I used these rims to build up wheels to convert an old 27" rim road bike to a city bike/commuter. They are shiny and practically period perfect for a 60's or 70's build. They were so easy to lace and true, even with butted spokes.

Going down to 650 A from 27" or 700 C gave me plenty of room for 37mm tires and fenders, too. And even the big boxes have tires and tubes for 650 A, unlike 650 B. This is possibly the best widely available aluminum rim ever offered in this very useful size.

I have yet to actually lace this up and put a tire on, but it is significantly narrower than my original Raleigh-style rims, so I'm a little concerned about how it will work out getting a tire on and off. Some of the other reviews support this. The quality of the rim seems good and it's very solid. I had originally planned to use this on the back wheel, but I will instead make it a front wheel and use a wider rim (that I already have) on the rear. I nearly sent this back because of the width, but decided to keep it and try it out.

Weeeeee! These are shiny. I could not find any other polished rims in this size. These are well-built and should last forever. And they look great. The price is decent also.

Honest reviews on Sun CR-18 26 x 1-3/8 36-hole Polished Rim, fits EA-3/590 ISO

The rims are good but the drilling is not perfect. The holes should alternate right-left but a few are in the middle or even on the wrong side. No big deal but it will affect the durability stregth/spokes in the long run.

"Xtreme Bike & Sport" packaged and shipped very nicely. Good seller.

Best Sunlite Bicycle Tube, 700 x 18-23 (27 x 1) 48mm PRESTA Valve Deals

Sunlite Bicycle Tube, 700 x 18-23 48mm PRESTA Valve
Customer Ratings: 3.5 stars

The tube, much to my surprise, is labelled the same as the old tube which came on my bike, KENDA, made in China. This is embossed near the stem, across from the stem is the Sunlite label in white. That doesn't bother me really, it's just a bit misleading, as this tube can't be too different from other tubes sold as Kenda's.

However, the valve core is removable which was not advertised, and that removable core is leaking air. I imagine once I replace the core it will hold up just as well as any other tube, this is just a disappointing amount of difficulty for what is usually a simple job.

Bought two of these and both failed in less than a week. These are very low quality Chinese made innertubes.

I installed a new tube, inflated the tube to 70 PSI and got on my bike. It was sagging a little so I inflated it to 80. I pulled the pump off the valve and BOOM out flies the valve of the tube. I could have put an eye out with that thing. From my experience, these tubes are worthless. Buy something else.

Honest reviews on Sunlite Bicycle Tube, 700 x 18-23 (27 x 1) 48mm PRESTA Valve

Pros:

1) 48 mm stem length allows ease to hold stem with fingers

while mounting and dismounting a pump so as to avoid breaking

the tubes presta head.

2) Sturdy tube wears well on road bicycles.

3) Smooth stem (rather than threaded) remains clean.

Cons:

1) Should be more widely available, it's a good tube.

I have about 400 miles on this tube and it is performing as expected, construction seems pretty good, somewhat thinner and lighter rubber compared to the Kenda tubes I was using. I have high end road bikes and pressurize to 115 psi usually. It's very important with these tubes to keep the valve stem straight/centered and if the tube comes with a knurled nut I wouldn't use it, if you tighten it too much it will rip the valve stem base. Fill and deflate new tubes 3 times to get them situated in the tire.

Buy Kryptonite 720018210610 KryptoFlex 3/8" x 7' 1007 Double Loop

Kryptonite 720018210610 KryptoFlex 3/8' x 7' 1007 Double Loop Security Cable

Some people have issues with this cable being easily cut, which leads to their bike being stolen. I want to set the record straight about this product and proper locking methods. These cables are by no means meant to be your sole locking device, but rather, they are meant to be used in conjunction with (ideally) a U-Lock. I work in a bike shop and attend school at Michigan State, a virtual candy store for bike thieves, and as such proper locking is imperative. First off, buy yourself a good U-Lock. I would recommend going with the Kryptonite brand, as they are THE name in bike locks. I myself use what Kryptonite calls the "Fahgettaboudit" which is an 18mm-thick, vinyl-coated monster that would make New York's most proficient bike thieves shudder. THIS IS WHAT YOU USE TO LOCK YOUR BIKE TO THE STATIONARY OBJECT, not the cable. Put the U-Lock through the frame and through the stationary object. You then use a cable (I reccommend a seven or four-foot KryptoFlex, again, for the same reasons) to act as a secondary security device and, more importantly, SECURE YOUR REMOVABLE COMPONENTS (such as a quick-release wheel or seat). Before closing the U-Lock, put one end of the looped cable onto the U-Lock, then loop the cable through your wheel and seat supports. Put the other end of the looped cable onto the U-Lock, close the U-Lock, and walk away whistling, because your bike is now un-stealable. That is the proper application for these cables.

