Buy Schwalbe Delta Cruiser HS 392 Bicycle Tire (26x1 3/8, SBC Wire
First off, the picture makes these tires look white but they are in fact cream, a warm off white that looks very natural. These tires have excellent flat protection and roll quite well. I don't like the aesthetics of the directional tread, logo printing or reflective sidewall. Since this tire is primarily a vintage application in this size (and especially in this color), it would be nice to classic looks. But overall, a great tire and a great price.I put these on my 1972 Raleigh cruiser. Love the tires. Easy to get on and off, and have held up great so far. I've been riding them in the rain and they have great traction. They also have a very nice, classic aesthetic.

Discount Darn Tough Vermont Women's Merino Wool Stripes Crew Light Cushion
Much as I adored Smart Wool (the look, the feel, the great assortment), every single pair has worn out in the heel and all within one single year. And I own about 45 pairs of 'em!! Now I have the makings for a quite expensive wool sock quilt. Great.
But this year I discovered these Darn Tough socks, and decided I would take them up on their challenge of a lifetime guarantee. Hah! We laughed out loud in the store as we read the terms. They have no idea what my heels are capable of! But they have made it fun and comfy for me during this test-phase; the sizing is perfect, the wool is just the right thickness, and the patterns are nice. I just wish there was more variety. And they do tend to twist around my feet (I go stocking-footed a lot), but not quite as much as Smart Wool.
I will revisit this review with an update after a year, since that was the literal break-point with my old Smart Wools.
Update: 11/03/2012 Still going! 11 months later my Darn Toughs are as thick as the day I bought them, with no wearing out in the heels. Although I loved Smart Wool for many years, I have to say Darn Tough is my sock of choice now.

The socks are great. Like the fact that they're thin, but still warm. Wore some on a trip in Europe with lots of walking, and my feet were fine.Best Deals for Darn Tough Vermont Women's Merino Wool Stripes Crew Light Cushion
I am really enjoying these socks. They are not very thick and do get little fuzz balls on them with wear though. Just can't believe the are life time guaranteed!Honest reviews on Darn Tough Vermont Women's Merino Wool Stripes Crew Light Cushion
These fit well right out of the package. One washing and they are pilling and look a little ragged. Won't buy this brand again.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Darn Tough Vermont Women's Merino Wool Stripes Crew Light Cushion
I love these socks! No seam in the toes is great and they certainly seem like they will hold up for a long time. The wool doesn't cause itching and the socks are warm without being too heavy. I bought two more pairs after I wore these a few times.Saturday, June 28, 2014

Great pump. Key aspects:
1) Steal base is wide and stable.
2) Pressure guage is located at top of shaft. It is easy to read as far as pump guages go.
3) Pumping is effortless. I attached it to my mini-van tires, and with a good deal of pumping, was able to top off the pressure. Not more convenient than a air compressor, but definitely do-able in 5 10 min of pumping if you need to do it.
4) Pressure guage is accurate, and includes a bleed valve so that you can release air without removing the hose from the valve.
Only complaint: the T-type valve adapter is just a little bulky. It could be a problem if you need to get it into a really tight space (this problem is very unlikely for the typical user, but possible I think). A cheap valve extender from your local sports store would fix this problem if it occurs, and it may be worth the hassle to have both schrader and presta adapters permanently affixed to the pump.
Definitely a good buy. Would highly recommend, and would definitely buy it again.
After figuring out a couple of quirks of this pump, I am now satisfied with it. To me, it is a bit of a clumsy operation to get the head firmly seated on the valve and then flip over the lever to lock it down. The tendency is to bend the valve you really have to hold the head firmly while locking it down to make sure you don't damage the valve.
Also, you have to pump till the gauge shows WAY more than you want in the tire to overcome the seal of the Presta valve (yes, I do purge the valve after opening it). Once the valve pops, the pressure reading is accurate and you can start filling the tire. I'm sorta' new to Presta valves and don't know if this is common, but it was not a problem with either of my Topeak Road Morph pumps. (GREAT on-bike pump, by the way.) Hope this helps someone.
Topeak pump is very smooth...easy to attach/detach...easy to inflate...and very durable construction. I was worried from the picture about it's valve design, but the lever is metal and the whole thing works perfectly and very durable.
Having said that, there isn't anything wrong with this pump and I use it every weekend before going on a ride to ensure my air pressure is correct.

