Initially, I was quite impressed with this freewheel for under $10. The color was cool, the coasting (clicking) sound it made was very cool, and obviously it was cheap; perfect on a flip flop hub on a fixed gear bike.
However, after about a month it started to get quite rusted all over it.
I recommend spending a little more (like on a Shimano) to prevent rusting, especially if you're making a single speed.I bought this because I was building a single speed to ride until I could finish my other build. I've been using the single speed everyday since September. Its held up to the beating pretty well. Great for the money, if I building another SS I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I've ridden close to 400 miles since I purchased this Cateye cycle computer and been quite pleased with it, but I didn't want to submit a review until I had a chance to measure the computer's accuracy. On my previous bike, I used a Trek cycle computer (wired). The distance measurement the two computers gave for my home to office commute were slightly off. I didn't know which one to believe. So the other day I rode along the Mt. Vernon trail, and when I passed mile marker 17, I checked the Cateye's odometer. When I passed mile marker 18, the odometer was accurate to the hundredth decimal place. I was very impressed.
Raves:
Accuracy
Size, style and installation (looks great mounted to the stem)
ClickTec ease of use (with the Trek I had to fumble with buttons along the top and bottom)
No ugly wires
Rants:
Requires 2 batteries
One time I hit a big bump and the angle of the wheel sensor changed enough so that the magnet and it began to hit each other
2/2/08 UPDATE: The tab on the bracket broke off when I popped the Strada out. I blame the winter cold stressing the plastic. I reported the breakage to Cateye, and then sent me a full parts kit (for mounting a sensor and bracket on a second bike) free of charge. Excellent customer service.
The installation is in minutes, no tools you'll need, only common sense and the instruction sheet.
The batteries are very easy to find them and cheap to.
It comes with all the features you need in a ride.
Don't waste your time looking for an other cyclocomputer, this is a very good choice.
Installation:
Very easy. The magnet attaches to a spoke on the front tire by simply twisting a tightening screw. It has not moved in over 200 miles of riding. The sensor for the magnet attaches to the front fork using included zip ties. I have vibration dampening inserts in the area where I needed to attach it and still had no problem doing so. It was very easy to position the sensor within the required distance of the passing magnet. I have never needed to adjust its position. The receiver / display unit attached to the stem easily
Programing:
I read through the instructions once, followed along doing what it told me, and after the third time it was intuitive and straight forward. Yes, it is a bit different, but not difficult by any means.
Accuracy:
If you have the correct tire size set, this device is DEAD ON down to the hundreth of a mile on 30+ mile rides. I mapped a ride this weekend that was 31.45 according to GMAP Pedometer. My cue sheet was 100% accurate for the entire ride, and my final mileage was 31.46 (a difference of 0.01 miles.) TIP: Sit on the bike with the rear tire's valve stem at the lowest point and make a mark on the ground with chalk. Roll forward in a straight line with your weight on the bike until the valve stem finishes one full rotation and is again at the lowest point, marking this spot on the pavement with chalk. Measure the distance between the two spots in milimeters and this is the number you should have entered into the device. Their included chart is good, but this method is the best.
DISPLAY:
Easy to navigate while riding (one touch scrolling) and highly visible. The entire device acts as a button when sitting in the cradle, so tapping it firmly anywhere will toggle through the display-a great design.
for some help, as the product wasn't working at first. I actually spoke with a human!! The advise was right on the money. I couldn't install it on the right upper fork, so I put it on the bottom instead. The sensor is very senative when aligning it with the magnet. I love it so much, I'm thinking about purchasing another for my husband.
Installing the devise was easy, the directions are easy to follow and understand and actual setup was a snap. The only thing I was concerned about was the size, it is quite small after looking at the larger images of the thing then taking it out of the box was a shocker.
In use, it is a great design and very easy to use, you can actually use the entire computer with one finger. When the computer is in the bracket, simply pushing down on the bottom section of the computer cycles through the menu's. I like the fact that the current speed is the bigger display no matter what sub menu your on, making it easy to read and understand. Sub menu's include: Time, Time of ride, Distance Ridden, Distance2(Dual Distance), Average Speed, Max Speed, Odo. The one feature it doesnt have which might have been nice is cadence but Im not a roadie so it is kinda minor.
Another nice aspect is the fact that it is water proof, important because last summer I got caught in pouring rain 3 or 4 times, I also landed in puddles of water and mud a couple of times as well :-) The computer fits in the cradle very securely so there is almost no chance of it falling off the bike in a spill, (tried and tested).
I highly recommend this computer if your looking for a computer that is easy to use

