This tire lever is made of steel and has a practical spoke latch. It reminds me of the one I hade 35 years ago. I Ike having three in the bag even though two are often all that are needed.

The only draw back is that they are heavier than the plastic ones. I have never had a steel lever break or heard of one breaking. Some plastic levers come with steel cores and are much cheaper. I have a set. I think it great to have at home.

I am not in a hurry, the bikes I ride are made of steel. If going light is super important these may seem heavy.

When on the road I want the ones I can trust. I know that these will work.

We've had this product since our son was 11 months old. At first he pushed it around--he wasn't tall enough to sit on it and have his feet touch the floor--and it worked fine. The wheels move very easily in any direction, which is a bonus for a very practiced cruiser (freedom to go where they want), but makes it slip away easily for a child who needs help with balancing. I wouldn't recommend this for the stage where they are just beginning to cruise--you'll want a sturdier push cart for that. This small limitation shouldn't discourage you, though, because for us, the real joy of the bike came when my son could start to "ride" it as a bicycle. He was 13 months old before his feet fit firmly on the ground with his bum on the seat and then it was true love. At first, he couldn't quite go straight from one point to another, but he zig zagged around like a little speed racer, smiling and laughing the whole way. After a few weeks of seated riding, he could begin to maneuver it where he wanted to go--even if he was outside and his desired destination was 20 yards away. This was especially fun for him since he wasn't quite waking yet. It is hard to have a crawler outdoors, but this helped him play on rough surfaces without sacrificing his knees.

I am UPDATING this review at 15 months old. My son is now walking very well, and still loves his little bike. It works very well indoors and out, and it is hands-down his favorite toy and has been for the last couple months. It is so much fun that it attracts all sorts of attention from other children and parents. Whenever he sees it, he points to it and lets us know he wants to go outside and play. It seems like a great toy to keep him active and challenge his balance and coordination, and is definitely sturdy enough to survive multiple children. Much older children have ridden it, and I, myself, have sat on it with him. While I obviously wouldn't do that all the time, it did not crack or show any stress from the extra weight. I do think it helped him become an independent walker a little bit faster than he would have otherwise.

For reference, my son was 27lbs and 31" at his 12 month checkup, and he grew into this at about 12 months and 3 weeks, after a bit of a growth spurt. I assembled it myself in about 15 minutes. He began walking somewhere around 13 months, 2 weeks, and he loved it before and after.

I purchased this for my grandson. He is approx. 19 months old, he crawls like a maniac, but has been a bit behind in walking development. He will pull up and walk around furniture, cabinets, etc. I honestly think he is afraid of falling down, so he tends to want to hang on to things. We are a little concerned, and have had him checked at a local childrens hospital (no apparent problems), but also know he will walk when he is ready. Grandma says he is just very cautious in approach to walking and I agree. We have purchased different ride on/walk behind toys and he likes them all but has difficulty turning them because the wheels only roll forward or backward. I suppose that is ok at first and works well for walkers for the elderly, but little guys like this are just learning and want go every where, in all directions, fast. That is what attracted me to this device. The ability to go any direction, quickly, because of the swivel casters on each of it's four legs. GENIUS IDEA, I thought to myself as I made my order. I received this yesterday and promptly put it together (very easy) and was quite impressed by the design, sturdy construction, component fit and finish. Called the daughter up to bring little man over to see his new "thing". What transpired once he was introduced to this was truly remarkable, and awesome. He seemed to like pushing it around while standing, walker style, and did quite well on our hardwood floor and rugs. But what he really liked to do was straddle the seat and walk it around, bike style. Not really sitting on it, but it appeared he liked the security of having a seat under him. After that it was unbelievable how fast he discovered his way around our home, "walking" and not crawiling. It was truly amaizing. When they got ready to go, I told his mom to take it with her to their home. This morning she reports that he took his dad around the house showing him every room. If he gets it in a jam he backs up, spins around and goes another way....on carpet. He actually calls it his "bike" when pointing at it. The YBike Pewi gets 5 thumbs up on PopPop's must buy list. Even if your little one is not having problems with walking, this thing is really fun......at least that is what I would think if I was little.

I was looking for something for our 18 month old that she could turn easily from one direction to the other. She is delayed in walking/standing so she gets tired of crawling. The scooter she was using was hard to lift and turn around. this ones wheels turn 360, its a smooth ride. Shes having a little bit of a hard time holding it still to get on, but we're hoping she'll get strong enough to do it. Its also higher than her other scooter so she's using different muscles. I cant imagine a 9 month old on it, 12mo. and up. Our 3 year old likes it too but he's a little tall.Sturdy, easy to build, cute, smooth ride. Really like it, for us worth the money

Cute bike, good concept, but major issue with tipping forward. One tiny bump on the sidewalk, a crack in the tile, and the kid will go facefirst over the handlebars. Forget riding on carpet. I'm nursing my toddler's bloody chin as we speak. The other issue we have had is when he tries to go "fast", the back wheels bump his feet as he tries to run with the bike. Nice idea but not safe with its current construction.

