It is an inexpensive 1:1 actuated replacement derailleur for a SRAM ESP 3.0 I had that was really cheap. Like the 3.0, this one has too much plastic and press fitted cage, but it shifts very well. I would suggest using it for street use only. For the price, it's worth it.

The derailleur on my son's Trek MT220 broke and this appears to be exactly the same thing as the SRAM 3.0 derailleur that was on it. The fit is perfect and the bike is back on the road now shifting better than ever. The bike is being handed down to my daughter and this will give it a few more years of life.

Works fine. I bought this because I had bought a SRAM trigger shifter, but it would not work with my older (1988) Shimano derailuer. I wish it had removable pulley gears, but I can't complain considering the price.

Honest reviews on SRAM X.3 Long Cage Rear Derailleur (Black)

It does the job, and price was a fraction of what the local bicycle snob shop wanted. One Two Three.

Replaced shimano tourney with this SRAM derailleur and wow what a difference. Very easy to install and adjust a longer cable may be required.

I waited a few days to review this purchase to see how it works in rain and dew. Basically I like this cover.

Pros:

It's lined with a silky parachute material that makes it lightweight but easy to maneuver over bike components. The outside silver is also slick.

The black wheel, seat, and handlebar outlines are quite handy and the contrasting material looks good.

It's nicely shaped to a bike's outline.

The light elastic at the bottom is some help to keep it curved to the bike. A clip is needed under the bottom bracket to keep it on securely in wind.

It's fairly sturdy without being stiff plastic.

Cons

Pouch is too small to cram it back in easily and without risking tearing the material with the zipper. I wondered why such a tiny pouch.

Why is the cover so short? The bottom quarter or more of a 26" bike are exposed to rain. Lot of important components down there. My tiny folding bike has 20" wheels, and the cover still doesn't reach to the ground in front. I would never have been able to use this on my good Blur.

The seat and handlebars and any other components touched by the cover are damp with moisture in the mornings. Dew seeps through. Most rain rolls off, but moisture still gets through. I've had this problem with a previous cover, and I just keep a plastic bag for over the seat and handlebars at night. Then I put the cover over that.

This bike cover is sufficient at first, but, after owning it for a while, I see that it has some major flaws. It doesn't cover the wheels entirely, it doesn't fit back into the zipper pouch once opened, and it tears like crazy after a while. I've considered duct-taping the inside where all the holes are, but then I ask myself: why don't I just buy a better quality bike cover?

Best Deals for Topeak Bike Cover (Mountain Bikes)

I purchased 2 of these for the bicycles my wife and I ride. They are exactly what I needed to protect our bikes from dust and moisture when parked on our back porch. They are certainly good enough for temporary full weather exposure as well. Our bikes are different brands, mine a mountain bike and hers a ladies cruiser. The covers fit well for both bicycle shapes. There is an integrated pocket to fold the cover into it you want to carry it with you, which would be useful if you are riding to work or school, I suppose. Integrated elastic around the base of the cover ensures a good fit across the tires.

January 9, 2011: I thought it might be helpful to report I'm still using these after more than 3 years and they are still in great shape. The elastic is even still good. When I hose off the porch, I blast these (on the bicycles) to knock the dust off so they've had their share of abuse. I continue to be very pleased with them.

Honest reviews on Topeak Bike Cover (Mountain Bikes)

This works on smaller bikes. I have a comfort crusier and it is kind of difficult for the plastic cover to cover both wheels. I don't want to strech it to much because I don't want it to tear.

Ar first I really liked this cover as it fit my bike well. I ordered a second one when I bought a new bike from AMZN. It last about a year before it rotted and tore. For this price I think it should have lasted at least 2 years. I will not purchase another one, so if anyone has found a durable cover in this price range please let me know. Thanks.

Buy Mini Micro Scooter with T-bar Handle (Children's)

Mini Micro Scooter in BLUE, for ages 3-5. Winner of the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold and Platinum Award Seals - ALSO available in Green, Yellow, Aqua, Orange and Pink
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

My twins just turned 3, and after seeing some kids at the park riding around on Spiderman and Radio Flyer 3-wheel scooters, the constant refrain from both of them was, "let's get a scooter!!" I researched a TON and was leaning toward the Razor Jr., but after reading the reviews that it was just too slow for some kids, and that all the child could do was push push push, I decided not to take a chance on it. Then I saw this scooter and it sounded great. I called the company, Kickboard USA to clarify the weight issue, and was told that it goes up to about 60 lbs. Okay, great. I also asked if they thought my son, who is a little behind in motor skills, would be able to manage this scooter, and after much discussion (great customer service!), I decided to buy two of these and give them a whirl. I bought blue for my son, and I knew my daughter would want pink. Also ordered two Bell helmets. Amazon shipped both right away.

Needless to say, the morning of their birthday when they opened the back door and saw two new scooters with helmets dangling from the handlebars, they were GIDDY! They both jumped on and it was slow-going and a bit awkward at first. These scooters can go fast the kids seemed to intuitively know this, though, and took things cautiously. They didn't understand the steering concept yet. But after an hour or so, they felt more confident and were pushing along. They'd raise their foot up for a second and then put it back on the ground and push some more. They were having a great time.

