Ran with the InStep Flash for the first time today. We had the InStep Run Around LTD for a while, sent it back under warranty and they replaced it with the Flash. My husband and I both run 2-3 times a week with our 18 month old, avg of 3-5 miles per run.

Pros:

Attractive orange and gray look great.

Folding very easy folding mechanism, much easier than the old model.

Storage basket very deep and roomy, holds lots of items securely.

Padded seat not actually very "padded" still feels hard, but better than nothing.

Sturdy seems overall stronger and more sturdy than previous model.

Cons:

Handle height I am 5'2" and found the handle to be too high for my comfort. I didn't have as much leverage to make turns, which made steering more difficult. Also, the handle is hard plastic (not cushioned foam), which with sweaty hands, can be uncomfortable and difficult to grip.

No shocks The Flash has no rear shocks, which I feel made for a smoother ride and easier turning with the Run Around.

Bulky can't really specify here, other than to say for a short person, it just felt cumbersome to maneuver/fold/attach and the remove wheels.

Folding takes some practice to get the hang of it. The storage basket needs to collapse a certain way in order for the stroller to fold correctly. Also, the seat back needs to be in the flat/reclined position.

Also worth mentioning I drive a Corolla and was able to fit the stroller in my trunk with the rear wheels removed (which is easy to do). Also, the stroller may veer a bit to one side or the other, but a quick adjustment to the front wheel will help that (though repeated adjustments may be necessary). The manual gives instructions for adjusting the front brake, which I did adjust slightly. It was a little tricky, but doable. The brakes are a little squeaky but do work well.

Overall, this feels like a decent quality, solid jogging stroller (as far as "budget" joggers go). It's not terribly comfortable to run with, but it's probably reasonable for shorter runs (2-4 miles). As long as my child is happy (which he was), I can live with it. For the price, I think it's a good deal.

I love the look, the color, the style but every time I'd take it out for a jog with my 1 year old, it kept pulling more and more to the left. I've emailed the manfacturer hoping for some advice, still haven't heard back. Disappointed that I spent my hard earned money on this....

We had to return it because it steered to the left substantially....so much so that the hand brake could not engage properly. The front wheel was fairly bent...not sure if it shipped that way or was damaged in shipping!

The frequency i19 is light, cheap, straight and easy to build the spoke nipples don't disappear into internal cavities like they do on Stan's rims. Also, my tubeless tires from Specialized seated and inflated easily. I don't have many miles on it, but so far, so good.

Great rims. Strong and light. Nice-looking, too. Price is reasonable, especially compared to the other brands. Built up a set of disc road wheels for my converted 'cross bike with Chris King hubs and Sapim spokes. Light and strong. Very pleased with the rims.

I also had seen this bike at the local bike shops and wanted one for a few years, prior I bought a schwin beach cruiser it was nice but not like this bike. It is everything I expected it to be and it's beautiful!! I just love it. I recieved the bike very quickly and it was easy to put together and the 3 speed is great. Bike is just what I wanted. Stable no nonsense casual cruiser. I have seen these in a local sporting goods store but was able to get it from Amazon for less. The assembly was minimal, even less than product listing states. My only problem with it is that the seat and the handle bar grips are not the same as if purchased direct from Nirve. The picture on Amazon is accurate, I just had not noticed it and was expecting it to be the same as pictured on manufacturers web site. Black Plumeria Island Flower Beach Cruiser on the Nirve site has pink and white flowers on both seats and grips vs Amazon's version is black with cream floral print, as they do have pictured. No big deal, just wasn't observed prior. Overall, very happy with bike!

Love, love, love this bike!! The bike did take a bit of assembly, but nothing a little time and common sense can't overcome. When I first started putting it together, I noticed a large, dried drip of paint on the front fender. I called Nirve directly and spoke with Mark...he took my info and shipped me a new fender ASAP! There was no long explanation, no hassle or hoops. The bike is well engineered and I am stoked to tool around on it once the weather cooperates.

The price was definitely the best from Amazon. The shipping was quick and the packaging was as pristine as a FedEx delivery can be. I would recommend both the bike and Amazon for the perfect cruiser bike.

what you see is what you get---a little bit of assembly--nothing following the directions can't fix--i did have to replace 2 srews since the heads were broken--i love it--my big ole booty is actually comfy on this seat!!! perfect for cruising

This bike arrived in a timely manner, well packaged and in perfect condition. It took about 15 minutes to remove all the padding and about 45 minutes to assemble. Basically, it comes about 85% pre-assembled. It also comes with a small vial of touch-up paint. It is absolutely gorgeous and I love it. Biking is my new passion. It was easy to register online. I had to call customer support regarding terminology, and the customer service tech was courteous and helpful.

