List Price: $199.99

Purchased this for our boys 6 year birthday present.
When getting it out of the box we were impressed, seems well made, rubber wheels, simple design. It was rather easy to put together, only taking 15-20 minutes. Once together we had our concerns about its capable speeds. There is no gear or sprocket, just the simple U shaped thin bar axle/pedal system... so it is not capable of bicycle speeds and seems limited as to how fast a little boys can actually pedal the thing. I am not sure how long before our boy gets bored with it, but it has been over a month and he still prefers that over his regular bike.

The bike is great. It reminds me of the beach pedal cars. The seat is adjustble as your child grows. Way more fun than the traditional bike, because you need to use the handles (up or down) to steer. Also a good way to challenge your child's hand/eye coordination that is a form of excercise that is not an electronic game. Also, because the bike has three wheels and is low to the ground, it would be great for kids with balance issues or are just not ready for a two wheeled bike. Because it is so low to the ground I would recommend a flag on a pole attached to the bike for more visibility by others for safety.Best Deals for YBIKE Explorer Go-Kart
My son is Autistic and we had a lot of concersna bout him on a regular bike as he has some impulse issues. He loves this Go-Kart. For us we get the comfort of knowing that he will not fall off this like he could a regular bike. More importantly he has very quickly adapted to riding on it and it has been an excellent reinforcer. Any kid would love this but for me I especially encourage parents of special needs kids to take a look at this as a way to bridge to riding a bike. I could not be happier. I will also say that I had to contact the company over a piece that was missing and not only were they prompt in their reply they sent an entire parts kit should anything need replaced in the future.Honest reviews on YBIKE Explorer Go-Kart
Loved the bike for my son, while it lasted. Two weeks after he got, the fifth time he was riding it, large chunks of the rubber tires in front started coming off. I cleaned the tired just like the instructions said to after every use. It is very disappointed to buy something this expensive for it to fall apart that quickly, and all he rode it on was our smooth black top driveway, nothing rough. Shipping it back, and not getting another one.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for YBIKE Explorer Go-Kart
We gave this to our granddaughter for her sixth birthday and she loved it. Her little sister (2yr) wished it was for her! She wouldn't get off of it!! It is very unique. Easy to assemble and something different that keeps their interest.Sunday, August 17, 2014

I purchased this item for my 2 year old's birthday. Unfortunately he is not quite big enough to reach the pedals, but his older brother (almost 4) loves it. He is zipping around the driveway and we even put out pieces of plywood for 'jumps'. He has used it all summer with zero problems.
I read the complaints about the durability and was concerned about purchasing the big wheel, but there is not alternative product out there in the same price range. I decided to go for it and I'm glad I did. Make no mistake assembly is a pain. Everything went smooth except getting the pedals on. I ended up taking it into my shop and bracing it on my work bench while I tapped the pedal into position with a hammer. I was worried about breaking the plastic with the hammer, but using extra caution I was able to get the pedal COMPLETELY into place. I suspect that anyone who had problems with the pedals falling off only got the pedal on partway. It took 10-15 minutes to get these pedals on and I couldn't pull them off if I tried.
If you're looking at the big wheel for your little one, I say go for it. Instructions should say 'patience required', but take a deep breath, do it right the first time, and then sit back and enjoy watching your kids have a blast zipping up and down the driveway.
Our biggest complaint is the durability of the front wheel. The pedal axle has a rectangular block that engages the "big wheel" and that keeps popping out. This is very frustrating because I recall wearing holes in the plastic tires as a kid.
We have had about 3 months of fairly good use which is not really what I expected. I would not suggest a this toy. We, as consumers, need to be less concerned with how inexpensive something is and more concerned with quality.
The quality of this toy does not make the grade.

