I upgraded my old 1986 RockHopper to 9 speed and wanted indexed trigger shifters to match my other bike. This bike previously had the factory Deore friction shifters which worked wonderfully. At the time, it was my only bike and I could shift to the proper gear with a high success rate. My shifting was actually more precise with the 9 speed than it was through my 7 & 8 speed upgrades, simply because of the ergonomics of this shifter and my hand etc.
Then----I got a 2nd bike with trigger shifters, which I loved! My friction shifting skills went down the tube!
So, in order to make both bikes the "same" shifting wise, I ordered these.
The work totally as they should, and I'm happily "clicking" down the road.
I do work on bikes as a hobby/extra income, so my tune up skills are what I'd consider above average.
Installation went as it should and I had it "dialed in" promptly.
I consider this to be a good buy. I've been using them slightly over a year and no problems what so ever.

Rack works well, sturdy, well made product. Wall mounted it low so wheel is centered in rack. Bikes have to lean slightly when in rack, they can't just balance on their wheels. That makes them want to roll out of the rack a little. Glued little pieces of wood to the floor to act as wheel chocks for each bike.

Schwalbe Durano Raceguard Clincher Road Bicycle Tire - Folding Reviews
Sticky, smooth, very tough. Not a fast race tire, but fantastic for training rides, very good cornering, low rolling resistance but also smooths out bumps nicely. Get the 25 or 28 width and you will be very happy.

Edit 3/21/13
After roughly 6-700miles (I don't ride that much...), I only have good things to say about this tire. I have not had any flat since I bought it (versus too many with my paper thin Specialized tires that came with the bike). Tread looks like it will last past 1000 miles. Great tire for its intended use (not flatting).
Edit 7/22/13
Still no flat after over 1000 miles. Great tire. Rear looks a little beat up but should last quite a while still. I'm definitely buying another one to replace it.
However it didn't turn out well. After about 1000 miles one of the belts in the casing of the rear tire tore inside the casing. This immediately caused a soft spot in the wall of the casing and created a lump in the tire. Enough of a lump to make it un-rideable.
I expected a lot more.

I use this on the rear of my Tour Easy recumbent. Great bike but there is a tendancy for the rear wheel to slide out on hard turns and gravel or wet surfaces. I took a couple of spills with the stock tires until I mounted the Schwalbe durano. The tire coumpound has gripped on gravel and slippery wet ashfault several times when I would have been down and sliding on most other tires. Low rolling resistance and pretty good flat protection in a high pressure tire. Four stars only due to the tendancy to pick up small bits of gravel and glass that have to be removed before they work through the tread. A quick inspection before each ride or after riding over glass is necessary.Best Deals for Schwalbe Durano Raceguard Clincher Road Bicycle Tire - Folding
These tires are used on my tandem with aggressive riding and hold up very well. They offer good traction in both wet and dry conditions and last more than one season of 1500 miles. Resistance to cuts and other punctures seems to be very good too. I recommend using these and buying them from Bike Tires Direct.Moose
Honest reviews on Schwalbe Durano Raceguard Clincher Road Bicycle Tire - Folding
After getting tired of punctured paper thin tires, I bought one to test. After a couple hundred miles of puncture free rear tire, and about 3 flats on the front tire (not a Durano), I'm ordering another one to have a trouble free wheelset. They're not the lightest, but they're not super heavy either. I can't really tell the difference anyway when I'm riding around (I'm no ultra fit roadie either, I just ride my road bike to train for mountain biking). Overall, the tire is comfy, not too heavy, flat resistant and does not seem to give up too much in performance to a race tire. It's probably the ideal touring/training/commuting tire. I haven't tried it in the wet, so I can't comment (thank you sunny California).Edit 3/21/13

