I bought this lock for the purposes of locking my folding bike(s) to the tradition and not so traditional posts when riding around in the city. I thought having this additional few inches (11.5 in) provides me with more room to get around those thicker posts. I have to say that overall this product is great, but not excellent.

The 14mm thickness is pretty standard, about the same thickness that I have for my standard Kryptonite locks. All of which could be cut with the proper tools I want to mention.

The overall lock itself is a bulky, and I haven't yet decided if I want to keep it locked on the post or continue to carry it with my for a regular lock. The mounting bracket is a traditional 2 piece, with 2 various screw sizes so it allows you to mount it on larger sections of the frame. However, what i do like about the mountain mechanism, is that it clips in as your press the u-lock onto the mount, rather than have to slide the mounting piece through a channel (Kryptonite). I have it mounted on my Dahon 16in bike, right on the seat.

The locking mechanism works by having the key inserted into the middle of the straight black piece, and turning it, which the u lock will can be removed by pulling it straight out. I dont think the unlock/lock is as clean as the Kryptonite.

I can lock this bike folded or two bikes, which is the reason why i got it. However, because of the weight of the bike, i will probably keep it limited to transportation to racks nearest campus.

I rate this as 4 stars because the additional few inches is what I was looking for, however, if I were to get the smaller lock, i would likely stay with Kryptonite.

ordered these for boyfriend so he could start biking with me. He needed a longer lock with enough clearance to secure his clunky bike frame when it's folded. The coating on the lock had begun to strip when we first unboxed it. The lock itself does the job (at least it has, so far).

the locking part area is not strong, the iron metal may strong.

My looks like, it is coming apart just a month and half since I bought it.

I bought this because my folding bike is rather 'thick' when it's folded, and I wanted to be able to run this lock through the whole thing, and around a pole. It turns out that even this really long lock wasn't enough. I end up just leaving the bike unfolded and locking this around the frame. It's incredibly sturdy and the key mechanism is easy to operate. It's also quite heavy. That's my main complaint. I'd still probably buy another one (albeit a smaller one) if I lost this one for whatever reason.

This look is tough as nails. I always have peace of mind when I leave my bike locked anywhere and my bike costs over $1000 so that's saying something. The only downside is that the clip-on attachment for it gradually slides a bit over time no matter how tight you crank down those screws and the lock itself makes noise if you ride over a bump or uneven surfaces because the lock isn't 100% tight when it is locked. Overall it was a great purchase, plus a good price.

Review of Park Tool PT-03 Double Ended Cone Wrench

Park Tool DCW-3 Double Ended Cone Wrench

These hand tools, like most everything Park makes, are extremely well thought out and well made. They give great value to the home bicycle mechanic.

Cone wrenches are required for disassembling, reassembling, and even adjusting loose-ball bearing cones on bicycle wheels.

Often an assortment will be required and sometimes one will need two of the same sized wrenches -most often in the 13mm, 14mm, and 15mm sizes. The Park DCW assortment is sized with combinations with overlap so that only owning 3 or 4 of these wrenches will allow you to cover most any situation when working on common bicycle wheel bearing cones. The wrench comes in 4 sizes and due to the size overlap if you buy only one of each you are covered. There are different common size combinations that one runs into when working on a typical cone and cone locknut -often the combinations are: 13/15, 13/14, and 14/15. If one buys the DCW-1, DCW-2, DCW-3 that will cover most any combination of cone nut flats commonly encountered without having to buy any one single wrench twice. Notice how clever Park was when they created their line-up with built-in overlap of the wrench sizes since one can only use one side of a double-sided wrench at a time.

The tool's coating is a neat non-slip and corrosion-resistant finish that feels nice to hold. The tools nest nicely and have a hole in one end so you can hang them on a hook together on a pegboard if you are into that kind of organization with your tool storage.

Park tools -those guys are thinking so you don't have to!

Pros:

*Excellent value especially considering the very reasonable and low price.

*Intelligent selection of sizes/combinations.

*Long-lasting high-quality wrenches.

*Non-slip, non-corroding finish.

*Hanging hole feature.

Cons:

*Not as much leverage as a long-handled single-sided bench-top cone wrench but Park makes a different professional model too, so it isn't fair to knock these wrenches for what they aren't supposed to be.

I just used one of these wrenches to adjust my rear hub and it worked all right. No marks on the wrench (yet). They do feel a little cheap though (I used to use Campagnolo wrenches back home). Funny: The German print on the package says that they are for hobbyists, the English label praises them as pro tools.

This cone wrench is strong and light. Fits in my bag for when I bike ride.

It's great.

Honest reviews on Park Tool PT-03 Double Ended Cone Wrench

I bought this wrench as a poor man's pedal wrench since it can multitask. It does the job, but make sure you keep some gloves handy for use when putting a lot of torque on the wrench. The edges are fairly sharp and the wrench is fairly short so places to grab it is limited. Overall, a good product from Park as usual though.

It is a fact, that without fail, you will need two cone wrenches of the same size. While I do own several Park cone wrenches, I always find I need to hold the other side. Those who use these type wrenches know that nothing else will work.

My son has a few bikes already, but since I got it for him about a month ago, this is his first choice to ride. It seems well-made and it only took about a half hour to put together. It wasn't too hard and the directions were pretty clear. Normally, I would rather get the bike already put together, but one of the reviews said it wasn't too bad, and I'm glad I didn't let that deter me.

It isn't great for riding on any hilly areas. The tires are plastic and it's hard to pedal it going uphill without the pedals moving without engaging the wheels. But any park with a reasonably level surface is great and it doesn't take up too much room in the car. We let our son ride in the house and in the backyard patio area and I haven't noticed any damage to our laminate wood floors. (Hard to say since our floors have been through a lot with him, though.)

He loves to pretend he is riding a motorcycle and this bike makes pretty cool sounds. I'm totally immune to noise at this point, so it doesn't bother me, but there is an on-off switch for the sounds (and you can always take the batteries out.)

I'm really glad I got this bike even though we have two other tricycles and one 2 wheeler with training wheels. His friends love to come over and ride together, so it's worth it to get an extra bike or two. And the price was so reasonable, I didn't have to get it used. I would definitely recommend this bike.

I bought this for my son's second birthday, and he loves it. Unfortunately, at 3ft tall he is still too short to pedal, but he scoots around in it just the same. My other son is six, and since the seat is adjustable, he can ride around. Which is great, because he is showing my 2 yr old how to ride and push all the buttons. Since it's made of very sturdy plastic, it should last quite a while. The wheels are hard plastic as well, with no traction, so the kids tend to spin out quite a bit. There are a lot of different sound effects, and can be quite loud, but they love the motorcycle sounds. All and all the kids are happy, so I'm happy. Well worth the money.

Our Grandson just loves this pedal riding toy the best, because it has sounds & music. He loves to just turn on the music & dance. It is such a joy to watch him have so much fun!

My son received this bike for Christmas 2007 and has loved it ever since! He plays with it constantly. The sounds are really cute and the batteries have lasted quite a while on it. Would definitly recommend.