The is a classic toy. I remember mine as a kid, and recently bought one for my two year old daughter. While assembling it Christmas Eve, I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the parts that are included to put the bike together. Two flimsy "cap nuts" are supposed to be hammered onto the end of the rear axle to hold the tires on. These simply keep falling off, along with the wheels. Real fun. Also, the pedals are supposed to be hammered on and held in place with "lock washers". One of the washers snapped and so the pedal fall offs too. The manufacturer could easily throw a couple extra of these fragile parts in the box--especially when the design is so poor.Best Deals for Big Wheels 16 inch The Original
I also was a owner of the original big wheel and bought two of these for my grandchildren. They are of poor quality--nothing like the original and they do not hold up for little rough boys. I had two sons and they did everything possible to the original and it just kept rolling---NOT so with this oneHonest reviews on Big Wheels 16 inch The Original
We bought a similar big wheel (same manufacturer) for my 3 year old and he had an issue with the pedal length. We solved by just sliding the seat forward and drilling our own hole and have had no problems since. Our biggest complaint is the durability of the front wheel. My son got this for his 3rd birthday. He received it as a gift already assembled. The pedal fell off within 15 minutes. We tried using a hammer to pound it back on, but no matter what we did it wouldn't stay on. Called customer service and left a message on their machine. Just when we were thinking they were never going to return our call, a package arrived with 2 new pedals. We haven't even put the new pedals on yet, because at 39" tall, my son still can't reach the pedals enough to really ride it. Instead of saying age 3 and up, I wish they would list a recommended height in the info section.Friday, July 25, 2014
Bell Fraction Youth Multi-Sport Helmet Reviews
I purchased the small size last year for my now 3.5 year old. At the time, with the thickest padding in place, the helmet would not sit on top of her head without sliding back. Upon tightening the chin strap, the helmet would still try to slide back and it would then cause her pain at her throat.
The chin straps are also of a satin slippery finish and they loosen after a half hour or so of wear. Last year I thought that perhaps she was just too small, but now one year later the helmet still fits her the same and still has the same issues. She is an average sized kid with average sized head so there is no special concern here.
So, I recently bought myself a Bern helmet and found that it fit better than any helmet I have myself owned, and now I am going to get my kid a Bern youth size. I am hoping it won't look like a "spaceship landed on top of their head" like this Bell helmet does.
While the two padding sizes that come with this Bell helmet are in theory a good idea, it seems however that the paddings and the weight of the helmet are not well placed. I like that the Bern helmet simply comes with an adjustable velcro strap in the back (much like a baseball cap) with which you can tighten the helmet in place. It also wraps around the skull as opposed to sitting on top of the head like the Bell appears to do.
Update: I did get the Bern Nina helmet and found it to be a vast vast improvement over this Bell helmet. No comparison at all. The Bern sits firmly on her head and does not move at all, and like the adult version it has the adjustable velcro strap in the back smart. I also like the style better, its more 1950's Italian motorist than spaceship on top of head. The best part is that the helmet has options for winter padding and summer visor, which is a huge bonus. I am very happy to get rid of the Bell helmet now that we have the Bern, and my daughter is no longer complaining about wearing a helmet.
The helmet comes with 3 sets of velcro-attached pad sets and he's using the set for the smallest head size.
He loves wearing it, often running around happily even if he's not using his bike. The only downside is the excessive amount of chin strap, I can't imagine even when his head is at it's largest he'll ever need all that strap length.
Extremely cool color and design. He hasn't fallen in it yet, so I don't know how it protects, but he has chucked it across the room and it seems tough and able to withstand the emotional vagaries of a 19month old.
It fit him really well out of the box, no adjustments.
It is a really sturdy, thickly padded, well made helmet.
My son really loves to wear it, and won't take it off sometimes after we get home.
Looks great.
My son has already taken a few spills, and I was glad he was wearing it. Overall, we are very pleased. I will be buying the next size up when my son gets bigger.

This is by far the best helmet out there. Its strong and cool. Plus with the extra cushions, your kid can grow into it. Dont get an XS, get a Small for a 20 month old toddler. They are always growing so fast, it does not make sense to get a smaller one. My son likes it, he leaves it on, its comfortable.Best Deals for Bell Fraction Youth Multi-Sport Helmet

Buy Schwinn Men's Phocus Bicycle (Black)