I recieved this in 1 day...I don't know how it arrived so quickly. It comes in two pieces. You only need to attach 4 small and three large bolts and you are ready to go. Be sure to get a hitch pin ( sold seperately) I went to Home Depot for mine. This carrier is nice cause it is extra large, very sturdy, but not overly akward to attach. I store mine on 2 recycling bins so that I can easily slide it a bit to adjust for attaching to the hitch. You need a torque wrench ( or a friend who has one ) to secure the 11 bolts. Very simple assembly. This one is the larger size and I'm glad I chose it cause as you will find that in practical use you can haul many more items. I bought wratcheting straps, but the "octopus-style" bungee cords seem to work best for my uses unless you really have a top-heavy or tippy item. I also like the fact that with this one you can add lights...the cutouts are built in the frame. You dont need them for day errands but if I were driving long distance or night travel I would go for the lights. The frame seems very sturdy and I have kept it outside uncovered for several months now. There is the start of rusting at the bolt heads, but I suppose that is to be expected. Perhaps you could spray rustoleum on them as a preventitive. I also notice that there is a very light rust tinge along only one support bar where the steel mesh lies over and must be welded to it. If I could, I would store it in a shed or garage. The hitch bar has a rise to it and I wouldn't
buy one without the rise feature as it adds necessary clearance. Mine has had zero problems over gradings and culverts. For 125 dollars delivered, it is well worth the price for saving me and my forester the aggravation of loading messy/bulky/stinky items into my car and adding lots of cargo carring capacity.
Pros...
+ Solid construction
+ Design allows for good distance between carrier & bumper
Easy access to rear tailgate (SUV)
Plenty of clearance to open tailgate vertically
+ Assembly was straight forward, but allow for extra time
Follow directions; use a torque wrench for peace of mind
+ Impact to fuel economy was relatively minimal.
Hwy MPG was 17.8, vs 19.4, with ~200# load secured in rainproof duffle
Cons (minor)...
+ Packaging could use a redesign; incurred minor chips and scratches fixed with rustoleum
One of two zip ties holding arm broke allowing for it to swing in transit
The two corner supports need to be sturdy cardboard or foam, and need to be adhered
+ Item is bulky.
Practice putting it on & removing it a few times before your first use
Separate note on:
Assembly... Take time to consider how you will orient the arm. It is designed with a slight arc to allow for additional clearance, if you need it. Generally, car or minivan hitches will be lower to the ground than a hitch on a SUV or truck.
Recommended purchases... Consider the following (I bought these; added peace of mind and increase my overall satisfaction of the carrier):
Rola 59102 Expandable Hitch Tray Cargo Bag
Master Lock 1480DAT Stainless Steel Receiver Lock for 5/8' Receiver Hole
Grizzly Gear Large 36" x 60" Cargo Net with 16 Durable Nylon Hooks Stretches to 60" x 90"
This unit is bigger than the others. It is 24" wide, when most are 20". I like the extra space for holding those plastic boxes.
Arrived fast
Seems strong enough, looks good enough
Weighs 60lb. Easy to carry by rails with one person and lots of space. For tight areas, may be better with two people.
Not so good:
Shipping box, as others have said, seems inadequate. My UPS guy apologized and said I might want to inspect the package. I told him it's OK, the thing is strong metal, won't be broken but will be scratched. No big deal, since it's not fragile, but it should be better.
Assembly:
Very easy, I thought. BUT, you are asked to provide a torque wrench and not just any torque wrench. I have two, and one only goes up to 45 ft-lbs. Only my heavy-duty torque wrench can handle the 75 ft-lbs required by the 3 big bolts of this carrier. However, my thinking is that you could use a regular ratchet/wrench if you are a strong 175lb+ man and just tighten it as hard as you can. (You assume the risk if your bolts don't hold, of course.) Better to do it right at some point, or swing by any mechanic once you have it basically built but you could use it right away, and fix the torque later.
13mm and 19mm wrenches/sockets needed.
I typically have two full coolers, a 150 quart marine cooler and an 80 quart cooler, on this along with miscellaneous camping bits like chairs and an easy-up. We've used is several times, and all welds and bolts are intact.
It was worth the money for me.