Okay, so now to actually review the cable. It's amazing. You cannot top Kryptonite's quality, and it is very useful. It is also just as resistant to cutting as any other cable you'll find. Top-notch durability

Now, there's no doubt that when people walk past your bike, with cables snaking through it like some kind of evil invasive weed, and a five-pound U-Lock hanging off the side, they'll be thinking "Man, this guy (or girl) is really obsessed with bike security." But, hey, isn't that the point?

I bought all three 525 (5mm x 2.5'), 1004 (10mm x 4') and 1007 (10mm x 7').

Amazon seems to apply reviews of any of those products to all three products. So, be careful to understand which product a review applies to. For example, the 525 is a nice leash to keep your seat from walking away (while you step into a convenience store). But, it would take small wire cutters for a thief to cut. (Not a cable to use to keep your front wheel secure to a u-lock.).

The 1004 and 1007 models, at 3/8" diameter, is thinner than Avenir's 1/2" (12mm) x 7' cable. And, more expensive than the Avenir. Obviously, a little lighter to carry. But, perhaps less of a deterrent. Even though we're only talking about 1/8" difference, 3/8" tends to be the limit of smaller (concealable/affordable) wire-rope cutters. Having a 1/2" diameter cable could slow down a thief using smaller wire-rope cutters. Or, make a thief using the correctly-sized cutters draw more attention to himself (cutters to cute 1/2" wire rope are pretty large.).

I see people rate cables low because their bike was stolen. Everyone needs to realize that a cable is not adequate security except in low-theft areas. And even then: only for a quick trip inside a convenience store (to prevent the bike from being picked up and carried away). For everything else, you should use a U-lock. (Use that to lock the rear wheel through the chainstay/seatstay tubes to a bike rack). The cable should be loopped through the front wheel, seat and rear rack. Most thieves won't go to the trouble of cutting a cable just for a seat or front wheel. (More expensive front wheels have quick release axles and you're better off putting the front tire next to the rear tire and through the U Lock if you want more security than a cable.).

Riding around, I'm amazed at how many bikes I see that are secured incorrectly. Bikes left at bus stops, locked with a cable. Or, U Locks through a front wheel. Those people increase my security because thieves will target those bikes because mine would be too much more difficult.

When you use the right tool for the right job, and use the tool correctly, it can be effective. The Kryptonite cable is very effective when used appropriately.

I also like that Kryptonite cables come with a velcro strap to keep the cable wound up.

I recently moved to Minneapolis (which is very bike-friendly) and work downtown. Biking to work is a pleasure and it is nice to have a little piece of mind about the storage of my bike.

Also, I thought the cable would be inconvenient to carry, but it is not.. It can store easily in most bags that you would bike with, or around the handlebars or other parts of the bike. It has a little Velco strip that you can use to keep it looped up.

I definitely think that a longer cable like this 7 footer is a good idea (as opposed to one of the shorter cables). Once you loop it up for storage, it doesn't take a lot of space, and it offers more flexibility when you lock your bike.

Honest reviews on Kryptonite 720018210610 KryptoFlex 3/8" x 7' 1007 Double Loop

A heads up, this might be more cable than you need. My daughter ordered two of these for us thinking the long one would be best--to get the front wheel, seat, etc. looped in to the u-lock (high bike theft area) But seven feet was much too long even for this, and the cable is too thick to pass through the bottom of the the seat. There must be a reason to need this size cable but I don't know what it is.

I got sick of wondering if my bike seat would be there when I finish work. Now, I can lock it up every day. My 7 foot Kryptonite cable easily slips through the loop on the small cable and still locks the rest of the bike.

The diagram with the cable gives a suggestion on how to attach it to the seat. I leave that cable attached on the seat, with a cable-tie (or zip-tie, one of those things they use in electrical work) to hold it a bit more securely to the pole that the seat sits atop.

You can also use a separate lock to lock the cable to the bike.

The length of the cable seems good for its purpose.

The trike is wonderful. My only complaint is that it is difficult to keep the handlebars tight and they want to swivel without moving the front wheel fork. Teflon tape solved the problem for us

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

This is a generally high quality tricycle. Unfortunately upon opening the box, we were missing a couple of parts. Also important to know is that for some reason, the company elected to put the bolts, washers and locking nuts in the position where they would eventually be used rather than in the parts bag. This made no sense to me, but I happened to find them.

We have a tall 2 year old and this tricycle is too big for him right now. I would recommend a 10" if your child isn't at least 2.5 years old.

Outside of that, the tricycle is of high quality and will be well used for us in the near future.

Best Deals for Classic Flyer by Kettler 12" Retro Trike

I bought this for my 3 yr old b/c it was on sale and I only paid 27.54. That is about how much its worth. While it looks really good both in picture and in person, the build quality is poor.

1) this thing is heavy! I have no idea why the manufacturer chose this material instead of something lighter.