Well first off I would like to note that the 2 previous poor reviews were from people who don't own and did not buy this bike. One does not like Schwinn (does not own bike) and the other was complaining about the lack of info in the ad, and then stated he wouldn't buy it anyway (does not own bike). Well, I don't give either review any weight.
I could find little info on this bike via the web. I was worried about the size as I need a taller bike being 6'1.5" with a 34" inseam. I don't have a money tree so I couldn't spend a lot on a bike. I was tempted to buy the GMC Denali. I went to WalMart and looked at one and found that it looked good and was a very reasonable price. I compared it to the Schwinn Varsity and found the the Schwinn looked to be a better quality but was a bit small for me. When I saw the Phocus I couldn't find a size anywhere. So I downloaded a photo of the Varsity and superimposed the photo of the Varsity over the one of the Phocus. Not perfect, but it showed the Phocus was taller by a couple of inches, in theory this would make it just right.
The bike comes with many upgraded parts as compared to the low end Schwinn's and most of the department store bikes so I took a chance and ordered it. Free shipping got it to my residence is 5 days (ordered on a Sunday arrived on Thursday). Double boxed, the Schwinn box inside a second heavier box. After unpacking took about 15 minutes to assemble and another 30 minutes or so to adjust and check over. Only needed an allen wrench, a phillips screw driver and a small adjustable wrench, not hard but YMMV.
Very nice looking bike, looks and feels much better than the lower end bikes. I was able to find the original price was $420.00, so it wasn't cheap, although I assume it's a cheap bike to those who buy bikes costing a thousand or more.
The size is spot on for me (34" inseam, with shoes 34.5, if your inseam is less than 32" be careful.
measurements;
seat tube, from the base(center of crank)to the top of seat post: 23.5", 59.7cm
seat tube, from the base(center of crank)to the center of top top tube: 21.5", 54.6cm
I will note that the upward slop of the top tube makes the seat post measurement a bit odd as the top bar is lower at the back than the front, similar to a mountain bike but not as drastic. If the top tube was straight it would measure at 23", 58.4cm (center to center)
top tube from center to center: 21.5", 54.6cm
The stand over height varies due to the upward slope of the curved top tube, this results in 3 separate measurements;
rear: 31.75", 80.6cm
center: 32.25", 81.9cm
front: 33", 83cm
Weight is 26.5 lbs.
The shifters are a bit weird I'll update after I get used to them.
With the lack of info on this bike I believe it was a short production, now discontinued item. I will write to Schwinn and post a follow-up.
I'm happy with my purchase and hope you find this review helpful.
Also keep in mind that this is a large framed bike, my inseam is 29 inches, and I wish I had about 2-3 more inches of clearance, so I would recommend you be about 6 feet tall or have an inseam of about 32 inches to be really comfortable.
Riding this bike for commuting has been a breeze compared to my old mountain bike, since I work in an urban hilly area. The old mountain bike was from a big box store and didn't have a locking suspension, you loose all your momentum going up hill on a full suspension bike. The hills are so much easier now, it's like night and day. I think that I'm going to put about 1000 miles on this bike and if I really enjoy bike commuting I'll upgrade to a $600-$900 bike after that.
If you are a commuter, keep in mind that this bike I'm assuming is a race model, or stripped down model. There are no eyelets for mounting a pannier rack on the back or fenders. I didn't even know to look for that since I'm not an avid rider.
Still having fun on this bike.
Love this bike.
Update:
I've sold this bike, some it was my fault, some of it was the fault of the bike. This bike was not a good fit size for me, and the components are very low end. I ended up wearing out this bike after a month of very hard commuter riding, which is not the intended purpose of this bike. It doesn't have eyelets for commuter accessories like panniers or fenders. I really wish that it did have those, wet riding is not fun in this bike. Also I did have an accident on this bike which completely ruined the rear deraiuler, and the rear wheel set is not meant for a person over about 150 lbs, I snapped 4 spokes almost immediately. The frame is not a bad frame, if it fits your body size, but this $250 bike needs about another $500 worth of basic upgrades to make it a reliable daily use bike.

I have gripes about this bike, but overall I'm very happy with it. After riding it for only two trips probably about 4 miles total I lost the back inner tube. Most of the parts seem to be fairly sturdy, but the inner tubes will probably need to be replaced after the first couple of rides. I would recommend having it tuned up immediately assembly, my wheels need to be trued and the wheel tape will more than likely need to be adjusted. I think that is what popped my tube. Also keep in mind that this is a large framed bike, my inseam is 29 inches, and I wish I had about 2-3 more inches of clearance, so I would recommend you be about 6 feet tall or have an inseam of about 32 inches to be really comfortable.