After much research, I finally opted for this hitch carrier and I and so happy with my choice. Unlike the cheaper models, this carrier is extremely well built and sturdy. Very heavy too. I would not suggest this item for someone who is petite and does not have help to slide it in your receiver, because even for a large man, it is heavy and takes some finesse to do it alone. There were several comments about torque wrench, and you really dont need one. Just tighten up the bolts as tight as possible and you will be fine. Also, the size of this model beats the others by far. My suggestion, spend the extra 40 bucks and buy this model.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Pro Series 63153 60" x 24" Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier (Black)

We've had this product since our son was 11 months old. At first he pushed it around--he wasn't tall enough to sit on it and have his feet touch the floor--and it worked fine. The wheels move very easily in any direction, which is a bonus for a very practiced cruiser (freedom to go where they want), but makes it slip away easily for a child who needs help with balancing. I wouldn't recommend this for the stage where they are just beginning to cruise--you'll want a sturdier push cart for that. This small limitation shouldn't discourage you, though, because for us, the real joy of the bike came when my son could start to "ride" it as a bicycle. He was 13 months old before his feet fit firmly on the ground with his bum on the seat and then it was true love. At first, he couldn't quite go straight from one point to another, but he zig zagged around like a little speed racer, smiling and laughing the whole way. After a few weeks of seated riding, he could begin to maneuver it where he wanted to go--even if he was outside and his desired destination was 20 yards away. This was especially fun for him since he wasn't quite waking yet. It is hard to have a crawler outdoors, but this helped him play on rough surfaces without sacrificing his knees.
I am UPDATING this review at 15 months old. My son is now walking very well, and still loves his little bike. It works very well indoors and out, and it is hands-down his favorite toy and has been for the last couple months. It is so much fun that it attracts all sorts of attention from other children and parents. Whenever he sees it, he points to it and lets us know he wants to go outside and play. It seems like a great toy to keep him active and challenge his balance and coordination, and is definitely sturdy enough to survive multiple children. Much older children have ridden it, and I, myself, have sat on it with him. While I obviously wouldn't do that all the time, it did not crack or show any stress from the extra weight. I do think it helped him become an independent walker a little bit faster than he would have otherwise.
For reference, my son was 27lbs and 31" at his 12 month checkup, and he grew into this at about 12 months and 3 weeks, after a bit of a growth spurt. I assembled it myself in about 15 minutes. He began walking somewhere around 13 months, 2 weeks, and he loved it before and after.
Update-While I still think this product is neat it does not work well on carpet. My daughter trying to push it through the carpet has toppled headfirst over the front when it tips because there is too much resistance. I have reduced my 5 star rating to 3. I wish it were more stable.

