The bike was delivered fast, and in good order. Assembling was pretty straight forward.

Charged the battery with a neat little charger overnight, and bingo all was ready to go, and it worked fine.

Battery can be either locked on the bike, or removed easily, to take inside. It's a nice package just right.

I wanted a bike for my wife, (retired) as we have steep hills, and for short trips to the library, community center etc, taking the car was not always ideal.

She has been delighted with her first trials, it "zooms" her up the hill no problem. for me, over 220 lbs, it goes well, but I need to pedal up hill, and the 7 gear shift system works OK.

On the pro side:

Price seems excellent. I definitely did not want to spend 1000$ let alone up to 4000+. What on earth do they put to hike the price that high.

This bike was just rightly priced.

The motor power is great. Most bikes are 250 watts, this has 450 watts, a clear advantage for our hills.

AND has a dual powering system, being TAG a Twist and Go, which is like a throttle, and you adjust the power by more or less twist on the handle bar. The 2nds system is PAG, for Pedal and Go, where the power steps in a second or so after you start peddling, and you feel a nice and quite powerful "push" from the motor. The TAG gives you the full 450 watts when fully "Twisted" and apparently the PaG give you half power.

Mind you the half power is what other expensive bikes have, and some dont have the TAG option. I like this bike.

The Battery is a cheap lead acid, not the expensive Lithium sort (Lithium by the way costs about the same as the full bike and battery put together, and with less power capacity!) which is fine. The lead acid battery is somewhat heavy (16 lbs 7 kgs).

A nice option, is that there is place for 2 batteries, so that you can double the distance, if thats what you want. No hassle, just order the 2nd battery and plug in the other side, all is ready.

It even has a front "suspension". Not too sure why for a city bike.

It seems very strongly built, simple, but strong, has the minimum required, and gets you around (at good speed!) I added front and back lights, as well as a basket in front, plus mud-guards, as my wife would definitely not be pleased to get soaked, if it rained, with the wheels showering up at her. Why the supplier did not add these cheap mud guards, or a basic tyre pump is somewhat a question, but it is a cheap bike.

On the Negative side:

The weight is huge. this is a very heavy bike, and it's not just the battery. Big wheels, tires, huge frame, suspension plus the motor and battery it weighs a ton ( 35 kgs/ 70lb or so). No way can my wife lift the back wheel off the ground. No going up stairs for sure. Why ? Even to get into the back of the car will require some strong arms and effort.

But you can say, well if the motor pushes you, no problem agreed. but be warned, if you live on the 2nd floor or higher and need to take the bike up, forget it.( not my case fortunately) Also if you go further than the battery limit, pedaling will be tough.

my second gripe is the owner's manual: Who ever wrote this? it is the most confusing manual I have ever seen. First,1 manual for about 7 different bikes, and it's all mixed up, quite detailed (which I like) But you are not sure which bike you are referring to.

The The assembly instruction come at page59 ! logical ??. Worse, they give misguided info on the batteries ( page 42-43. On page 42 they say immediately re-charge the battery after use. Correct, lead acid batteries dont like being discharged in full, or being left discharged.

Then they say "do I need to break in my batteries ?" yes! what? thats the best way to ruin a lead acid battery. I hope the manufacturerretailer sees this, and produces I manual for each type of bike, and make a clear distinction between battery types.

The twist control ring is quite small, so it's just the thumb and first finger which are involved. That could become tiring after a while, or if you have some rheumatism. Why not a full handle grip for the power? (which by the way goes the wrong way, you twist away from you to go forward!)

I'll put 4star if they correct the manuals and taken off 1 star or a bit more for the weight. Surely they could have a lighter bike, and saved costs at the same time! I am not looking for a super light bike, but 25-28 kgs, without battery is somewhat exceptional.

on a lesser side, It was a bit of a bother to have to go get a pump for the tires, and mud guards + lights. I also had to go back and ask for the battery terminal cover, which they mention but did not supply. a bit mean ! But maybe I am being difficult, as with a low cost bike, cant have it all, and these items dont cost much.

I ordered separately a helmet and locking device with my order, which I expected.

I'll come back if I have problems after some time.