I am new to cycling over the last year and I needed to get a cycle computer to track speed and distance on longer training rides. After much research I settled on this device. For purposes of this review I ride a 2008 Specialized Allez Elite.Installation:

I love this computer and gave it 5 stars. Best Polar RS300X Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Orange) Deals
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $169.95
Sale Price: $87.79
Today's Bonus: 48% Off

First, let me say that if you are interested in this heart rate monitor watch, it is probably because you will be using it mainly for the heart rate monitor. However, I would have liked to see a LITTLE more flexibility to use it as both a heart rate monitor AND a watch at the same time. Perhaps I haven't quite figured out how to easily switch between the clock and the actual timers, but it isn't a big deal if you don't mind that. It's certainly not a deal breaker by any means.
I haven't dug into the features too much at this point, but I have used it for over 30 sessions of weight lifting and running, and everything works really well. Some people have said there is interference at times, but I have yet to run into anything like that. I rinse it off after every workout, and even washed it in the washer once already. So far, the strap itself has worked pretty well, though I wish it would stay up a little more in the back. I have a wide back so I can't really blame the strap, and having something resembling suspenders would be a little absurd. Additionally, when using it for weight lifting, because of the necessary location of the strap, it can get in the way on barbell benchpress, barbell bent rows, or other exercises that might come in contact with your lower chest.
The watch is light, and I like the color because it is never hard to find. Sure, it would look a little goofy to wear out and about as a general purpose watch, but this thing wasn't made for that. The buttons are all very easy to press, though sometimes the main lap button at the bottom (red button) has not read my perceived button press. Perhaps this is user error on my part, as I can't be positive because generally it is right after I finish a sprint that I press it. Your results may vary, but 98 out of 100 times, it works perfectly for me. I love the breakdowns and flexibility this thing gives, and it was nice to see it tell me that my fitness level was "elite."
Would definitely recommend for someone who wants the flexibility and precision of a great heart rate monitor watch.
I sent it back to Polar where they are fixing it. They are also charging me $25 for a battery and $8 to ship it back to me. Evidently you can not just take this watch anywhere to get a new battery (I called and talked to them about this). The expectation is that you ship the watch into them every year and a half for a new one and pay $32.45. The band they are replacing free since that is a defect and it is still under warranty but what about four months from now when it is cracked again. If you are willing to pay polar every time it needs and battery or a new band, this is the watch for you.

Well, it's been more than a month since I purchased this item and has worked well. The Polar wearlink is very confortable and can be adjusted to your chest size, plus you can change the battery yourself, not need to send it to polar factory. The instruction could be a little tricky but people learn more during practice than in theory. What I mean is, take your time to follow the booklet presing the different button and you will get everything in a very short time. For those who have experienced misreadout of your heart rates, it also happened to me. Sometimes I was doing easy cardio and my HRM would jump to 200 beats per minutes and I knew that was wrong, other times I would be doing really hard cardio and it would read zero 0. Well I read the trobleshooting portion of the instructions and it says that I must soak in water the wearlink and that I have to clean it everytime after use. I just run the wearlink under my faucet, dry with a towel a bit and that's it, it works perfect everytime, and I use it 5 times a week. I do not put it in the washing machine. Over all, it will help you understand if you are doing thisng right and not lacking and wating time during your cardio o exercise program.Best Deals for Polar RS300X Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Orange)
I bought this when I started losing weight to get a more accurate measure of my calorie burn since the machines in the gym always seem to be inflated! It has helped me ensure that my cardio puts me in the right heartrate zone and tracks my calorie burn for a week which lets me know if I am behind or ahead for weight loss that week so I can alter my program along the way! I love it!Honest reviews on Polar RS300X Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Orange)
This is my second Polar watch. I like the hrm and the features but I wanted to make sure everyone knows about the customer service and hidden fees in this model and probably several of the latest models. My first polar watch I replaced because the band became discolored and I thought I would upgrade. This one the band cracked. The black part of the band is a different plastic than the orange and cracked within the first four months of wearing it.I sent it back to Polar where they are fixing it. Ok. Good looking and nice solution to have 3 rows for information. But the signal has been disappearing (losing contact between the watch and the sensor) exactly when i need it... I expected better quality for paying more than other similar devices. Also, navigation could be simpler (perhaps I'm the problem regarding it)...Monday, June 2, 2014