What a neat product. My parents bought this for my daughter who just turned one. She crawls, cruises, and has taken a few steps but definitely uses the walk behind products a lot right now. The design is ingenious. She can walk behind the "bike" and even turn (which is something she hadn't been able to do with other products). Or she can ride and push the bike. She really seems to enjoy the freedom of movement and is all smiles when scooting around. The wheels are like rollerblade wheels and move easily on the carpet but when she gets on tile she can really move without falling. Assembly was a breeze and the bike seems very sturdy. I do not anticipate any issues. Overall I would definitely recommend this product for a child learning to walk.

Update-While I still think this product is neat it does not work well on carpet. My daughter trying to push it through the carpet has toppled headfirst over the front when it tips because there is too much resistance. I have reduced my 5 star rating to 3. I wish it were more stable.

Got this bike for my 2yo last week after doing a lot of research. Before I talk about the product I need to address the reviews found on this site and others. It is clear to me that many of the reviews were either paid for or written by the manufacturer. Just look at the words and phrasing. Also notice most are not confirmed buyers nor do they have other reviews. Many, many of the same words and very similar phrasing. I'd say 75% of the reviews are fake which really annoys me when they try to game the system. Happens more and more and something needs to be done about it.

On to the bike. Got it in orange and it is a quality bike. Very light, small and adjustable. I actually prefer this one over the mini glider because it has air tires as opposed to foam. Big, big difference. They roll better and just look better. My 2yo had not problem straddling the bike with both feet on the ground. The orange is a great color. All of his friends are jealous because they say he is riding a 2 wheeler. Right now he just walks along with it. May be some time before he glides.

The movable footrest and hand brake are nice to have but he may never use them.

Overall, I think this bike is the best option in it's price range and would recommend over the mini glider and strider.

We ordered the orange bike. It is no longer shipping with air tires, which was the primary reason for our purchase. We will be returning this, as it was not clearly stated prior to our transaction that the bike is now made with EVA.

The bike is around the quality I'd expect for ~$100. Solid, but a little clunky. I purchased this bike since it seemed to be one of the few bikes available for an average height 19month old. He is bike crazy so he doesn't seem to be anywhere close to giving up on it, but he has been frustrated with the bike due its significant weight. I removed the brake and peg bar to lighten the load some, but I wish I had been more aware of the weight. He is not using the seat on it's lowest setting, although he can easily reach the handle bars they seem too far away for his comfort.

I'm sure he'll figure it out, but it's a bit heart breaking to see him struggle with this one when he so easily uses our friends' lighter weight balance bikes. The air tires contribute a lot to the weight and I'm still optimistic that in a few months he'll have developed the strength and balance to make the air tires an advantage instead of a hindrance. Fortunately, the tires inflated fine and there was no problem as experienced by others reviewing this bike that had long slits in the innertube. The bike was easy to put together but clunky in it's quality. Handle bars go up and down but don't adjust closer to seat. Seat goes up and down but can't be moved closer to handlebars. Rear wheel has some sort of built in friction generator even with brake removed that prevents it from spinning freely. I'm sure this is a design feature to slow down gliding speeds but at the moment it just seems to require greater force to push along.

Overall, I think the bike is worth $100, I awarded it 3 stars based on the fact that it seems to be designed for younger/smaller children yet it's weight is a huge hindrance to anyone that size. As he ages I'm sure it'll work out fine, there seems to be plenty of extendability so I don't think we'll have any problem adjusting the seat and handlebar heights as he grows.

Honest reviews on Glide Bikes EZee Glider Kid's Balance Bike (12-Inch)

We've had this bike a year now. We got it for our son several months after he turned two. After about 4-5 months he was balancing without using his feet. We've had tons of people comment on what a neat bike this is, but I have not seen any other balance bikes around. I recommend it to everybody. He can also ride it off-road, thru the yard etc, propelling it with his feet, because of the big tires. He likes to chase our dog around.

It's nice because he can ride a bike like big sis. Tricycles don't even come close.

The one negative I've found is that the had brake is way too hard for a toddler to use, but he just drags his feet when he wants to stop, so it's really not necessary anyway. Just have to make sure they don't wear nice new shoes when riding the bike, unless you want the toes worn out.

This bike has been a great find for us.

I purchased this Ezze Glider Balance Bike for my grandson this year and last year I purchased a Strider Balance Bike for my other grandson. I was much more impressed with this bike. Attractive, solid & sturdy and looked liked a real bike minus the pedals. Most toddlers won't use the hand brake, but looks cool. Now for my grandson's review:

Cam, (nick-named Bam-Bam) who is is strong, aggressive, w/ a leader type personality and thinks he is much older than he is was not impressed w/ the bold black Ezee Glider Bike. His first response, "Where are the pedals? Once on it he said, "It does not work, where are the pedals?" He then threw it on the ground and ran over to use his hand me down bikes w/ pedals and has refused to get on the Ezee Glider ever since.

Comparison Review: Stephen who got the Neon Green Strider Balance Bike is known to think things through before he act and is the type to sit back and watch before he does anything new. In contrast he was happy w/ his Strider Balance Bike and has used it just about everyday. He even rides on it in the basement.

My final thoughts: The Ezee Glider is more eye appealing and is above average quality at a higher cost. Whereas the Strider is a less expense, average quality and basic. Consider your budget when comparison shopping and the child's personality. Side note: My daughter's (the mother's) picked out the bikes I purchased for each child. I did not do any comparison shopping prior to each purchase.