This scooter is lower to the ground than any I've seen, which makes it easy for the kids to ride. The two wheels in front make for great stability and maneuvering. Fast forward to about 2 weeks into using these scooters and both kids enjoy them a lot, but especially my son. He's a scooter fanatic! He has gotten so good at riding it and the steering just came naturally when he realized that as he leaned, it would gently turn in the direction of the lean. The brake is a great feature, but so far my kids don't really get the concept of it. They just put their foot down or sort of "hop off." I imagine as they get older and more proficient, they'll get the groove of the brake. My son now zips around with all the bigger kids at the park. The Razor Jr. and Spiderman scooter kids are envious and slower. I imagine it won't be long until they're bored with their scooters and want to graduate onto something better. I don't have that worry with these scooters. They look cool, which the kids love; they aren't "baby looking" at all. I was also so happy not to have to buy something with a television character on it!

These scooters are built to last from what I can tell. They come with some cool stickers, too. I cannot tell you HOW MANY parents have seen my kids on their scooters and sidled up to us to ask about them. Yes, they are more expensive, but for the longevity my kids will get out of them, and the peace of mind I have that they're probably the safest scooters out there for preschoolers, it was WELL worth the cost. Neither of my kids has had anything other than a minor tumble on them so far, but you know, I expect that. Kids are gonna fall. They always wear their helmets it's a non-negotiable rule and so far they actually think their helmets are cool (got two of the Bell Bellino Toddler helmets love them!).

Caution: I would advise parents, however, not to let your kids ride these scooters on sidewalks or other areas where they might get away from you and risk danger. Also stay away from paved paths with inclines and dips. As I said above, these scooters can get going, even with the kids just pushing off with the foot and not fully "riding" it, and I have to hustle to keep up with my kids. We only let them ride these scooters in enclosed parks with paved paths or the cement area of our back yard.

Bottom line: If you are looking for a scooter your preschooler will LOVE, will last a good long time, and something sturdy and safe, this is the scooter. :-)

We recently purchased this scooter new online from Microstore USA, and could not be happier. Microstore shipped it quickly, the shipping was free, and it was as exactly described. We also paid less for it than the $ price listed by the sponsored vendor on Amazon.

As others have noted, this is NOT made by Huffy, but by Micro, a Swiss company. We actually purchased this scooter to replace our Huffy one which we had had for about 3 years. At the time we purchased the Huffy one, we had no idea that it was a knock off of one made by Micro. Our Huffy one was fine, but the plastic did chip off in quite a few places and the brake tore off a while ago.

While it remains to be seen whether our new Micro brand is more durable, I have to say from the outset that it handles much better than the Huffy one ever did. Just by putting my weight on it and leaning from side to side, I can see that the turning properties are far superior to the Huffy one. If you are unfamiliar with the scooter's design, what makes it so fabulous is that it has two wheels in front and one in the back and by leaning one way or the other, your child can easily maneuver and turn and sway. I found it interesting in viewing the Microstore website that Micro also makes other 3 wheel scooters for bigger kids models with more bells and whistles lest you think that three-wheeled scooters are only for preschoolers.

One thing I was surprised and a bit disappointed about when I received the scooter is that, on the outside of the box, it says the scooter IS made in China. While it may have originally be designed and built in Switzerland, if the packaging is correct, it is now manufactured in China, just as the Huffy knockoff was. This is not to suggest that the quality is poor, but I think it should be known that it is NOT made in Switzerland.

Regardless, my son loves it, it was worth the $, we were happy with Microstore USA, and so far it appears to be a superior product to the Huffy model, not to mention, in my opinion, the best 3-wheeled scooter on the market.

UPDATE May 2008 The scooter is still going strong, no chips, hardly any wear, and my now-5 year old still loves it as much as he did on day one!

2nd UPDATE JUNE 2009 Still going strong, BUT...my son broke the brake on the end off. It is not difficult to do, and is why we bought this new scooter in the first place. If your child pushed the brake up, rather than down toward the tire, the metal can bend and break off and it is not repairable. I wish I had told my son this, as it happened with the last one we had, but I hadn't. It is still usable, but with care since there is no brake to stop the scooter. I would advise you child NOT to push the brake up, but down only!

I'm not even quite sure what my son is saying about the scooter, but hopefully you can see he likes it alot and has a bunch of fun with it!

Honest reviews on Mini Micro Scooter with T-bar Handle (Children's)

This scooter is simply the best one out there because the 2 wheels are in the front, they don't get in the way of the kids trying kicking off with their feet. And because to turn, they have to lean vs steer, I feel it is safer as it tends to just go straight. As the kids improve, they figure out how to turn, but that's what's so good, they do it at their own pace. Even though this scooter says it's for age 3, we bought it for my son's 2nd birthday because he tried someone else's and shocked us by being able to ride it well. He had tried those other 3-wheeled scooters with the 2 wheels in the back and couldn't really ride them the design of this one is just so superior. He absolutely LOVES LOVES LOVES it and just about every day, people ask how old he is and they are shocked, they say they can't believe how well a 2-year-old can ride a scooter. But it's not him, it's this scooter! Don't waste your money on the cheap "cartoony" scooters, just get one of these, your kids will be zipping around in minutes!