I absolutely love this bicycle. As a child, I rode my bicycle everywhere. Now, as an adult, I wanted a bicycle again to get more exercise and to enjoy being outdoors. My concerns were the hills in my area and also that I feel so out of shape. This bicycle was the perfect solution.

First, a negative: It's very heavy. The batteries are heavy too.

Now the positives: It's so easy to ride. On a flat surface, I can peddle all day. No straining or discomfort. When I go up the hills, I can peddle until I feel it is too hard to do, then switch to peddle assist or simply use the throttle. The heaviness of the bike feels secure to me when I am riding.

I do wish that I could adjust the speed of the peddle assist. I feel that it moves me along too fast when I am riding with friends who are moving under their own power. It gets me around easily from the first day. I was fortunate to have someone assemble it for me as I think it was beyond my abilities to do.

The batteries lock in place for when I wish to stop and get a soda or dash inside somewhere.

The fun it has brought to me makes me feel like I'm 10 years old again with my new toy. And I feel confident riding it anywhere.

I am a male in his 30s i purchased this bike at pepboys on clearance for $300. The bike looks like a unisex bike. My battery only lasted a month. I guess from sitting in the store for so long. Well i looked into getting a lithium battery but they were all just a little too speep for me. Then i came across a web site called endless-sphere.com an ebike site, and saw that i can use rc lipo batteries on the ezip. So i went to a web site called hobbyking.com and found a 22.2v 5000mah or 5ah lipo the brand was turnigy. The battery was only $50 bucks and i had to buy a special charger for it. I found one on ebay called imax b6 only $27 and $9 for a power suppy for the charger. I had to look at youtube videos on how to put the battery connectors on the battery and one on the ezip. I got the battery on with not to much trouble and went for a ride. All i can say is i will never go back to that big heavy lead battery again. The lipo gave constant power through out the ride. I rode 4 miles all peddal assist to work and 4 back with two hills the bike rode with no power loss. I didnt even charge at work. The 22.2v battery charges all the way up to 25.2v and it dosent take 8 hours like that lead battery. It only takes about an hour if you set it on 5amp charge. I use only 1 amp to charge because it balances the battery better. And i will definitely be ordering 2 more of these batteries and im going to wire them in parallel. That would give me 22.2v 15ah. Oh yeah. Hobbyking even has a 22.2v 8000mah and a 10000mah.

I AM 63 YEAR OLD FEMALE THAT HAD A TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT 9 MONTHS AGO. THIS BIKE IS GREAT TO GET ME OUT ON ANY KIND OF TRAIL. I CAN PEDAL WITHOUT ANY ASSIST, BUT IF I GET TIRED, OR COME ACROSS A HILL, I CAN GET THE HELP I NEED TO ENJOY THE RIDE. THE BIKE WAS DELIVERED IN PERFECT CONDITION. PUTTING THE BIKE TOGETHER (SEAT, FRONT WHEEL, AND PEDALS) WAS EASY, THE

DIRECTIONS WERE EASY TO FOLLOW. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BIKE FOR ANYONE. IT IS FUN.

I want to give this bike four stars because the instruction booklet is so schizoprenic that I don't know what bike model it's refering to, and worse yet, which battery. However, my fingers want to give it at least ten stars because it's so much fun! I am a baby boomer fifty something that sold her bike twenty five years ago after moving into a very hilly neighborhood. I only looked into possibly getting another bike to ride with my bff, whose husband gave her a three speed cruiser for Christmas. I already knew the hills dampen my enthusiasm, so imagine my delight when I found this bike.

Pros:

Some people found the weight to be heavy. Although not light, I had no problems removing it from the shipping box, maneuvering it for assembly (did have a second pair of hands to help me flip it.) Took up another reviewers suggestion to look up the assembly directions on youtube. Very easy to follow, versus the wacko booklet. I didn't time it, but it took less than an hour. It feels substantial while riding.

Others felt the 20ish pound battery made the bike off balance. I haven't noticed a problem at all while I am riding. You do have to watch how you park it with the kick stand, as the extra weight could make it fall.

I WANT to ride the bike because now the steep hills are a non-issue. Along with peddling, the motor gives me just enough umph to make it up long steep hills. Have had no problem with running out of battery juice.

