.

It tilts my daughters Magna bikes at maybe a 10 degree angle from vertical. Not enough to keep it up in a stiff wind outside but enough to keep it from falling and crashing into the cars in the garage.

I only had this kickstand for a couple of weeks, when a small washer fell off. I couldn't see where it came from, but the kickstand arm wouldn't lock when you put it down and if you wern't careful, it would collapse. A week later another small washer fell off and the kickstand wouldn't work at all. I then took the kickstand off of the bike and found that there is a rivet that holds the kickstand arm in place. The washers that fell off had been holding the rivet in place. I was able to do sort of a fix by peening the rivet end over with a hammer. Disappointing to see such poor quality control from Schwinn. Otherwise the kickstand is very rugged.

Not only was this cheap as all getout, but it fits on any sized adult bike frame. A blind guy or a chimp can install it, w/ basic hand tools.

Pretty straightforward. We bought this for my son's 16 inch bike (I think the description doesn't include this size of bike but we found it works great) when it was time to ditch the training wheels. The bike stays up (my son, at first, was consitantly checking each morning to see if his STRONG new kickstand kept his bike standing-9 out of 10 times, it had). That's pretty good for the sometimes-windy location we live!

Who knew you could replace a freehub body? I have an old Shimano Ultegra wheel that has since had 2 rims replaced due to wear over the years from gravel rides and winter commutes. The hub was going strong for a long time, but finally the freehub was making some unpleasant noises that extra lube and cleaning it out didn't fix. I bought this new freehub body and a 10mm hex wrench to install it and it was super quick and easy. This review comes 1.5 years later, and it's still working great. This was the right solution to keeping a great hub running, even if it is 10+ years old now.