The most useful review I can offer is to compare this tire to the one it replaced. The Nirve Fatass seems to have exactly the same dimensions as my old-school Fireballs. I'n referring to the most crucial dimensions to your project: height and width (frame clearance). The Nirve seems beefier in both tread and sidewall.

Amazon had these tires in stock and shipped them fast. These 'Nirve' 24" x 3.0" Fatass tires fit on the same rim as the original 24" x 1.95" mag wheels that came with the tricycle on the rear axle. You also must use 3.0" inch tire tubes with the Fatass tires. The front is a different story, the fork has to be wide enough to accomodate this fat tire size. The brake caliper system has to be big enough to surround this tire, so keep this in mind when ordering for a cruiser bike. This tire is incredible for the street and has a soft cushion ride with only 20lbs of air pressure. This tire may be the largest tire that can be installed on a 24" bike or tricycle that is pedal powered. Great for motorized bikes and tricycles that can handle a tire of this width. The overall appearance of the tires after installation is that of an early motorcycle. If you install them on yours you will love them.Best Deals for Nirve FatAss Cruiser Bicycle Tire (Black, 24-Inch)

Cheap Lezyne Valve Extender
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $14.99
Sale Price: $11.38
Today's Bonus: 24% Off

I bought these to use with my track wheels. The material at the base of the extender is so thin that it easily "unwinds" and pulls apart. Junk.
I use Lezyne road drive & floor drive pumps, and I really like the threaded chuck on those pumps; it means I never have to worry about the pump coming loose during inflation, or needing to hold the chuck in place with one hand. Much easier.
These are well-machined and come with a bag of replacement o-rings to ensure a solid seal with your presta valve.
As for Lezyne customer service, about a week ago I had a puncture, my first with the carbon wheels. Upon attempting to take the tube off, I found that the bottom of the extender had become corroded and it basically fell apart as I took it off. The other extender from the front wheel was just fine, so I used that to pump up the replacement tube and finish my ride.
I emailed a picture to Lezyne (I've uploaded the same picture here to Amazon) and they sent me a full replacement set of valve extenders in just 3 days, free of charge; excellent warranty coverage.
Given that only one extender corroded, I'm inclined to believe that I rode through some type of chemical which ate away the aluminum in that area. Who knows what the heck is on the roads these days. It is definitely not a manufacturing defect.
I'm very satisfied with the product and with the service I received. I'll continue using these on my Zipps in the future.

Currie Technologies eZip Men's Trailz Electric Bicycle Reviews
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $599.00
Sale Price: $549.99
Today's Bonus: 8% Off