I purchased this for my grandson. He is approx. 19 months old, he crawls like a maniac, but has been a bit behind in walking development. He will pull up and walk around furniture, cabinets, etc. I honestly think he is afraid of falling down, so he tends to want to hang on to things. We are a little concerned, and have had him checked at a local childrens hospital (no apparent problems), but also know he will walk when he is ready. Grandma says he is just very cautious in approach to walking and I agree. We have purchased different ride on/walk behind toys and he likes them all but has difficulty turning them because the wheels only roll forward or backward. I suppose that is ok at first and works well for walkers for the elderly, but little guys like this are just learning and want go every where, in all directions, fast. That is what attracted me to this device. The ability to go any direction, quickly, because of the swivel casters on each of it's four legs. GENIUS IDEA, I thought to myself as I made my order. I received this yesterday and promptly put it together (very easy) and was quite impressed by the design, sturdy construction, component fit and finish. Called the daughter up to bring little man over to see his new "thing". What transpired once he was introduced to this was truly remarkable, and awesome. He seemed to like pushing it around while standing, walker style, and did quite well on our hardwood floor and rugs. But what he really liked to do was straddle the seat and walk it around, bike style. Not really sitting on it, but it appeared he liked the security of having a seat under him. After that it was unbelievable how fast he discovered his way around our home, "walking" and not crawiling. It was truly amaizing. When they got ready to go, I told his mom to take it with her to their home. This morning she reports that he took his dad around the house showing him every room. If he gets it in a jam he backs up, spins around and goes another way....on carpet. He actually calls it his "bike" when pointing at it. The YBike Pewi gets 5 thumbs up on PopPop's must buy list. Even if your little one is not having problems with walking, this thing is really fun......at least that is what I would think if I was little.Best Deals for Pewi Ybike Ride On Toy and Walking Buddy
I was looking for something for our 18 month old that she could turn easily from one direction to the other. She is delayed in walking/standing so she gets tired of crawling. The scooter she was using was hard to lift and turn around. this ones wheels turn 360, its a smooth ride. Shes having a little bit of a hard time holding it still to get on, but we're hoping she'll get strong enough to do it. Its also higher than her other scooter so she's using different muscles. I cant imagine a 9 month old on it, 12mo. and up. Our 3 year old likes it too but he's a little tall.Sturdy, easy to build, cute, smooth ride. Really like it, for us worth the moneyHonest reviews on Pewi Ybike Ride On Toy and Walking Buddy
Cute bike, good concept, but major issue with tipping forward. One tiny bump on the sidewalk, a crack in the tile, and the kid will go facefirst over the handlebars. Forget riding on carpet. I'm nursing my toddler's bloody chin as we speak. The other issue we have had is when he tries to go "fast", the back wheels bump his feet as he tries to run with the bike. Nice idea but not safe with its current construction.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Pewi Ybike Ride On Toy and Walking Buddy
What a neat product. My parents bought this for my daughter who just turned one. She crawls, cruises, and has taken a few steps but definitely uses the walk behind products a lot right now. The design is ingenious. She can walk behind the "bike" and even turn (which is something she hadn't been able to do with other products). Or she can ride and push the bike. She really seems to enjoy the freedom of movement and is all smiles when scooting around. The wheels are like rollerblade wheels and move easily on the carpet but when she gets on tile she can really move without falling. Assembly was a breeze and the bike seems very sturdy. I do not anticipate any issues. Overall I would definitely recommend this product for a child learning to walk.Update-While I still think this product is neat it does not work well on carpet. I love this bike. It rides really smoothly. I went bike riding with my family and had my daughter in the wee ride bike carrier. I thought because it only had three speeds that I was going to get tired really fast. But it turns out that the ride wasn't bad at all. I love the colors. The pictures does no justice on how gorgeous this bike is. Everywhere we went I kept getting compliments. One thing I didn't know is that you can't pedal backwards like you could on a regular ten speed bike. When you pedal backwards it's actually the brakes. It took about one week for the bike to delivery and I assume putting the bike together wasn't so hard. I let my neighboor assemble it for me. I do know from all the bikes he assemble this did take the longest. Because of the fenders.

I absolutely am in love with my new beach cruiser. It's one of the best purchases I've ever made. I paid our local bike shop to complete the bike as I am not at all proficient in putting stuff like that together. I have only one complaint and that is the fact that the rear reflector fell off as I was riding it home. The nut was very loose I guess. I don't know if it's the shops fault or amazons but since the rear of the bike was the part that came 85% already done maybe it was whomever sent me my cruiser. The fender is so low on the tire that I'd have to remove the tire to put the rear deflector on so my dad bought me' a red flashing light that he attached just below the saddle. And now I also need to go back to the shop to attach the basket because he didn't have the proper tools. Other than the extra money spent and the faulty deflector, I am quite happy with my Lahaina Beach CruiserFind helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Nirve Lahaina Women's Cruiser Bike (26-Inch Wheels)

So far so good with my first trial of these tubes. I've only gone a couple hundred miles on them, but I can say with certainty that the smooth valve stem is an absolute must. I tried them because of that after 3 flats in a row on Bontrager super lights all failing at the valve stem area. I recommend based on performance so far. No flat and they hold air well (I run at 110 to 120 psi).
This item was defective upon receipt. Air leaked because valves did not close to keep air in on two sets. The valve on one of the sets got fixed after playing with it for a while. I was able to use the set with the fixed valve once for a ride. During that ride I got a flat (bad luck?). Seller promised to send a replacement and I waited for 3 months, still nothing. I also missed the amazon a-to-z guarantee deadline because I was not aware of it until recently. Do not recommend this seller and this product for above reasons.
Thanks and have fun shopping,

I tried them because of that after 3 flats in a row on Bontrager super lights all failing at the valve stem area. I recommend based on performance so far. No flat and they hold air well (I run at 110 to 120 psi).