(08-10-2011) The weather had been cooperating, so I was riding fairly consistently since January. The bike started making a progressively louder clanging and screeching noise until I was embarrassed to take it out. After finally convincing my son, who knows more about bikes than I do, to take it for a ride, he said, "There's something wrong with the pedal crank and I don't know how you even ride." Since there are no Nirve dealerships in Florida, I took it to the local bike shop. After they diagnosed the problem, I emailed then called Nirve customer service. To make a long story short, Mark handled my problem. Mark was great! Now my bike is in perfect riding condition...and now I'm sad because Florida has officially entered the rainy season and that is impacting on my riding.

I bought this product to replace the shifter on an Electra cruiser. While I am very satisfied with the product and the price I paid, unfortunately the cable included was too short for me. Cable in bulk is so cheap, I would have thought they could include an extra foot or so since this cable is easily cut down. There is no length posted on the product listing, which could be helpful too.

Great product made by a great company. If your are investing in internal hub shifting technology you have made a wise decision. Shimano Nexus makes great hubs and shifters, durable, reliable and responsive. Internal hubs are the technology of the future. There will soon be no need for de-railers what so ever. I kid you not, mine has lasted over 6,000 miles of riding (and yes that number is six-thousand). This is a great investment! Enjoy!

The part was a perfect fit. I was worried that it would be the wrong part or an aftermarket knock off. The screw on the shifter that came with the bike broke off so I ordered this repacement. Be careful when changing tires to not overtighten the machine screw that holds the shifter to the rear wheel it will snap off. Suoer fast shipping from the seller.

Yes compared to the HG61 or HG80 it is heavier, but more durable. Just rebuilt my MTB and most of my new parts were lighter in weight. Switched from steel coil spring to hydraulic front suspension, way much lighter. The crankset and front and rear deraileurs were also lighter in weight, so weight not a big issue to me. The HG80 is what Shimano recommends me to use to match up with all their other mega9 parts to get the best performance from the new drivetrain, but it was becoming a costly project to rebuild my bike frame so I went with the HG50 to cut cost and have no complaints. My chain Sram PC951 shifts up and down the cassette cog smoothly, no skipping or any type of friction noises. Would buy again if needed to be replaced.

This is a entry level cassette, so don't expect light weight. There are lighter cassettes on the market. If weight isn't so important however, this unit is strong and durable. I use it on a touring bike, shifts good, works good, lasts long, and doesn't cost an arm and leg. If you are using your bike for racing, or looking for performance..... spend more to get lighter weight parts.... this cassette is HEAVY. All steel, no aluminum carrier or light weight parts here. That said, for my use, it's fine. If I ever wear it out, I'll buy another.

So I read reviews on this, and several people said it ran on the heavier side of the spectrum (not really true). So I thought it would be worth it to pop for the Ultegra cassette that's twice as expensive as this one. My old one, the tiagra weighed 231 grams (and it was still somewhat dirty) and when my new ultegra came in the mail, I weighed it in at 218 grams. Wow, a 13 gram difference a whopping 0.05% decrease in weight, not worth it! Get the tiagra! I ran it close to 10,000 miles before I accidently rode on stretched chain too long and sharktoothed it I'm sure it would have lasted forever otherwise.

This cog set is 9 speeds, and goes from 11 teeth for the top gear to 34 teeth for the low gear. It's a nice wide ratio to cover everything from steep hillclimbs to high-speed downhills. Watch out for clearance to the derailleur wheel, as 34 teeth is very close to the max for deore shifters. Works flawlessly for me.

I don't have enough experience to tell a good cassette from a bad one, but this one installed easily and works fine in operation. That's enough for me.

This chain/lock is ridiculously gigantic in every measure. I can't imagine actually trying to use this for a bicycle.

The pic makes that lock look like a smallish normal lock. It is not. It's huge.

And the chain is so massive, that if you run this thing in and out of the spokes on any decent wheel, you're going to risk damaging the spokes.

I simply cannot overstate how enormous the size is on this chain and lock combo.

A much better plan would be to use the U-bolt style locks with a standard wire cable. Yes they can cut the cable for the front tire, but they won't easily get the whole bike.

You would have to be very very serious about keeping something immobile to use this. Like maybe a 727 jumbo jet.