Overall
Great bike for the price. Improvements would be increased quality control on batteries and chargers, upgrading handlebar, and redesigning the battery terminals.
Buy it. It works fine for what it is.
Pros
Great value for an electric assist bike. Paid for itself in commuting savings not to mention health benefits.
Comfortable ride (thicker tires help)
Surprisingly quiet motor
Having both Pedal Assist and Twist features is nice
Cons
-Quality control issues combined with 90 day warranty:
-Battery replaced in two weeks (warranty replacement plus shipping charge) $25
-Charger replaced in four months $40
-Battery terminal 1 replaced in five months $20 (part only)
-Battery terminal 2 replaced in 11 months $20 (part only)
-Email customer service never replied to requests. Phone CS are helpful though.
Design Comments
-Basic handlebar design is generally uncomfortable, grips hurt hands without gloves
-Kind of slow with only 7 speeds
-Motor on another bike in the same line is 250 watt, not 450. Could this be marketing voodoo at work? Can't confirm this, though sounds iffy.
-Battery and Bike Weight
The SLA batteries work fine on this bike. These are most cost effective batteries on the market, not most advanced. If you want more of a performance feel to your bike, pony up 400 bucks for the Lithium battery.
Steel that is used in this bike frame is the most cost effective material and also the heaviest. Two other common bike frame materials, Aluminum and Carbon Fiber are much more expensive.
Currie offers the IZip line with improved components at a premium. Via Lento Aluminum frame with SLA battery (extra $200), Via Rapido aluminum frame with Lithium battery (extra $500).
The instructions tell you to discharge your battery 2 times completely to 'condition it', but I think this information is incorrect. Please read this article. I just found it today, essential reading IMHO.
The quality of components on my bike are ok for a commuter. The tires are great for street riding, brakes work good, shifting gears is easy, the rims are aluminum alloy and look nice, brakes work great, seat adj. is easy.
I am planning on upgrading the front forks, and the rear derailleur to improve the looks and performance of my bike. I have recently changed out the pedals to sealed bearing units.
Out of the box my bike needed some tuning. the wheels needed truing (I tend to be a perfectionist :-), brakes needed adjusting, and motor chain needed adjusting after the first couple of hours.
If I had it to do all over I would buy it again.
enjoy.
Pros:
+ affordable entry-level electric bicycle
+ reduction in carbon footprint
+ minimal sweat after a ride; longer distance achieved with same amount of effort as a non-electric bike. (This is the primary reason anyone would get an ebike, right?)
+ convenient battery lock and disconnection
+ free bicycle parking when commuting to work in the downtown zone
+ pedestrians and other bicyclists see you and whisper to each other "hey, that's an electric bike!"
+ torquey 450 watt motor
+ quiet operation
+ brakes and other components are more heavy duty in comparison to a non-electric bike
+ fat road tires are comfortable and has little rolling resisitance
+ 7-speed geared to allow a rider to pedal downhill up to 26 mph (but there is hardly any motor assist past 16 mph)
+ first electric bike; will not be the last. (I will never forget my "OMG!" feeling from the first ride.)
Cons:
bike not meant for trails (despite the name). Stay on roads and sidewalks to ensure the bike doesn't vibrate parts off.
bike is rear-heavy
rear rack support bars started rubbing away plastic battery casing leaving white powdery residue. Eventually lead to loud & annoying rubbing sounds when going over road bumps and cracks.
rear rack bolts loosened themselves off over time. (should've used loctite on them at the beginning)
left side terminal died after 300 miles. Right side died after 200 miles. Comes to find out, the positive wires connecting to the terminal blew off. Required new ring connectors and a little knowledge about cutting and crimping wires.
SLA battery shows weakness after 30-40 charges.
SLA battery drastically loses power after a few miles of riding. Battery didn't have the same amount of oomph as when new. Likely that the range suffers over time as well.(Tough to make it home if your ride ends at the top of a hill.)
After the breakdown at 500 miles, I removed the kit and rode the bike without the motor/battery for 100 miles without a problem. It felt just like a regular mountain bike. This year, I upgraded the bike with a brushless hub motor kit with a LiFEPO4 battery and have been riding for 600 miles now. The bike and all of its components has been holding itself well to the newly found power without a problem.
So far I've put on about 60 miles and here are my impressions:
1. The build quality is good, very strong frame. The rear brakes and derailleur came factory adjusted and I did not need to tweak them. Nice! The front brakes are adjusted during the assembly process, but it's easy.
2. I would recommend putting loctite on the pivot screw threads for the hand brakes. One of mine vibrated off (never to be found) within the first 3 hours of riding. And they are metric, just in case you have to go through the same thing. I also put loctite on the screws that secure the hand brakes to the handle bars as are similar.
3. The battery/motor combination seems well tuned. I set my expectations low and road the bike for awhile without the battery assist. Then on the hill up to our house I used the battery, what a difference it makes, wonderful!
4. Beware of the weight of the bike and battery when you dismount. I'm a bigger guy so it doesn't bother me too much, but you have to take care when you are off the bike if you lift the front tire and the bike is at an angle. The weight of the battery makes the bike want to fall over easier. It's best to grab the seat tube to maintain control when you are moving the bike around.
5. I thought the heavier bike and battery combination would make the bike difficult to move, but the low rolling resistance of the hybrid tires make the bike seem easier to move than my knobby tire mountain bike.
6. The brakes are good and wide to give extra stopping power.
7. I highly recommend the Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DX with Side Panniers. It fastens to the rack solidly and has plenty of room.
8. If you are going to be riding this for more than 30 minutes at a time, I highly recommend getting one of the wide saddle seats with the gel inserts. Unless you are gifted with an iron butt, you'll figure this out soon enough.
Cheers and good riding!

