I took the db0 for a test drive and immediately liked it, i liked the cool look of the bike as well as the fact that it folds, the bike has three manual speeds and three automatic speeds, the manual speeds are controlled by turning the right handle up and down, much like the throttle of a motorcycle, its a common speed changer used on three speed manual bikes. The auto function is set on the control panel where you can set either one, two or three depending on how much assistance you need, to engage the electric drive you must pedal the bike, there is an auto over ride function which when engaged you dont have to pedal for the electric motor to operate, the dealer showed me how to engage this once but I forgot, its not in the manual, If you set the auto on three, and the manual transmission on the bike is set at three and you are riding level, you can easily get up to 20 MPH with little effort, ive driven downhill like this at 30 MPH, at a full charge i got about 10 miles, not very impressive on the distance scale but it was fine, full charge takes about 4 hours, when the batteries were 3/4 charged a full charge took about 30 minutes, how many total charges the battery takes is beyond me, I guess I will find out, the biggest reason i bought this good looking bike was the portability, I bought two of them and folding them up and putting them in a car or boat to take them out and explore anywhere is the best thing about them, I also bought green tires and thick gel foam seats for them and they look awesome, bottom line is they are very nice, the website says the manufacturer is coming out with a 750W motor and a more powerful battery, the existing unit has a 250W motor and the 750W would be much better, I read the 750W version will also have a standard auto drive function, Im sure with a 750W motor, electric cruising on this bike would be totally effortless! I would wait for that and prefer it way over the 250W motor that i have, the difference in price is well worth it, especially if your looking to spend the money that this bike commands, you get what you pay for isnt that what they say?

The bike arrived within less than a week after my purchase, on Friday afternoon. I charged the battery and took it immediately to a test ride on Venice beach at sunset. It did fit in the trunk of my car, and once found a parking spot, I was pedaling in less than a moment. Fun, effortless better than expected! The bike looks small, but appears to be very well built and sturdy, and is actually pretty comfortable, too, even for me (I am 6 feet tall). And what a head-turner; it is definitely much prettier in person a stylish way to live a little greener. Next week I'll start using it for my commute to work one car less on the road in the morning! Cannot wait for more bike lanes, though. L.A., unfortunately, is still not a bike friendly city.

I purchased the DB0 at a local bike shop at a much higher price, wished i had hold a little longer for Amazon listing on the bike.

Having said that, its still a great bike and i commute it to and fro work of about 25km a day..the battery will last up to 40km on normal road but if you do not pedal on it all the time then its journey will shorten by maybe about 20-30%(batt life last longer if its constantly running/pedaling, dont ask me why), i have also tried to seek for modification if the speed can be increase higher than current 22-24km/h(not 25km/h really) but no bike shop can do that due to the batt is lithium polymor, they claimed its not possible to add extra batt like other lith-ion can.

All in all still a beautiful bike to be on but sucks when another old-looking eletric bike cruises by effortlessly.

At the price its going now, get it if you can afford.

PS: The bike frame is manufactured by Ducati, just FYI.

I own one of these and its great for short commutes.

I get lots of comment on how great it looks and its really easy to operate.

One word of caution. It is not an electric scooter the electric assist tops out around 20kph. I looked into this and some states have a 20MPH limit that would require licensing past that speed

It's a half link. It does what it is intended to do. Needed to make my chain just a little longer or shorter, however you want to look at it. Works wonders for tricky single speed conversions.

I converted a mountain bike to a single speed using a White Industries ENO eccentric hub, with 45 teeth in the front and 16 in the rear I couldn't get the right chain adjustment, this half link allowed me to get the right adjustment. Using the ENO hub you want the adjustment to be in the 6 o'clock to 8:45 area, to avoid chain loosening. This did the trick

I just bought one of these Dimension model WE8689 rear mountain bike rims at a local bike shop. Seems to be of very good quality, is AMERICAN MADE, and has what is condsidered to be the strongest, best spokes in the business. Has a Shimano free hub, has a rubber boot covering one axle end and ... if you use those Bell brand dense rubber tube replacement rings (No Mor Flats) you're in for a VERY pleasant surprise because the tire mounted almost effortlessly using a pair of $4 standard plastic tire mount tools (I use Kenda Kross Plus Wire tires size 26 x 1.95)

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this rim for any mountain bike (I have a '96' Diamondback highly sought after and for good reason ... it's early year high end stuff)

I would use this rim on a newer bike as well. Buy with Confidence ...

