I waited a few days to review this purchase to see how it works in rain and dew. Basically I like this cover.

Pros:

It's lined with a silky parachute material that makes it lightweight but easy to maneuver over bike components. The outside silver is also slick.

The black wheel, seat, and handlebar outlines are quite handy and the contrasting material looks good.

It's nicely shaped to a bike's outline.

The light elastic at the bottom is some help to keep it curved to the bike. A clip is needed under the bottom bracket to keep it on securely in wind.

It's fairly sturdy without being stiff plastic.

Cons

Pouch is too small to cram it back in easily and without risking tearing the material with the zipper. I wondered why such a tiny pouch.

Why is the cover so short? The bottom quarter or more of a 26" bike are exposed to rain. Lot of important components down there. My tiny folding bike has 20" wheels, and the cover still doesn't reach to the ground in front. I would never have been able to use this on my good Blur.

The seat and handlebars and any other components touched by the cover are damp with moisture in the mornings. Dew seeps through. Most rain rolls off, but moisture still gets through. I've had this problem with a previous cover, and I just keep a plastic bag for over the seat and handlebars at night. Then I put the cover over that.

This bike cover is sufficient at first, but, after owning it for a while, I see that it has some major flaws. It doesn't cover the wheels entirely, it doesn't fit back into the zipper pouch once opened, and it tears like crazy after a while. I've considered duct-taping the inside where all the holes are, but then I ask myself: why don't I just buy a better quality bike cover?

I purchased 2 of these for the bicycles my wife and I ride. They are exactly what I needed to protect our bikes from dust and moisture when parked on our back porch. They are certainly good enough for temporary full weather exposure as well. Our bikes are different brands, mine a mountain bike and hers a ladies cruiser. The covers fit well for both bicycle shapes. There is an integrated pocket to fold the cover into it you want to carry it with you, which would be useful if you are riding to work or school, I suppose. Integrated elastic around the base of the cover ensures a good fit across the tires.

January 9, 2011: I thought it might be helpful to report I'm still using these after more than 3 years and they are still in great shape. The elastic is even still good. When I hose off the porch, I blast these (on the bicycles) to knock the dust off so they've had their share of abuse. I continue to be very pleased with them.

This works on smaller bikes. I have a comfort crusier and it is kind of difficult for the plastic cover to cover both wheels. I don't want to strech it to much because I don't want it to tear.

Ar first I really liked this cover as it fit my bike well. I ordered a second one when I bought a new bike from AMZN. It last about a year before it rotted and tore. For this price I think it should have lasted at least 2 years. I will not purchase another one, so if anyone has found a durable cover in this price range please let me know. Thanks.

Dahon Formula S18 Folding Bike, White, One Size Review

I bought a Dahon Formula S18 from Amazon about a month ago. It was shipped free 2-day because I'm a Prime member. The bike arrived with one of its wheel reflectors broken, a minor problem. I briefly chatted about that with Amazon rep, who was very generous in accommodating me.

PROS

* Excellent quality and finish.

* Fast and fairly maneuverable. Generally quiet.

* Aluminum frame is light. Folds quickly and compactly.

* OEM sticky tires provide plenty of traction on pavement, even when wet. Seem tough. No flat yet. 80 PSI good.

* Disc brakes provide excellent stopping power.

* Adjustable handlebar height allows for desired posture.

* Handlebar grips are excellent.

* Rear derailleur works well. Front derailleur only OK but I don't use it much. I keep it on low gear.

* Adjustable height seat is hard and somewhat comfortable, not cushy.

* When folded, allowed on my local public transit, any vehicle, at any time, no extra charge. Also easily fits unfolded in bus rack.

* The handlebar and seat position adjusters hold well, if you set the right tension.

CONS

* On arrival the front derailleur was out of alignment/adjustment. Easily corrected with hex key and screwdriver *if* you know what you're doing.

* When you pedal vigorously, the frame creaks. Haven't localized the flexure yet.

* Magnets on the wheel hubs are supposed to keep the bike folded, but they are not strong enough.

* The bike cannot be rolled when folded. Must be carried.

* Even with 18 speeds, would be nice to have an even lower gear for steep hills.

* The slick tires would be risky in winter snow/ice. Also, up to pressure, they slip in deep dirt.

* Not much room on bike for accessories. They tend to get in the way during folding. I did mount a headlight and bell on the front handlebars.

* When bike is locked in public, the seat could be stolen in two seconds. My cable lock cannot fit through the seat. I had to buy a seat leash.

* When bike is folded, the front gear is exposed, which could poke someone or smear grease.

* No chain guard so need rubber band on right pant cuff.

Discount Avenir Bicycle Tube Presta Valve - 26 x 1.90-2.125 Inch

This piece of trash has ruined my last 3 months of biking AND my last 40 minutes..... others were lucky to have the seam burst on their, mine (both front and back tires have it) will pump up to about 120 psi, then slowly (over an our or so) leak down to about 80 psi but no lower. So you think everything is okay, then you go out and, surprise, you have not a full-on flat but a too-squishy tire. And here is the kickerthe stems (both of them) are either designed or broken to NOT allow the air out, so I have spent about an hour trying to take the tube out from a nearly, but not quite, inflated tire...... what a piece of garbage.... and both tubes are deficient in the same way, so it appears someone actually thought they were good design features?!?!?!? Have they ever actually RIDDEN a bicycle. I hate, Hate, HATE this product.

Purchased good quality Avenir tubes in the past but was shocked at the shoddy tubes Avenir is now putting out. As others have mentioned, the Avenir tubes made in Thailand don't compare at all with the tubes made in Taiwan. If you think you're buying the Taiwan variety and get the Thailand batch, you're not going be pleased. I returned the latest Thailand tubes. Fugetabouit.

What a way to ruin a great ride. Went through 2 brand new just out of the box tubes in less than 2 miles! First had a faulty seam and 2nd had a stem that blew just after pumping. This combined with the design flaw of not have the ability to secure the stem to the rim with a threaded washer makes these the world's worst tubes, in my humble opinion.

Not sure what all the harsh reviews about an inner tube are about. I put mine in my tire, aired it up and hit the trails. Here's what I found out: It holds air. It's circular. It works.

These are standard tubes and they perform as expected. I've run on these all season without a flat. Good price. Many like to blame the tubes for their flats, but 95% of time it is the fault of a road hazard that would take out any standard tube, a bad set of wheels, or a bad rim strip (or lack of one).

I don't know if they don't know how to measure in inches in Taiwan or what, but I've had a couple of these tubes (the only thing the local bike store carries in this size, unfortunately) and they're uniformly too long. It's nearly impossible to get these in a 20" tire without the things kinking all to hell. They just don't fit. It's like they're designed for a 21" or 22" wheel.

I have a Pacific Reach folding bike which uses these offsize tubes. These are perfectly adequate basic tubes for this wheel/tire size. I have no complaints. It's a bike tube, after all!