I actually bought this bike from Walmart.com to save on shipping costs. I have had it for 2 months now. I have to say that for the price it is probably the best e-bike you can buy. My first real test for my bike was a sponsored event called 'Bike Around The Buttes'. A forty mile ride with a few hills but mostly flat. I had 2 batteries for this trip. I pedaled at a moderate pace (12-15 mph) in battery assist mode. I was very nervous because I did not think the batteries would last that long. Surprise, the first battery went twenty miles. good thing too because the batteries lasted a whole lot longer than my legs did (I am 65 and about 60 lbs over weight :-). The second battery went about 18 miles. I had forgot to charge it up the night before so it had a short trip to work and back on it. fortunately the first battery had partially come back to life and it brought me the rest of the way to the finish. I was still able to maintain about 12 mph.The instructions tell you to discharge your battery 2 times completely to 'condition it', but I think this information is incorrect.
If I had it to do all over I would buy it again.
enjoy.

I have owned my eZip Trailz for a year now. I put on about 500 miles on it. I have found that for me an electric bike is the best, environmentally-friendly mode of short range transportation for commuting and pleasure. I have found that many on the market are too expensive and don't come with a free test ride. There are even some upwards of $1,000 that come with SLA batteries.Pros:
Honest reviews on Currie Technologies eZip Men's Trailz Electric Bicycle
Its about 3 weeks or so I have been using this bike. Easy to assemble bit heavy as expected for acid base batteries. I use it for my commute to and from Train station. I always use in peddle assist mode to enjoy my exercise and not that tired. Rides about 18-20 miles / charge. I wish it would be little lighter otherwise I would give 5 stars.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Currie Technologies eZip Men's Trailz Electric Bicycle
I ordered this to help me make a 14 mile commute. The bike came well packaged and mostly assembled. Just follow the good instructions and you'll be up and riding in about an hour. (without the battery as it needs 8 hours to charge.)So far I've put on about 60 miles and here are my impressions:

Our son loves his Balance Bike. It is very well-constructed, durable, and easy to transport. We take it with us on vacations or for journeys into town. The customer service behind this product is also excellent. When my son took his balance bike into the woods, one of the wheels came off and we lost a nut and a spacer for the front tire. I contacted customer service and folks sent us the replacement parts for free. Can't beat service like that : )

My 3 1/2 year old son has been riding this bike every day. First started him on small bicycle with training wheels but he got frustrated with pedaling and braking. Within few days on the balance bike he is motoring around like a pro and now beginning to balance the bike without feet on ground. This will prepare him for a regular bicycle if I can get him off of this one. He loves it, it looks good and assembly was a breeze (took about 15 minutes). I highly recommend this to any small child ready to have fun.Best Deals for Chopper Balance Bike
great bike. strudy. love that there is a restricted amount that the front wheel can turn to prevent my son from over steering and getting hurt. bought it for our son's 3 birthday. at first was a little worried he was too short for it and wouldn't be able to go at a faster speed. but after a few times of him riding it he flys! he loves it!! he is now even lifing up both feet and balancing as he coasts and its been less than a month that we have had it. wish we would of gotten ine for our daughter when she was younger.Honest reviews on Chopper Balance Bike
THIS BIKE IS AWFUL! I bought two. One for my son and the other for my nephew. Both bikes put together by two different people continued to fall apart every time they rode them. After contacting the company they refused to replace or refund.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Chopper Balance Bike
It's nice looking and seems well-made, however it was billed for two and up and my grandson is a big two-and-a-half. It was too big for him at the lowest saddle position! He could just reach the ground on his tiptoes. That's the reason I sent it back for a refund (which was trouble-free).