Hi buyers,This item was defective upon receipt.

Easy to install if you pay attention. Looks nice and gives the car a high performance look. A bit expensive but far cheaper than high performance brakes. If looked at closely, you can tell the bolts are not real. It would be nice if they dressed that feature up a bit. These do work as advertised and look nice. Happy I bought these.

Reviews of Wheels Manufacturing Presta Valve Extenders 73mm Silver
Judging from the picture and description of "extenders", I thought I was getting multiple extenders. Instead, only one arrived. What's worse, the one that arrived wasn't machined property and only had an opening on one end. While the product quality and quantity get 1 star, I give the seller 4 stars for responding to my complaint and refunding my money. The seller claims Amazon chose the photo of 8 extenders which misrepresent the 1 extender you will get, but that doesn't explain why the seller's description is plural.
Review of Park Tool PT-03 Double Ended Cone Wrench
These hand tools, like most everything Park makes, are extremely well thought out and well made. They give great value to the home bicycle mechanic.
Cone wrenches are required for disassembling, reassembling, and even adjusting loose-ball bearing cones on bicycle wheels.
Often an assortment will be required and sometimes one will need two of the same sized wrenches -most often in the 13mm, 14mm, and 15mm sizes. The Park DCW assortment is sized with combinations with overlap so that only owning 3 or 4 of these wrenches will allow you to cover most any situation when working on common bicycle wheel bearing cones. The wrench comes in 4 sizes and due to the size overlap if you buy only one of each you are covered. There are different common size combinations that one runs into when working on a typical cone and cone locknut -often the combinations are: 13/15, 13/14, and 14/15. If one buys the DCW-1, DCW-2, DCW-3 that will cover most any combination of cone nut flats commonly encountered without having to buy any one single wrench twice. Notice how clever Park was when they created their line-up with built-in overlap of the wrench sizes since one can only use one side of a double-sided wrench at a time.
The tool's coating is a neat non-slip and corrosion-resistant finish that feels nice to hold. The tools nest nicely and have a hole in one end so you can hang them on a hook together on a pegboard if you are into that kind of organization with your tool storage.
Park tools -those guys are thinking so you don't have to!
Pros:
*Excellent value especially considering the very reasonable and low price.
*Intelligent selection of sizes/combinations.
*Long-lasting high-quality wrenches.
*Non-slip, non-corroding finish.
*Hanging hole feature.
Cons:
*Not as much leverage as a long-handled single-sided bench-top cone wrench but Park makes a different professional model too, so it isn't fair to knock these wrenches for what they aren't supposed to be.
It's great.

I just used one of these wrenches to adjust my rear hub and it worked all right. No marks on the wrench (yet). They do feel a little cheap though (I used to use Campagnolo wrenches back home). Funny: The German print on the package says that they are for hobbyists, the English label praises them as pro tools.Best Deals for Park Tool PT-03 Double Ended Cone Wrench

Honest reviews on Park Tool PT-03 Double Ended Cone Wrench
I bought this wrench as a poor man's pedal wrench since it can multitask. It does the job, but make sure you keep some gloves handy for use when putting a lot of torque on the wrench. The edges are fairly sharp and the wrench is fairly short so places to grab it is limited. Overall, a good product from Park as usual though.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Park Tool PT-03 Double Ended Cone Wrench
It is a fact, that without fail, you will need two cone wrenches of the same size. While I do own several Park cone wrenches, I always find I need to hold the other side. Those who use these type wrenches know that nothing else will work.Monday, May 26, 2014
Discount Park Tool Internal Nipple Wrenches
I purchased this wrench to true my badly off center (lateral and vertical adjustment required) Reynolds DV3K wheelset (Clincher). The tool works as advertized slotting through the holes and fitting on the spoke nut to adjust as required. Does exactly what it says on the tin. The tool appears to be specifc to certain types of wheel set of which Reynolds is one. Happy with the purchase and will use in the future as needed to true my wheels.