I love this trike. My balance hasn't been good (due to bifocals, etc), and this trike completely took away that worry. It's very stable. Same trike is available at large outlet stores. The specs given for overall size are odd, and don't reflect the "put-together" final result -it's about 41" to top of handlebars (which can be adjusted a bit), about 28-30" wide, and about 57" long. I couldn't find these figures anywhere on any site, but needed them to make sure the item would fit thru my gate. It does, and I just ride thru it like a breeze! I don't plan to fold it and unfold it often, if ever -I purchased it for the wheel size (closer to the ground!) and stability. I can stand up easily from the seat, solidly on the ground, since the pedals are pretty much directly under the seat, rather than slanted forward as in bikes. This increases my feeling of safety. You ride this sitting pretty much straight up, with good posture. Excellent for my back and hips. Seat is easily adjustable with a clip, so only takes seconds to readjust. I keep mine about 30-31" from ground. Seat is large and wide and very comfortable -no need to purchase a separate, larger seat. Good brakes, large basket. I recommend this tri-cycle for folks who had given up on owning a bi-cycle -excellent purchase for my retirement. Excellent idea for big kids or adults with balance issues.

My father recently purchased one of these porto-trikes for my autisic son's 18th birthday. I took the liberty of purchasing one for myself and for my 16 year old son who has balance difficulty with his 2 wheel bike. We all love them. They ride great and feel comfortable. Ours is single speed so its very important for us to only go on level ground. I did miss having a mirror so I would encourage purchasing one to see the traffic behind you. My boys experience a measure of freedom and independance when they ride their 3 wheelers!

Love this bike! But If I were to buy again would buy the one with

gears b/c you have to be on mostly flat ground for this bike. It is a heavy bike. But very sturdy I use it for grocery shopping! No I'm not kidding! In the basket I put a plastic bin in there so grocery bags will not tip over. I can grab a bunch of groceries that way. (Like 5 reusable bags)

We bought this bike for our special needs son, 15 years old. He loves it and is completely successful.

The bike did require minor assembly, that we accomplished in one evening. The directions were clear and presise. We can not yet comment on the folding function, as I don't think we will use that often. I can tell you that the bike is solid in construction and was easily put into the back of our truck.

I read all the reviews and then purchased the Trike. I am 67 years old lady and I was starting to get a little nervous of riding my old regular bike. I was scared of falling of it. I not fragile mind you, but I wanted a bike I could be more comfortable riding and also go to the store and pick up a few items and do my exercise at the same time.

The reviews on the Trike claimed it was difficult to put together and it was pack poorly, and that parts din't fit correctly.

To that I say wrong, wrong wrong.

It was packed with meticulous care, every part protected and in excellent condition.

Most of the bike was already put together. It had excellent instructions and yes it took me three hours to put together ( I took my sweet time), and I had the help of two dachshunds puppies that insisted on helping me. The finished product looks so good.

So I say it is worth the price. Just read the instructions get comfortable and take your time. No problems at all.

I will say this first, as it may exclude this purchase for several prospective buyers, I'm barely 5'6" and the stride length is bordering on to short for me. It works and at this low price I am still pleased with the purchase; however, I would not recommend this to anyone more than an inch taller than me. The package arrived in a timely manner; however, I'm glad I don't need to return it because the idea of taking the components out of an intact box is completely unfeasible. I had to completely cut down one side of the box. Assembly was doable, but the instructions have several mistakes. It tells you over and over to complete steps in the order they are listed however; you will find that if you listen to them you will end up undoing steps to go back and do something else that needed to be done first. Read each page of instructions and decide for yourself what makes the most sense. I put it together myself, but there were several steps where an extra set of hands would have made it much easier. All in all not bad, of course it's a lot easier to say that now that I'm done.

We received our Best Fitness Elliptical Crosstrainer yesterday and my husband assembled it. He read the instructions all the way through before starting and would strongly recommend that tactic. He noted that some of the hardware was packed separately, while some was already on the pieces where it would end up being used, so try looking on the parts if you can't find the hardware.

My husband and I are both 5'10" & my son is 5'2" and the stride length was comfortable for all 3 of us. The stride length is not adjustable.

The machine is as compact as advertised. We are leaving set up so it can be used at any time and it takes up 5 x 3 feet of 'working' space. The motion is fluid & easy.

The control panel is LCD and is not back-lit. When I stand on the floor, I can see everything just fine, but when I am up on the machine the angle of the control panel causes the numbers to be more difficult to see. I think this problem can be solved by adding a small light in the area where we have it set up. I also think that this may not be an issue for everyone-it may depend a lot on how well-lit the area the machine is set up in is and how tall the user is.