Cons:

My bike was obviously a return and did have some scratches. They did send touch-up paint. Although disappointed, because I am picky, I was so excited to received it (BTW, sss takes forever...Amazon waited six days until they even shipped it and I am still waiting for the bike accessories I ordered on the same day...12 days later...nothing yet...grrr)

The instruction booklet jumps around to different bikes, different throttle systems, different batteries. Not straightforward at all.

Skip it and go to youtube for the instructions...much easier to follow.

Agreeing with another reviewer, the booklet leads one to believe you should drain the battery three times to "condition it" but that reduces the life of the acid battery. I would have done that too, if I hadn't read the review and did some investigation on my own. I think that may be why some buyers were unhappy with the performance of their battery.

All in all, this bike is such fun. I just added a basket I bought from ebay (could have ordered the same through Amazon but wasn't interested in waiting, waiting, waiting for shipping. Will be toting my little dog around in it today, for even more fun.

Go out and enjoy the ride!

Update: I am having so much fun with this bike! The few problems I've had were remedied by rereading the instruction booklet. I WANT to get out and ride it. Some days I even go on two rides!

Well built and rolls smoothly. The problem is that it is smaller then I thought it would be. Because wheel base is so small, it tips forward very quickly when trying to roll over small cracks in sidewalk. My child has crashed by falling face first with the rear of the scooter coming up and pitching forward.

My almost 3 year old loves it.

I got it for my almost 3 year old since I saw lots of reviews on similar items and I like what it said about the safety and stability of this kind of scooters. But the price of the other once were much much higher. So I made an economical decision to buy this scooter which was about half the price, and I'm very happy I did, It is sturdy Stable

and rides quiet and smooth. It came fully assembled so no hassle what so ever.

I love it and I recommend it

When my Y BIKE was stolen from my driveway I was looking to replace it for a cheaper one or for a used one, I was just NOT ready to buy another Y scooter for around $80

Somehow this scooter popped up and I bought it as a new one even though I did not see any product review on it.

I was amazed when it arrived, beautiful packaging and after 2 weeks of daily use I can write with no hesitation that it is top quality. And the price is about half. This scooter with 2 wheels in the front & 1 in the rear is much more stable and safer than the 1 wheel in the front & 2 in the back.

My Daughter loves it and I recommend it.

I was looking at the mini kick scooters and noticed this one for like half the price. As I awaited the scooter, I was uneasy, worried I made a bad decision, and the scooter would be cheap. There were no reviews at the time and I had to just wait and see. When it arrived, I was extremely happy. It's identical to the mini kick. All my friends spent the $80 on the mini kick, and my 2 year old has the same thing, but for a much better deal. I see that the price has gone up, do I feel lucky to have purchased when I did. A very good decision indeed! This seller will sell a ton of these of they can lower the price a little again. Even to like $40-$45.

This is a nice thick, long cable. Thieves will not easily cut this cable, nor break or pick the lock. And the 10 foot long cable can easily reach all the parts that need to be locked. It is not too heavy, nor too clumsy to store, but it isn't lightweight and very flexible either. It's a reasonable trade-off of weight and storage for the extra security that the cable provides. Recommended.

I use this in conjunction with the 4.5 by 9 bulldog lock from onguard. U-lock in the rear triangle, cable for the front wheel, chain inside an inner tube for the seat. Really nice combination of security.

I think that about sums it up. The lock looked nice, was easy to mount and use, dials worked smoothly, and when the time came, it spectacularly failed, allowing me to walk out to an empty bike rack in the morning. Buy a U-Lock. Just do it. A cable simply cannot have the shear strength required to resist good cutters.

They are 3M Scotchlite. They show up really well when a cars headlights hit them. They are a LOT better than those big wheel reflectors that come on your bike, they won't make the wheel out of balance, you can barely see them in the daytime, but really show off are night! They are just small split tubes on 3M. there is nothing to peel off, you just snap them on as many spokes as you want and off you go! If you ride ride at night and on the street, you NEED these!

Its really just ok to good in all categories. The wheels are plastic, with a rubber ring around the contact area. The handle is wobbly design issues using flexible plastic to hook up to an otherwise cleaver (but also China's version of good quality) linkage system.

I really wish something like this could be manufactured to a good quality. What we have here is a good Chinese manufactured product. It will probably last as long as my daughters interest in this. It is probably no different in quality then anyone else's product. At 100 bucks its pretty expensive for the above issues. Might suggest you look into a different handled trike.