I ride a lot (19.2 miles into work and 19.2 miles home) mostly on closed course bike paths. I've had my share of flats with other tubes but with these... The tubes are practically tires by themselves.
For those who say that these will add to your mile time... When it comes to shaving weight, start with the rider. I'm well over 200# and can still average 20mph into work on the first two rides of the summer. I'm hoping that as the season progresses I'll be able to drop my excess pounds. If shaving 3oz. off my tubes can get me to 20.5mph, by the time I drop 30lb from my less than aerodynamic paunch perhaps I could reach 40mph... or perhaps not.
I have not had a flat since installing these, (over 850 miles). I typically ride between 20 and 50 miles almost every day.
I've heard all of the arguments against these tubes. Yes, they are heavier than those light weight racing tubes, but I'll tell you what, If you and I are riding the same race, and we are physically equal, you might be leading me by f seconds at the end of 20 miles. However, if you have a flat, I'll pass you and win the event while you are still repairing your light weight tube. Also, I can skip a snack the night before, and lose those extra few ounces and make us equal again.

I am riding desert roads, and let me tell you what: that they are the nastiest around, cracks, pot holes, sharp objects, and other obstacles. In results, I had 6 flats in one day, since the inner tube was beyond repairs,I came back 4 hours later. I was impressed when I received it, I was expecting a little higher quality inner tube and instead I had ultra thick heavy duty tube, I have been riding it for 60 miles so far without any problems, and decide to upgrade the back also as well, considering the price it is a awesome deal. However one regret, manufacturer should have extend the stem to an extra 10mm, the actual stem size made it hard to inflate on my new alloy rim.Best Deals for Sunlite Thorn Resistant Bicycle Tube 700 x 18-23 (27 x 1) 32mm
Seems to keep thorns out but it is a little challenging to install due to its thickness. I hope it gets easier, but, then again, I should never need to replace it, right?Honest reviews on Sunlite Thorn Resistant Bicycle Tube 700 x 18-23 (27 x 1) 32mm
In fairness this should be 3.5 stars: I rounded down because lots of others gave it 5 but this needs to be noted. Yes... it is very heavy-duty and I have not yet flatted on them--but they are REALLY heavy. Put them on both tires, and you might see your average speeds go down .3-.5 mph. So if you are a city commuter and losing a minute or two doesn't matter... they're great. If you're concerned about pace (not just races: but keeping up with your Saturday morning group...) then note that this IS a trade-off.

My 2 1/2-year old was so excited when he received this tricycle. Assembly wasn't too difficult & was complete in less than 10 minutes. My son is tall for his age, so he can reach the pedals just fine when the seat is on the highest setting. However, he is so used to using his feet/legs to push himself on these types of toys, that he doesn't yet understand the concept of the pedals & doesn't want to be shown. I'm sure that will come with time. For now, he's enjoying it just the way that he wants to, and that is fine by us. The only down-side (that doesn't change my rating) is that his feet sometimes bump into the back wheels while he pushes himself. This of course will be remedied once he figures out the pedals.
Like the other reviewers, I'd say this trike would probably be more appropriate for a 3or 4-year old. It is sturdy and well weighted, but might be a little too big for the lower end of the recommended age of range 2-5 years. The adjustable feature of the seat will be handy over time, and the price is great when compared to similar products.

I think the seating position does not allow shorted kids to comfortably use it. Would be possibly fun for ages around 4 yrs.Best Deals for Fisher-Price Grow-With-Me Trike
Bought this for our three year old grandson. His father said he loves it! He is able to manuever it and ride without any difficulty. The seat makes it easy to adjust to his size and as he grows. I would recommend this to and "new" drivers!Honest reviews on Fisher-Price Grow-With-Me Trike
I chose two of these for our twin girls aged 2 1/2 years. They were so excited when they saw the trike boxes and even more so when we had built them! The trickiest part was the wheel nuts and the stickers supplied have been peeled off already. For the price these are great toys for youngsters to gain confidence and balance, have fun and learn how to coordinate the pedals before using a two wheel bicycleFind helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Fisher-Price Grow-With-Me Trike
Super fast shipping, easy assembly. My 2 year old had to grow a little to fit pedals. Loves it now.