According to the manual, the weight limit for the machine is 250 lbs. I weigh around 225 and it felt stable and safe when I was using it.

The control panel is basic (which is what I expected). You can set time, distance, & calorie burn goals and the machine will beep as you hit each of your targets. You can measure your heart rate. There is a built in BMI/BMR calculator that up to 8 people can use. However, other than the data that is entered for that calculation, the control panel cannot track workouts over time, link a workout to a particular user, nor does it have variable programed workouts like I have seen on some equipment. This is what I was expecting, but may not be completely clear from the product description.

It would have been helpful if instructions on how to open the box & unload the pieces were printed on the outside of the box, rather than being buried on a sheet of paper in the bottom of the box. The machine came with all parts bundled together in a block with styrofoam end caps. We found it easiest to lift both the outer and inner box off of the block of parts, rather than trying to unpack individual parts while they were still in the box. It was very helpful to have 2 people for that part of the process.

Overall I feel like the product met my expectations, it was fairly straightforward for my husband to assemble. He strongly recommends taking the time to fully read all instructions before attempting the installation. The machine is easy to use, fits in the space that we had set up for it, and met our expectations based on the product description. I felt this was a good value for the $400.00 sale price.

Now we just need to use it :)

This elliptical is good for the price. As I am only 5'3", the stride works perfectly for me. The only con I have is the handle bars they're too long. A little hard to assemble, but it's doable ( just read the manual & assess the steps ).

What kind of an idiot would zip tie the front wheel to the frame by the spokes? 3 spokes were bent, another 4 loose. I am going to have to go into a shop to get the front wheel spokes retensioned and checked for trueness.

Also... although this bike rides great, don;t expect the in the barrel shifter to work straight out of the box. I had to adjust it to stop it from hunting between second and first gear constantly. Just search for a video on youtube... not difficult... but a pain if you have never done it.

I will not ding the bike itself any stars for the idiot packaging this... because it really is very well designed and seems really well made.

Other than this, I can;t really fault the bike. It looks to me like it is of the same quality as my wife's Electra I paid over $700 for. And I could be mistaken here... but the position of the pedal looks very much like a copy of the Electra Flat Foot Technology thing... which makes this bike climb like a mountain goat.

I am a short guy... 5'6" and a half! The half is very important :) and it fits me fine.

The gear ratios overall are a little tall for my liking... but this thing is a real joy to ride. Cruising along San Diego with my wife and kids is just a lot of fun. I almost feel guilty seeing sweat drip off the kids as they try to keep up with me.

After a recent trip to San Diego, I decided it was time to buy a beach cruiser. Everybody on them seemed so happy and relaxed. They weren't racing to get somewhere, or negotiating some crazy mountain trail, they were just riding their bikes. I have a very nice mountain bike, but it rarely gets used (since I don't like riding down mountains!). My family enjoys riding bikes, and now that I have the cruiser, I enjoy going with them.

About the bike I didn't like the idea of getting a singel speed, so I got the 3-speed. Very glad I did. My neighborhood has slight inclines and declines, and I love shifting through the gears to find the sweet spot. The seat is big and comfy (though I may upgrade to an even bigger and comfier one since I'm a big guy). Everything on the bike seems well made. For the price, I got more than I was expecting. Paint looks good, hand grips are nice, and the shifter is Shimano. No complaints about the bike.

About the company I have been completely impressed with beachbikes. The bike arrived quickly and in good condition. There was a personalized note (hand written) welcoming me to the family and thanking me for the purchase. I was assigned a mechanic in the event I had any questions (none yet). The website is great as well. There are instructional videos on how to do just about all the maintenance on your bike, and those have helped me already from setting up the bike to adjusting my chain. I am confident that if I had any problems with the bike they would happily help me. GREAT customer service to this point.

I am a mountain biker and demand quite a bit out of my mountain bikes. I purchased the cruiser because I wanted to ride with my younger kids and be able to relax. I can tell you this bike is every bit as good as my 1200 bikes. It's well constructed and spins smothly. I'm impresed with the construction and if ther's a way to best describe the bike is by saying is SOLID. I've owned it for three two years and have had no problems.

Great lock for the city. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is just because I don't know whether or not it can be broken through. No one has tried to steal my Vespa yet. The chain is long enough that it reaches pretty far if you have to park it kind of far away from whatever you're securing it too. And all you have to do is unvelcro the cover and pull it back if you need to tighten it up for a more secure fit. The U-lock itself is much more secure and durable than it even looks on the website. I would HIGHLY recommend this lock to anyone!
