Cyco Cycle 20-Inch Cycle Review

This is the second Cyco Cycle I've purchased for my kids and I am so happy with them. I bought the first one for my 12 year old son in May when he first saw it on TV and had to have one. At first I thought they looked kind of silly and maybe dangerous but finally gave in after he insisted on one for his birthday.

He was so excited when it arrived 2 days later and with the help of his father, they put it together in about 10 min. The Cyco Cycle is soooo much easier to ride than I thought. He immediately started riding it around and could steer without using any hands, I was so impressed! The Cyco Cycle can tip over if you turn too quickly but without any handlebars in the way it is very easy to just step off before falling. Right away everyone wanted to try it out. Both my husband and I even found it easy to ride as our whole family had a blast taking turns. Our 9 year old younger son absolutely loved it also and it instantly became a fight between the two brothers over who could ride it.

So now after a couple of months waiting, we finally bought our second Cyco Cycle for the younger ones birthday and he couldn't be more proud and excited. That first one really took a beating as they rode it and fought over it every day! With the exception of having to re-adjust the seat occassionally when it became crooked, the Cyco Cycle is very durable and easy to maintain. They are built really heavy duty and I can tell they are going to last for years. There are now 7 Cyco Cycles in our neighborhood and we were the first ones to own one. It makes us the "cool family"!

I has been amazing to watch our boys and all of their friends have so much fun as they challenge each other to ride the Cyco Cycle in all sorts of ways. This really is the coolest, most innovative new contraption, (what ever it is), to come out in years. This has been the best purchase we've made for our boys and I would gladly give it 6 stars if I could!!!

Got this for my son (13 y/o) 3 or 4 months ago. Seems like he and his friends are out riding it every time someone comes over. They've tried their best to thrash the thing but it's still holding up strong. It's basically a 3-wheel unicycle made out of BMX bike components. The seat looks pretty scratched up but the frame wheels pedals are all straight and in good condition. Don't know about the paint cause he covered it with stickers. Would recommend for anyone with rowdy kids who need to work off some excess energy! Anyways seems a well made product for $99 bucks.

The Cyco Cycle is incredibly fun. It gives you a sense of freedom that is hard to describe. It is well built but be sure to tighten all of the bolts that are already in place once you take it out of the packaging. They are all very loose. Otherwise it was easy to put together and is so heavy duty that I think it's going to last for years.

I'm going to buy another one so I can keep up with my kids!

I got these in blue for my 1996 Kawasaki ZXi jetski, and they look great on it.

You have to make sure you clean the handle bars really good prior to putting these on, or you will struggle to get them on.

Once on they they look and feel great!

I'm really surprised at how well these grips are made. The fit is perfect, and there very comfortable. I also didn't have to use any grip glue, but I did have to muscle them on, which took about 10 minutes or so. I slightly wet the bar before pushing on the second one, and it went on a little faster.

Great Looking and work great. Bought a set for my girlfriend' bike she loved them. We have to remove our front wheels to place them in our bike carrier and they work better than my sram skewers.

extremely light, fast rolling, but very durable. I ride many charity rides on open highways filled with broken glass and more, have approaching 1500 miles on my last set, they have a few nicks but, new tubes and they will ride several hundred more miles. Think a key to me is inflation to 130 psi, lot of folk afraid to inflate to that point, they are rated to 145, I am 250 lb and they ride great, fast and smooth, recommend them to anyone

This tire is everything it is claimed to be: light, durable, sticky, and fast. Every time inthink I have punctured there isn't even a mark on the tire. Really well done.

These tires are extremely sticky great for cornering.

I've read complaints about their durability and after 1,000 miles which has included some debris-laden roads I would deny these claims.

A little pricey, but worth it for the great feel (and cool aesthetic to boot!).

Let's be honest, these are ball bearings. They are ball bearings for a bicycle. I'm not building a particle collider here, I'm repacking a bicycle hub. This was much cheaper than driving the 60 miles to town with a decent bike shop and buying the right number of bearings from them directly.

what can you say? they were well made. used them in a new bicycle wheel.

i learned later that a local bike shop sells the same tub of 25 bearings for 1/2 the price.

amazon "prime" does not necessarily mean "free" shipping!!

but it's okay. they arrived quickly and i got my bike on the road.

Already read al the reviews of how Mongoose no longer means the quality it used to. Had low expectations going in.

During the unboxing the frame is wrapped in heavy paper, I used scissors without a sharp point to remove this covering. While fitting the scissors under the paper to cut it, it literally scrapped right through the paint. It left horrible marks on the frame, it was like the paint isn't even an enamel. very soft, EASY to scratch.

The assembly instructions are overly detailed and generic to several models, if you have any bike mechanic experience, throw the instructions in the trash and it put it together.

During assembly and bolting the rear wheel on, as I was tightening the nuts to approximately 15-20LBs torque, it striped through the axel threads unbelievable I have never seen such poor quality steel that an axel nut can strip the bolt threads. I had to put on a second nut which fits as the axels are long enough for buddy bars but none are included.

The seat and seat post are one a cheap piece part so the angle cannot be adjusted, the seat is not comfortable and my son complained about discomfort which adjusting the angle would help with. Try to picture why it might not be comfortable.

Yes at this point I am nit picking, but really honestly disappointed. Purchased a Shawn White bike earlier in the year and thought it was cheap, this was much worse.

Basically you have to spend some real money on a bicycle to get any quality. I do not know if that quality exists on Amazon, but I will be checking a bike shop before ordering online again.

These tubes produced a more supple ride with Michelin Mud 2's on Mavic Ksyriums. Can go to lower pressures (around 30ish psi as I weigh 165 lbs) as they seem to be more resistant to pinch flats than butyl tubes. They also don't bleed pressure as quickly as other latex tubes I've tried. All in all, a good product for its intended use. I really like the ride feel and feedback.

I've been riding on my new latex tubes for just over two months now and LOVE them. Max PSI is only 108, so I top them off at 100. I use these on my road bike for my 12 mile commute every day to work. I was averaging between 1-5 flats a month on butyl, I've got two months without a single flat.

Con= I do fill up every morning, but I checked them every morning before I got these too.

Great tire, leaks more, but is MUCH more forgiving.

My bike skills are not fine honed enough to benefit from needing to worry about a latex tube. Installed in both tires. I could not distinguish a faster or smoother ride. Front tube blew after 8 miles. Rear tube ran for about 100 miles on several 20-30 mile rides. I changed back to a normal tube before a 100 mile ride so I would not spend the day worrying about a blowout.

I like these a lot.

I put them on with Michelin Pro4 tires. Immediately felt cushier and livelier. Not quite the feel of tubular tires, but pretty close. Pumping up tires every time before the ride isn't a problem it is simply a good practice. However, I was told these tubes are better for lighter riders and for alloy wheels, because carbon wheels produces more heat and butyl tubes supposed to handle heat better (who really know?)