2) while the assembly is fairly easy and there are few parts, the fastening mechanisms are crude. For example, where the handlebar attaches to the frame, the clamp is of a poor design and loosen easily, even after repeated tightening. OK for use by my daughter but easily turned (misaligned) by some of the older kids in the neighborhood.

3) Poor wheel design. The wheels feel loose as the axle does not ride smoothly in the axle tube. This goes the same for the fronts as well. Using bearings or even better plastic bushings would've helped

Overall, the quality of the tricycle is poor. For what I paid, I'm ok with it but for the listed $75, look elsewhere.

Honest reviews on Classic Flyer by Kettler 12" Retro Trike

I want to tell anybody reading this that this is a great tricycle. It is of a strong, almost only metal construction. My only concern concerning construction is the fork for the front wheel. The last inch or so of the fork on both sides is plastic. I can see the purpose of it (a bushing for the shaft of the front wheel), but I would think that there would be a way to make it of metal construction and put a plastic bushing inside the metal construction. In spite of that, I feel this trike is a good choice, far better, of course, than any of those plastic things that they call tricycles. This trike is well strong enough for me (160 pounds) to step on the rear deck and ride there. I almost feel comfortable (concerning durability) to sit down on the seat. It's only the front plastic forks that concern me there.

As a summary, this is it. If you are looking for a strong, sturdy trike that will last and not tip easily, you have got to get one of these, a Classic Flyer made by Kettler.

When we received the trike I really thought I had bought the radio flyer brand and my husband was all ready to return it, however, our son had such a fit because he saw the picture of the bike on the outside of the package that he relented and decided to put it together. We were not disappointed! My mother had accidentally backed over our son's previous bike which was a radio flyer so I know the quality and this is just as good. Our son zooms around on his bike and just loves it! So as long as he's happy and this bike lasts a long time, we're happy.

After much research and discussion we settled on the Stamina 7100 because it wasn't too heavy for us senior citizens to handle. We weren't sure it would be a quality product, but ordered it anyway. It arrived in less than a week. We took the parts out of the box for ease in carrying it down to our rec room at 100 pounds it had been a heavy load. My husband assembled it in two hours an arduous job, but compared to others I heard about, not extreme. After assembly it turned out to be solid, smooth riding, comfortable with the back support and wide seat, and a really positive surprise. The computer programs were easy to set and perfectly adequate. I don't know how much more a person would need in a home exercise bike. I recommend it highly. J. Rowley

Put the thing together in about 2 hours, but I took my time. A motivated person could do it in 30 minutes quite easily. It's a solid bike. Quiet, comfortable, sturdy (very important), has heartrate sensors built into the lower handlebars. I bought this for my pregnant wife, but I find myself using it quite often and I'm a bit of a gym rat.

Got the bike, it arrived in a heavily damaged box, but the bike and parts itself were not damaged.

Took about 2 hours to assemble, which was easy

had a clicking noise when i changed gears, called the company and they send a new motor.

installed that and it only shifted between 2 gears, thought it was the worst purchase ever

company informed me to contact amazon for replacement, without any hassle they send a new bike, i mailed back the crappy one.

new bike arrived in same but undamaged packaging, put it together, this time only took me 1 hour (got used to the process i guess)and it works great!

the bike makes no noise, I bike it when i watch tv, and as a soccer player thought I had some leg muscle, but with the different programs on it, you can be a starter, or a pro because it is a good workout either way.

Honest reviews on Stamina 7100 Fusion Magnetic Exercise Bike

It's March 2013 and it's still working since receiving the replacement piece, so I am upgrading my rating. If you don't have problems with the components, it works fine. I you do, come back to this original review:

I have questions about quality of the bike and customer service. Within a few months of riding 3-5 times a week, the motor that changes the tension broke. The bike was stuck on one of the highest settings, so I couldn't use it. I called the company. They talked me through different tests and finally had to agree it was broken. The phone agent tried to say "well-that's-too-bad. I don't know what else to tell you to do". I had to insist it was in warranty and that they should talk to a supervisor. They eventually agreed to send me the front lower quarter of the bike, the part with the pedal case. I think if a customer isn't persistent with this company when their exercise bike breaks, they would be out a couple hundred bucks and not have a working exercise bike. It's been working since then, but I won't be surprised if this problem happens again. Now that the bike is working, I like it.

Ordered through Amazon.com. Received the box on 4/27. Upon opening found the entire seat assembly (back and seat) missing from the box as well as one of the wiring insulator plugs. Called Stamina and placed order for warranty replacement on 4/28. So far almost a week later have not seen any parts so the bike is totally useless! Finally on 5/3 received email stating that parts were "processed" but still have no tracking number or any way to know when, how, or if they were shipped. Frankly, folks, this is no way to run a business. I would not recommend doing business with Stamina! If it wasn't such a hassle to repack I would send the whole thing back to Amazon.