The pump didn't work when I took it out of the box the Shrader side of the valve leaked air out as fast as I could pump it in (using the Presta side of the head). The good news is I e-mailed Topeak and they immediately sent a replacement head. I swapped it out and was back in business. -1 for quality control, +1 for customer service. After figuring out a couple of quirks of this pump, I am now satisfied with it. Best Deals for Topeak JoeBlow Sprint Floor Bike Pump
In 2005 I purchased a Topeak JoeBlow Sprint floor pump which I didn't use much in 2007. Anyhow, a couple of weeks ago it got so that it was unable to reach 120 psi without leaking. I went to the Topeak website and contacted the company. They sent a rebuild kit which consisted of a washer and a couple of springs. That did not do the trick. I wrote again (their website states that if you describe where the pump is leaking they will send the correct part). I did that, and today received a complete replacement of the gauge assembly. That has to be over 50% of the value of the pump. I installed it and the pump operates like new. So if you need a floor pump in the future, I recommend a Topeak JoeBlow.Honest reviews on Topeak JoeBlow Sprint Floor Bike Pump

This pump works good, however I should have bought a higher model. For 700 tires where the air pressure is greater than 80psi, it would be better to have the pump that releases the air pressure in the pump before you remove the pump from the valve stem. With this pump, you could lose a measure amount of air just disconnecting the pump from the valve stem. On mountain bikes that take 30-40 psi, this pump is great.Having said that, there isn't anything wrong with this pump and I use it every weekend before going on a ride to ensure my air pressure is correct.

Best Park Tool TW-2 Torque Wrench (3/8- Inch Drive, 0-600 inch Lbs) Deals

Being an avid cyclist, I love assembling, tinkering, and modifying all of my bikes. Four years ago, I added a full-monocoque carbon fiber road bike (2006 CFR-LE) to my stable. I bought the Park TW-2 Torque Wrench to correctly tighten all of the carbon fiber components (stem, seatpost, cranks, etc.) to manufacturer specs and to prevent damage from overtightening. The long handle provides plenty of torque even for the carbon crankset fixing bolt.
The scale on the TW-2 ranges from 0-600 in. lbs. (0-70 NM) and is appropriate for almost all bike components. This torque wrench is fairly easy to use (need to correctly use the swiveling handle) and includes clear instructions and a basic Torque Specifications table. More detailed torque specs can be downloaded from components manufacturers and parktool website. I also use the Park Tool TW-1 Torque Wrench (1/4Inch Drive, 0-60 inch Lbs) for smaller bolts that require less tightening torque.
The Park Tool TW-2 torque wrench has a 3/8" square drive. No sockets are included; I purchased a separate 10 piece Metric Hex Bit socket set that fits all of my bikes' hex bolts (available at local hardware, auto parts, or online stores). Make sure to use carbon assembly compound/paste for properly tightening carbon components (*paste not recommended for CF steering column-stem interface and handlebar-stem interface which can cause slippage).
+ Does not need to be sent off for calibration
+ Durable
Con's:
The identical unit, under a different brand, is available at Sears for 1/2 the price
Plastic handle feels cheap.
Make sure you calibrate it out of the box mine was about 1 nM off and the needle was pressed against the meter. Seems sloppy.
I have several other Park tools and they work well (usually not the best, but better than average). I expected something a little more tailored for bicycle repair my fault (not sure what I was expecting I guess). It's as basic as torque wrenches get.
Docked 1 star for value, lack of calibration out of the box (just bend it back at the wrench head), and the cheap handle. Still, it works and most importantly with no worries about the calibration being off. The sound of carbon fiber cracking is not pleasant.
This, of course, makes me wonder how accurate the wrench is overall.

I originall bought the 60 inch version and am happy with it so I bought the 600 inch version. As I said in my review of the 60 incher, I was concerned about the accuracy and mechanics of the click wrenches that many prefer. The downside of the beam wrenches is you have to be looking at the scale. In my opinion the upside is it is easy to check the calibration (set zero) and I like to be able to watch the torque build by looking at the scale rather than wondering when I am going to get there as with a click wrench. Sometimes simple technology is better in my opinion. Not much to go wrong with this one.Best Deals for Park Tool TW-2 Torque Wrench (3/8- Inch Drive, 0-600 inch Lbs)

This is a great tool. As others have said, the simplicity of this tool is what is appealing. The only drawback is having to be able to see the needle and numbers while torquing. I have always had great luck with Park Tool products and feel good to see the Made in USA stamp.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Park Tool TW-2 Torque Wrench (3/8- Inch Drive, 0-600 inch Lbs)
This is a quality wrench (by feel) however on the one that I received the N/m and the inch/lb scales do not line up at 0. So this makes it impossible to properly calibrate the wrench for both scales. It isn't bad enough to send it back but it is annoying and shows poor quality control. This, of course, makes me wonder how accurate the wrench is overall.

Cheap Shimano XT M770 Rear QR Skewer
I bent the original skewer mountain biking. It is nice I could get the original skewer to replace it. Great!
If you need a reliable rear skewer, this is what you're looking for. Granted, it's a bit on the expensive side, but it uses a much superior "Closed Cam" design. The vast majority of the skewer these days are of the "Open Cam" variety, which doesn't grip as well as this.

One of my mountain bikes has a (difficult to fix) problem where the rear wheel will slide out of position when I hit a bump.