My daughter really likes it, I do too. Would easily spent $50+ for a product made correctly rather than "China good".

Not too difficult to assemble. Nice product...granddaughter (1 year old) loves it! Only problem is that the canopy doesn't attach securely to the brackets and has a tendency to fall downwards. Spoke to vendor about the problem and they sent me a new canopy right away, but it seems to be more of a configuration problem than a defective part. Update on canopy...son-in-law resolved the problem. For some reason, there is a small screw on each bracket on the canopy hook-up. The end of the screw was preventing the canopy bracket from getting a tight fit on the other bracket on the trike handle, failing to hold it securely. He simply loosened the small screw a couple of turns, and now each bracket slides in and locks into the holding bracket on the trike. Its good now!

I ordered this product it took forever to get it.. but thats ok because they told me when i should expect it.. I contact customer service to ask then if this tricycle comes with a cup holder because the picture has no cup holder..he told me YES .. i really didnt care if it had a cup holder or not if he would have told me the truth i would have still ordered it.. now i have been emailing the company and they dont even reply .. also after assembling this bicycle it is very flimsy i thought it would be more sturdy for the company .. so considering this model does usually come with a cup holder and is more expensive .. my guess is .. its a knock off .. my daughter almost flipped it over the other day while sitting in it and shes only 13 months .. i read reviews on this seller and alot of people said that if something is wrong he doesnt answer or reply it is impossible to contact him .. i wasnt going to write this review but considering i cant seem to get in touch with the company nicely .. maybe he can answer me now ? or maybe not because i dont really care anymore ... just a heads up for everyone else

Due to back pain, I needed at least a 6" rise over my current straight bar, and settled on a Sinz Cruiser Chromo. I quickly found out that the smaller BMX clamp diameter meant I needed a shim, and this one worked perfectly. Since there is about a 1/8" gap between the two halves (both sides when centered), I used strips of thin double-sided tape to position and hold each in place before positioning and clamping in the stem.

I'm happy with the packaging etc. The hub is going to be used in a bike I am in the process of building. I am very disappointed with the description and the product features here are misleading. I assumed the shifter was included with the hub. This is only a $10.00 part, so not a big deal, but now I need to wait longer to get both parts. The information under product features says:

"The ergonomic grip shift lever with a large speed indicator guarantees maximum riding comfort" One would think the shifter would come WITH the hub by this.

So be advised, this is NOT a complete package. You need to buy the shifter, and disc rotor separately.

You do get: Hub, Trim kit, Cog, & snap ring.

After extensive research on the right balance bike for my 18 month old, I went with a red ST-3 Strider. While I didnt want to pay this kind of money, the expectation is she uses it for 3 years or so and when she is done with it she'll hop on a big-kid bike and ride away. My son, who is older can ride a bike fine now but he is still hesitent and that's because he started on training wheels and the transition is scarier.

I first Spotted these balance bikes at a car show and was amazed at the kids ability to ride around on it so I started my research and was hooked on the idea.

Primary reasons for choosing a Strider over the other manufacturers was that it's seat can go as low as 11", it has a steel frame, and the new ST-3 has the small grips. Given that this was being given to an 18 month old, the smaller the better. Reviews on various sites also helped seal the deal over the wooden bikes and some of thec omposites. I would've considered a kinderbike but besides their own website, they seem hard to find. The wooden ones Ive seen all look pretty beat up and more like a 'craft' instead of an actual bike. Their website marketing showing kids riding their striders like BMX bikes brought me in too, although it'll be a while before my little one does that!

The bike itself is really tiny. The best way to tell this online is to watch the assembly video on their own website (an excrutiatingly boring video however). Its really light weight also which is good for someone so small to pick up off the ground, which she can. Assembly was easy, although I has to use a mallet to attach the quick release on the handlebar stem because its a little tight. Took about 5 minutes with the help of my 6 year old. More time to take all the packaging off than putting it together. The stem is attached to the handlebars directly, there is no neck clamp as in a traditional bike. I was a little worried about this since I thought maybe I wanted some adjustment backwards to make it easier to reach but the bike is tiny and really doesnt need this. Overall construction is fine (paint, weld points, bolts, screws etc seem to be of decent materials) but they could've sprung for some painted on 'Strider' emblems instead of the cheap stickers which I can see peeling off quickly. It would've added to the belief that $99 was worth spending on something so diminutive and simple. My sons Schwinn, complete with metal pedals, front, rear and pedal brakes cost about this and it's got 18 or 20" wheels on it, so a lot more material and engineering over this little bike. (That said his bike is all stickers too, but with orange flames and racing stripes on the seat!)