3/16 in. hex is the size needed for those pesky VGA connector screws that like to work their way out of your laptop. This plus a bottle of red Locktite was just the ticket to do battle.Honest reviews on Park Tool Internal Nipple Wrenches
This tool does not work on regular, classic, usual, normal spoke nipples. Who knew that "internal" means some new, exotic, incompatible type of whiz-bang spoke nipple.Reviews of Avenir AirSource 2X Shop Floor Pump

I use this pump to fill my wheelchair tires to 130 PSI. The pressure gauge has a red pointer that I can set to my desired pressure in order to help me see when I have reached pressure. The pump is sturdy. The base has three feet making it easier for me place under my heels. There is a cool lever near the base. The lever allows me to switch between high volume output or high pressure output. This pump has a 1" orange aluminum anodized tube sliding up and down inside the pump body instead of the usual 1/4 steel rod so it can pump high volume air for bigger tires. It gets up to 40 pounds quickly and then I flipped the high/low pressure lever down to get higher pressures. It has a nice stroke over 20" long for smooth and rapid operation. The head works great on both presta and schrader valves without conversion. The head has a nice orange anodized aluminum lock lever that is easy to use. The triple foot is a stable and sturdy metal stamping with a tough plastic pad underneath to protect floors. The pump weighs 3 lbs 9 oz. There is a trick storage compartment in the handle for the inflator needle and inflation cone you used to have to hunt for. You can hide your stash inside the capped compartment in the other side of the handle. The gauge is accurate and easy to read with a movable pointer to set for your target. There is a No Time Limit warranty. I am very pleased to have found such a well built and high tech pump at a very reasonable price. It's made in China but Avenir/Raleigh is making them do it right.

Cheap Shimano FD-5703 105 Triple Front Derailleur (10-Speed)
Replaced my old 105 Frt derailleur. This 105 has more support in the places the old one did not, so, I'm sure it'll last the life of the bike.

This bike rack is very sturdy and heavy duty. I had on back of my truck and carried two bikes to Florida and back, I would highly recommend it but it is not light. I weighs probably about 40 pounds I am guessing and I bought it to go on the back of my 5th wheel trailer.

I bought this rack to replace a previous rack that did not work very well with my truck (F150). I absolutely love the stability, versitility and security of this rack. I used it on my vacation to the Upper Pennisula of MI and drove over 1200 miles round trip. The rack was perfect and even survived some very rough dirt roads! I would highly recommend this rack to anyone.Best Deals for Swagman XP 3-Bike Standard Hitch Mount Rack (2" Receiver)
The Swagman xp bike rack is the greatest. We are using it on the back of our 5th wheel RV. We had tried another brand hitch and it broke 1 month after using it on our trailer. In desperation we tried the swagman and it's working great!! We only use 2 bikes on the hitch which gives enough room so they don't touch. Very sturdy while hanging on the back of our RV. couldn't ask for more. Used the 5/8" swagman anti-wobble threaded hitch pin and it doesn't wobble. Highly recommend for the back of a 5th wheel trailer.Honest reviews on Swagman XP 3-Bike Standard Hitch Mount Rack (2" Receiver)
Purchased to replace a cheaper rack. The idea was to put two bikes on the three rack unit for more space and protect the bikes. Good idea. The bike mounting units tilt to level the bikes. This is reason enough to choose this rack. Frame is strong and does a great job holding the bikes. Would buy again. This is the best rack in this price range.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Swagman XP 3-Bike Standard Hitch Mount Rack (2" Receiver)
This is a well built bike rack. I is listed as a 3 bike rack. It works well with 2 bikes. It is not designed for girls bikes. to use with girls bikes you have to mount one holder and put on the bike. then using a wrench attach the next holder then you can put on the next bike. to take of the bikes you have to reverse the pocess. It wobbles in the reciever, it is not a tight fit it needs to be supported.
