Got this to replace training wheels on 16" and 20" bikes when the big day came. No problems at all, easy install with a 14mm wrench (to connect to the bike) and Phillips-head screwdriver (to adjust length). Two installs, two happy girls who can now balance and ride their bikes like pros.
The spring-loaded mechanism works fine and seems to hold up well (so far--this isn't a long-term review). The size and length are appropriate for children's bikes. The 16" bike has the adjustment at the shortest length, while the 20" is extended 4 holes (about 30% longer than the small bike). The price is right.
Complaints? The stand could probably be more solid than it is, but it's a little of a blessing in disguise as it's easy for the girls to kick up and down, even barefoot. If there's anything I would change, it's that the stand portion is a bit too vertical (maybe 5 or 10 degrees). The bikes, when stood up, are a little "tippier" than I remember from when I was a kid. By no means a deal breaker.
For training wheel replacement on 16" and larger bikes I would recommend this kickstand.

I went to several stores looking for kickstands for my daughters Magna 16" bikes. This was the only one that:
1. Looked like quality out of the box. (I think the shaft is actually powder-coated, the finish is so nice).
2. Inexpensive.
3. VERY SMOOTH action up and down easy for kids. Some stands require adult-style kicks to make the stand go up. This one doesn't.
The adjustment slots (maybe 20) give you a lot of flexibility but as I said, the 16" bike is the smallest this will go on.
It tilts my daughters Magna bikes at maybe a 10 degree angle from vertical. Not enough to keep it up in a stiff wind outside but enough to keep it from falling and crashing into the cars in the garage.

I only had this kickstand for a couple of weeks, when a small washer fell off. I couldn't see where it came from, but the kickstand arm wouldn't lock when you put it down and if you wern't careful, it would collapse. A week later another small washer fell off and the kickstand wouldn't work at all. I then took the kickstand off of the bike and found that there is a rivet that holds the kickstand arm in place. The washers that fell off had been holding the rivet in place. I was able to do sort of a fix by peening the rivet end over with a hammer. Disappointing to see such poor quality control from Schwinn. Otherwise the kickstand is very rugged.

Not only was this cheap as all getout, but it fits on any sized adult bike frame. A blind guy or a chimp can install it, w/ basic hand tools.

Pretty straightforward. We bought this for my son's 16 inch bike (I think the description doesn't include this size of bike but we found it works great) when it was time to ditch the training wheels. The bike stays up (my son, at first, was consitantly checking each morning to see if his STRONG new kickstand kept his bike standing-9 out of 10 times, it had). That's pretty good for the sometimes-windy location we live!