The seat itself is a hard plastic, not like a standard bike seat which is cushioned. We'll see how the comfort of that is over time. She'll need to learn some new words first before she can express that though.

My tiny 18 month old (girl) saw the bike and hopped right on and immediately started walking with it. She didn't want to get off. Its the reaction I was hoping for, so that's great. She is very small for her age but she can straddle the bike fine and the seat is as low as it can go. With shoes on she should be just right for it. She can reach the handlebars and the smaller grips of the ST-3 are definitely a good thing.

The tires are interesting. They are a semi-soft-hardish solid plastic mold, not the inflatable kind. We'll see how long they last, but I doubt my tiny one can do anything to really mess them up.

One thing I do wish Strider would do is let you customize the bike more on order. I would've ordered straight from their site (instead of amazon) had I been able to choose wheel colors, seats or handlebars to match the bike instead of the all black. They do let you configure it, but not actually buy it. The red on black is great though and I chose that over pink (for resale value, LOL) and in case she wanted to share with her boyfriends (LOL) who may not want to ride a pink bike.

We'll see how she does with it over the next few days as these are first impressions. I am looking forward to seeing her balance with it. She really loves bikes and trikes and now that she has one her size, she's really going to get going.

UPDATE (10/2012):

So she didnt take to the bike as much as I thought she would gravitating more to her brothers old tricycle and scooter. She's maybe used it 10 times so far and only for short spurts of time before switching to somethign else. When she does get on the bike, and she is small for her

Chicago Girls Rink Skates

My 4-1/2 year old loves these skates, and so do I. Quality is excellent. Performance is exactly where I wanted it to be for a beginning skater very much more controllable than roller blades. I did have to call the manufacturer before ordering though to clear up my sizing concerns. My daughter's shoe size was a 12 when I ordered and initially I didn't see anything smaller than a 1. Others complained of the big first size. If you scroll down the sizes you will see the smaller sizes at the bottom. I believe there is a J12 and J13. That would be junior 12 and 13. I got the 13 (a size bigger than shoe size) and it is a perfect fit very easy to put on with just the right amount of room to grow. I highly recommend these skates!

My 6 y.o loves these roller skates. Skates around the house almost all the time. Boot is supportive, but not stiff. Feels like real leather. True to size. She wears a 13 in all her shoes. Tried Roller Derby, will stick with Chicago Girl.

Best Deals for Chicago Girl's Rink Skates

We purchased these skates for our daughter's 9th birthday! They were

a big hit, especially since she was having a Rollerskating B-Day party!

They are good for a beginner skate because the wheels do not go super fast. The boot of the skate is a little stiff but may just need broken in.

They do run true to size. Overall, great skate and good value!

Honest reviews on Chicago Girl's Rink Skates

I bought a size 7 for my daughter (runs large) based on other reviews almost a year ago and she still uses them. She's 10 and I wanted a skate to last longer than a shoe at her age and this one does. You can't beat the price for what you get. The sizes run a little large, but they can wear thick socks while their feet grow. I also bought a pair for myself and I am so happy that I did. The rink skates are narrow and pinch my toes! For the price, you can't get a better skate and it will last through the growth spirts!

We ordered these skates for my 9 year old daughter after not finding much selection in stores where we live. These are a classic roller rink skate and are well made. I love the vintage old school look, and my daughter just lit up when we took them out of the box. Keep in mind when ordering that these run really big at least a full size larger. My daughter normally wears a 3/4 in girls shoes so we ordered the 4, but these def are a full size larger. This will be ok as she can grow into them, but for now she puts on two pairs of cushy socks to fill the gap. I wear a womens size 6, and these were too big even for me. Another reviewer said these run true to size, so maybe it just depends. My daughter says these are comfortable, and she loves having her own skates when we go to the rink. These seem to be holding up well, and are definitely a good buy, especially with free shipping.

