My little 13 month boy really loves this tricycle. He even makes us push him around in the house. The 3 step progression is a great idea. He gets bored with the stroller, but not this. The wrap around barrier is an added plus that I didn't see on the other tricycles. This is especially important for the younger babies. The big disappointment is how it's difficult to steer. I hope Tikes eventually fixes this. For the person pushing, it turns out to be a lot of work when you should be enjoying the walk.

My 11 month old daughter has been using this trike since she was 9 months old. She loves it. She enjoys her rides in it much more than in her stroller, and usually babbles the whole time. I saw that other people said it was hard to steer, but ours isn't. The parent handle turn the front wheel, and I haven't found it to be tippy at all. It works well on dirt as well as pavement. The only problem that I have with the steering is that it has a wide turning radius so you need a fair amount of room to turn, or you can do a three point turn like I tend to if you need to turn 180 degrees. Also, I don't find that the shoulder straps fit my daughter very well. Overall, we really like this trike, and I have no problems with its safety.

We received two of these trikes for a gift for our twins, and we really wanted them to work out for us. Unfortunately, there were several issues:

1. High center of gravity This trike is very tippy. Even with both hands on the parent handle, even small turns make this thing tip over.

2. The pedals don't "catch" on the wheels The kids can turn the pedals, but the wheels don't turn.

3. Most accessories are useless especially the sunshade. It's like a sail that will undoubtedly catch the wind and whack you in the face at least once or twice. And the shade it creates is miniscule.

I would return this if we hadn't already put it together. The red plastic restraint does not stay on the trike, and the shoulder straps are too short and do not fit over my 14 month old's shoulders. There is no way to keep him secured to the trike. The sun shade is just silly. The steering is "loose".

Great idea, daughter loves it, mommy doesnt. Very hard to steer you have to really turn it to make a subtle turn which then overcorrects it. I fear it will eventually snap. You really have to concentrate to steer this thing. Also, the cup holder is a joke. It's really narrow and will hold a small bottle of water. I dont buy bottled water, but use travel mug and sadly it doesnt fit. Her sippy cups dont fit either, but I just throw this in the basket. I do like the solid metal frame itself, but everything else is really flimsy. I'm researching others to see if it's worth returning.

i love my bern brentwood helmet. it's totally functional and lightweight and durable and fits on your head in a way that doesn't look stupid. i get a lot of compliments on the way it looks.

the visor thing is cool too. you can either have a detachable mini-visor to help shield sun and rain or take it off.

it's not super cheap but it's well worth the value. and if you're able to find it used or discounted, there's really no excuse not to get it.

After hours...days...looking for just the right helmet the Bern Brentwood was my top pick. It's super light, has a removable visor (held in by really strong push buttons), and a built in size adjuster belt-clip type mechanism so it's easy to fit. I'm new to biking, so I was very self-conscious about how I'd look with a helmet (it's new york city, you've can't look lame ;-)). The brentwood looks great, and feels like it covers my ENTIRE head without feeling bulky.

Oh, and if you measure your head and are sort of between sizes, get the one size bigger as the built in adjustment works really well.

I never understood why bike helmets looked so dorky for so many years (yeah, I'm talking to you, Giro). Glad to see that companies are now making helmets for the skater/skier/BMXer extreme athlete in all of us. Even if we are just cruising the streets on a MTB. Comfortable fit, very lightweight. I can't find anything wrong with it, to be honest.

Yes compared to the HG61 or HG80 it is heavier, but more durable. Just rebuilt my MTB and most of my new parts were lighter in weight. Switched from steel coil spring to hydraulic front suspension, way much lighter. The crankset and front and rear deraileurs were also lighter in weight, so weight not a big issue to me. The HG80 is what Shimano recommends me to use to match up with all their other mega9 parts to get the best performance from the new drivetrain, but it was becoming a costly project to rebuild my bike frame so I went with the HG50 to cut cost and have no complaints. My chain Sram PC951 shifts up and down the cassette cog smoothly, no skipping or any type of friction noises. Would buy again if needed to be replaced.

This is a entry level cassette, so don't expect light weight. There are lighter cassettes on the market. If weight isn't so important however, this unit is strong and durable. I use it on a touring bike, shifts good, works good, lasts long, and doesn't cost an arm and leg. If you are using your bike for racing, or looking for performance..... spend more to get lighter weight parts.... this cassette is HEAVY. All steel, no aluminum carrier or light weight parts here. That said, for my use, it's fine. If I ever wear it out, I'll buy another.

So I read reviews on this, and several people said it ran on the heavier side of the spectrum (not really true). So I thought it would be worth it to pop for the Ultegra cassette that's twice as expensive as this one. My old one, the tiagra weighed 231 grams (and it was still somewhat dirty) and when my new ultegra came in the mail, I weighed it in at 218 grams. Wow, a 13 gram difference a whopping 0.05% decrease in weight, not worth it! Get the tiagra! I ran it close to 10,000 miles before I accidently rode on stretched chain too long and sharktoothed it I'm sure it would have lasted forever otherwise.

This cog set is 9 speeds, and goes from 11 teeth for the top gear to 34 teeth for the low gear. It's a nice wide ratio to cover everything from steep hillclimbs to high-speed downhills. Watch out for clearance to the derailleur wheel, as 34 teeth is very close to the max for deore shifters. Works flawlessly for me.

I purchased a set of these extenders in January 2013 after obtaining a set of carbon deep dish wheels.

I use Lezyne road drive & floor drive pumps, and I really like the threaded chuck on those pumps; it means I never have to worry about the pump coming loose during inflation, or needing to hold the chuck in place with one hand. Much easier.

These are well-machined and come with a bag of replacement o-rings to ensure a solid seal with your presta valve.

As for Lezyne customer service, about a week ago I had a puncture, my first with the carbon wheels. Upon attempting to take the tube off, I found that the bottom of the extender had become corroded and it basically fell apart as I took it off. The other extender from the front wheel was just fine, so I used that to pump up the replacement tube and finish my ride.

I emailed a picture to Lezyne (I've uploaded the same picture here to Amazon) and they sent me a full replacement set of valve extenders in just 3 days, free of charge; excellent warranty coverage.

Given that only one extender corroded, I'm inclined to believe that I rode through some type of chemical which ate away the aluminum in that area. Who knows what the heck is on the roads these days. It is definitely not a manufacturing defect.

I'm very satisfied with the product and with the service I received. I'll continue using these on my Zipps in the future.

Top of the line high end hollow pipe with extra bearing on drive side. outstanding quality and in use daily. Efforts to keep unit dry are helpful. remove seat stem to eliminate internal condensation in wet climates.