I was considering purchasing this for my 5 year girl but when I saw the weight restriction of 44 lbs, I was hesitant thinking she would outgrow it within the next year.

However, after checking out the manufacturers website, I found this when has now made me decide to purchase this safer looking scooter than others for my little girl:

"* The mini scooter is designed with a weight recommendation of 70lbs. Please note that the bottom of the scooter shows a weight limit of 20kg, which is 44 lbs. The reason for the discrepancy is that European standards dictate that weights are displayed only in increments of 20, 50 and 100kg."

My wife loves her Torker Tristar. However, with only three speeds here in on the edge of the hill country in Austin, she could not keep pace with me on my 8-speed bike. After a bit of research, I found this handy kit, and took it upon myself to upgrade her ride. The swap itself was fairly simple once I manged to removed the axle gear's key. I got help from my LBS in getting the chain lengths just right, and now our rides together are quicker on the flats and easier up the hills.

Caveat lector: I installed this hub myself, and I service it myself, so my problems may be wholly my own.

It should be noted that despite the headline, this is a Sturmey-Archer QS-RC5. I was aware of this when purchasing. My order was filled by Niagra Cycle Works, who were very quick about getting a missing part to me.

This is my first experience with gear hubs, and it hasn't been a great one, primarily due to the shifter. Like all gear hubs with the exception of the Rohloff, indexing is done at the shifter, not in the hub, which is a fundamentally broken setup. It means every single time you need to remove the cable for any reason, (and that is necessary to remove the hub for service, adjustment, etc), you must readjust the cable, and the adjustment is VERY touchy. It can also come out of adjustment on it's own.

The cable in my case was also about 1/2" too long, and I had to shim it to even be able to shift at all. There is no trimming the cable length, either, as it is capped at both ends, and the caps are what hold the cable in place.

The coaster brake can stick if one stands on the pedal at a stop, but that seems to be par for the course with coaster brakes, in my experience.

When the stars align just right allowing the shifter to be in proper adjustment, it shifts well, if not under load.

It is so hard to find training wheels that can keep the bike from falling over. These wheels are great. Those little wheels you get with most bikes don't support the weight of an 8 year old, and it is too easy to fall over. I feel that the bike is safe. I would strongly recommend these to anyone who is concerned about stability and safe riding.

I liked from the start, but when we tried to instal on the bike it didn't work. And I had to send back, because those wheels are just for BMX. My son need those or some similar wheels(probably around 26'') for riding bike(mountain). I send them yestrday back to Amazon. Probably you will receive them next week. Your service was perfect and I will use again.

Best Deals for Bike USA Junior Stabilizer Wheel Kit (Black, 20-Inch) - Heavy-Duty

We ordered this kit to outfit a bike for my son with autism's birthday. We paid for 2nd day shipping and the item arrived on time, but was missing the 2 extra long u-bolts needed to put the kit together. Calls to the company have gone unreturned to date (6 days later), The product performance is OK, but the price is too high. We were also unable to get the kit to completely stabilize the bike upon assembly and adjustment, it continued to be a bit too high, causing the bike to wobble back and forth, scaring my son. It is disappointing that a company that manufactures a product that it positions for the special needs community will not even take the time to return customer service calls from their target audience. And of course, with the difficulty of installation and the modifications that we had to make to be able to deliver the item to him assembled on his birthday due to the missing parts, we are not going to disassemble and return the product. My advice is to choose something else. :(

Honest reviews on Bike USA Junior Stabilizer Wheel Kit (Black, 20-Inch) - Heavy-Duty

My daughter has severe medical issues. She's never been able to ride a bike even with "normal" training wheels. She soon gave up trying. This year for her birthday, she wanted to try again and my husband and I searched for something better to help support her. These have been wonderful! They are very durable and they have allowed her freedom that we never thought she'd have.

The Wheel Kit is solidly constructed and is fairly easy to install. Although it is somewhat expensive, it is definitely made of superior materials. I bought this for my grandson who is himself "solidly constructed," and the Stabilizer worked very well in keeping him going. I would recommend it highly.

I am by no means a professional at putting things together but was able to figure out how to put it together even though the instructions have NO words on them and never tell you to put the stickers on.

My 2 year old son seen a photo of it and was trying to get me to get it for him for months. It's going to be his for his birthday. I looks easy for him to use. The faster speed had a lock out so he won't go too fast for him and can't use it until he is older. My father is putting some spay on rubber on the tire to give it some traction because the wheels have no grip they are hard and smooth. The bucket is made out of a very thin and flexible plastic.

It is had a trailer hitch hole in the back but so far have not been able to find the compatible trailer sold by it's self,