I'm posting this mostly as a tip for others who may have gotten this and found it too tall. We love our little GoGo bike but my daughter couldn't straddle it and touch the floor when she got it for her second birthday. However, I just discovered that if you install the frame upside down [so it curves up to the fork] and then install the seat in the highest position it works _perfectly_ and looks like a little low-rider. I wish I'd tried this months ago so she could have had it all summer. Now she's just getting the hang of it as we're getting ready for snow.

I have owned Park chain cleaners for nearly twenty years. The Finish Line cleaner works much better. The brushes get inside the chain links to clean the grunge out of the centers. Perfect.

Don't know why I waited so long to try the Finish Line.

I bought this cleaner over the Park based upon reviews. Don't know about the Park but the Finish Line chain cleaner works great. It's a little hard to hold steady with one hand and run the crank but I think that's the case with all these cleaners. But it does what it is supposed to, clean the chain. I was amazed at how many metal particles were trapped by the magnet. Bottom line, does a great job of cleaning the chain with no mess.

I base a lot of my purchase decisions on the reviews other people give of products, so I chose this cleaner over the Park Tool CM-5 Cyclone Chain Cleaner because there were a few reviews that said after dropping the Park cleaner only once they cracked and were unusable. I don't have both so I can't compare them, but I am very happy with this cleaner and it does a great job of getting the chain clean. I use it along with the Pedros Oranj Peelz Cleaner and it's amazing how clean the chain gets. After that I apply the Dumonde Tech Lite bicycle chain lubrication 2oz and I'm good to go. The lube is supposed to leave some sort of 'plate' on the chain so I am going to try to clean it the next time with just water and reapply the lube per the directions and see how that works.

Honest reviews on Finish Line Shop Quality Bicycle Chain Cleaner

Ok, maybe not chrome, but shiny steel for sure. I used this on a chain that has seen a lot of dirt trails, and thus it was covered with old, hardened, caked-on grime. It took a few tries to get it going (chain kept falling off, but I was having some derailleur alignment issues at the time), but once it did, the chain got very clean with not much effort.

I used some cheap engine degreaser and I had to replace it with new degreaser half way through this process, due to the length of time I went without really cleaning my chain. You will definitely want to put a bunch of newspaper or something under your bike to protect your floor, as there will be some dirty drippings. I then used a shop rag to get the last of the degreaser off the chain.

Also, its a good idea to clean your sprockets, particularly the rear cassette, which was caked as well. My method for that is using a putty knife with a shop rag wrapped around it and I put some degreaser on that. Then I simply slide it in between the sprockets and spin the rear wheel. I was amazed at the amount of crud that came out of there!

After reading the reviews on the Park cleaner I decided to go with this one and have not been disappointed. As someone already mentioned, it take a couple of tries to figure out the best way to hold it with one hand and turn the crank with another but read the instructions and you should do fine. Amazing how much dirt there is on a bike chain after just one ride.

I have had this trainer for just under 2 months and am fairly happy with my purchase. I knew going in, that I wasn't going to get a Cadillac (or BMW) for a hundred bucks, but it does a good job of helping me keep in shape during the cold winter months. To give you some kind of idea as to my normal work out level, I generally ride out doors about 2,000 miles per year. With my retired 20+ year old Fuji Palisade mounted in this trainer at high resistance, and top gear on the bike, I can get a full cardio workout.

I used the free shipping option, and received the package a few days earlier than originally expected. Assembly was completed in a 10-15 min time frame, using the instructions included in the box. I didn't need to use the included skewer replacement, as the stock quick release axle on my Fuji fit fine. The paint finish looks great, and the only thing I might have added would be a quick release between the bike tire and the resistance unit so I don't have to re-adjust the tension each time I ride. NOTE: You do not want to leave the tire locked in when you are not riding in order to prevent the tire from denting. Noise is not an issue for me. Sure it make some noise, but it is not so loud that I can't listen to my MP3 player, and the more I ride, the less I notice it.

One final note, if you are going to buy this or any other trainer you really should consider a stabilizer for the front wheel.

For the price this wasn't bad.

I experienced a few minor frustrations. The assembly pictures weren't really clear, but putting it together was fairly self explanatory so I could live despite that.

The only real issue came when I went to mount my bike. I have a Mongoose Mountain bike, and this is most definitely set up for a street bike.

if you don't have a quick release latch on your rear tire you may need to purchase one. the one that is supplied is extremely small if you have a mountain bike (Mine requires almost a 1/4 inch shaft the one supplied is considerably less than that)

However I was able to improvise by tightening the bracket on to my lugs and it works fine.

Is rather loud, but I attribute that to my knobby tired more-so than the unit itself, which when I tested it was very quiet

All said and told a good purchase, just wish they had supplied more information (such as the latch) before purchasing so i could have been better prepared.

This product was purchased as a gift for my wife. We have had it for one month and she has been using it since Christmas. I found the assembly to be easy and the instructions easy to follow. Before purchasing I was almost scared off by other reviews that had talked about excessive noise. While it is far from quiet the noise is no more of a distraction than a running refrigerator. My wife listens to the radio while using the trainer with no problems. She uses the trainer in our garage on a cement floor.

i love this thing. and i paid more for it in a bike store so this is a deal. snap to set-up. takes 15 minutes maybe. there is a gentle hum but not loud. i have chronic fatigue so this is perfect. I was looking for a very easy low impact workout and this is it. I used to be an avid bike rider but not suffer from CFS and i'm hoping this thing will bring me back. so if you need and real easy work-out and have cfs this is as good as it gets. I love it. and this price is a super deal.

After looking for a trainer for about a week I reluctantly purchased this one. I say reluctantly because everyone and everything told me to go for the cycle ops brand by saris. Friends had them and liked them, all the bike shops in my town exclusively sell them, and they just look better. I however did not want to drop the money for one. So I went with this one, and was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived and found out that it is made by saris!

First thing I liked about it; ease of setup. It has no parts to assemble, you just unfold it, attach the resistance unit using a bolt, screw in the adjustment knob and it's ready to go. It took about 5 minutes and most of that was cleaning a space to assemble it in.

Second; resistance. If you have a triple gear bike you will have no problems resistance. This trainer easily gives me a work out, and I have been riding trails at least four times a week for a year now.

Third; transportation. This mostly stays in my office with a bike on it, but occasionally I take it outside. This unit easily folds up and is not too heavy.

Now the other details, and these all involve the tire not the trainer.

Noise. If you have a mt. bike tire on it, it is going to be loud.

Ride quality. Again a mt. bike tire is going to slip easily due to the knobs which will not give you a smooth ride. It will also cause it to heat up the tire and give an awful burnt rubber smell.

These are two things I see talked about negatively towards all the trainers I looked into, and they are so easy to fix. Get a slick tire.

The noise is drastically reduced and the ride is much smoother. You also don't get that awful smell that many complain about.

This is a great product and I'm very happy I bought it.

My wife and I used these tires with great success in montreal, where the roads are littered with potholes, and there is constantly glass on the road. Never had a flat after 2 years of frequent bike commuting after switching to the marathon plus.

A word of caution, the size 26 x 1 3/8 IS NOT FOR A 26" mountain bike rim. I bought that size thinking it was, and it is at least 1" larger in diameter than the rim on several of my mountain bike rims. A careful inspection of schwalbe's site showed that 26 x 1 3/8 has a different ETRTO than the 26 x 1.5, 26 x 1.75, and 26 x 2.0. Be careful when ordering tires online!

I live just outside of town, which is great for writing on farm roads. one of them is been there for decades, with uncountable vendor vendors and broken glass the intersections; add in the goats head stickers that will penetrate anything. Flats were a problem-nothing let the air out of a pleasant ride/ work out than a flat. then I found this tire and have not had one flat in 2 years.

I installed these spokes because my previous ones were breaking for no apparent reason. I later discovered that the spokes that came stock on my bike were faulty for the years that my bike was manufactured. These spokes feel a lot more sturdy, yet without being too lightweight. I will re-post in a year or so to let you know how they have held up. I currently weigh 320lbs, so these spokes will get quite a beating :). I have already put 20-25 miles on them without a hitch, but the other ones didn't start breaking until they had over 1000 miles on them, so again, I will re-post either in a year, or when the first spoke breaks (whichever comes sooner)
