We bought this tricycle for our three-year-old and had the same problem as everyone else here has the steering on the handlebars just doesn't stay put. We've had to adjust ours numeous times too. It gets used, but it just isn't all that safe. You HAVE to use a helmet with this guy because it's VERY easy to tip over, which is a huge deal for the age group for which this is intended. It's nice that they kept the classic styling but there's one thing they shouldn't have kept how dastardly easy it is to get your foot under that back bar and scrape the top of your foot! I did that a zillion times as a kid and now, I'm doing it again with my child's bike! I HATE that! And, I have the scars to prove it.

All-in-all, if you like nostalgia, then by all means, avail yourself of this product. But quite frankly, I'd buy something else more study. I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone letting their child use this product unsupervised. It just tips over way too much. I get the willies each time I see this guy go down the driveway. Good thing I've been there each time this thing has tipped over.

My 20 mo old son loved riding this bike in [a local toy store], which is why I chose it. I think he liked it because the seat was high and he could push himself with his feet. He's not yet able to use the pedals. I have a smaller plastic trike, which he never uses because it's too low to the ground and too hard to push himself. My only complaint is that the handlebars have a locking slide button and they're hard to install. Maybe I did something wrong but our handlebars move around and I think that I may have stripped the screw trying to keep them tight. I think that the bike would have been better without the locking mechanism anyway(which is used to lock the front wheel when you use the push bar to push your child.) What kid actually lets you push them anyway? Mine won't let me touch that pushbar. He'd rather keep pushing around with his feet.

This is a fantastic classic trike. It's very sturdy, good-looking, and a lot of fun for a toddler.

The push bar attaches very firmly and is an adjustable length, which means that it works well for parents of all heights. This model doesn't have the "steer using the push bar" feature of other models, but it's simple to take control of the steering by simply pushing down slightly on the bar to take the front wheel of the trike off the ground (taking care that your toddler doesn't slide backwards, of course).

My two-year-old is tall (36") and just reaches the pedals; I wouldn't recommend this particular model for kids under the 36-inch mark if learning to pedal is a goal. My son loves to put his feet on the pedals while an adult pushes the trike using the push bar. I think that's a great combination for kids who are learning to pedal; it lets them get a feel for the motion of pedaling while they're still developing the strength and coordination to be able to take over for themselves.

This tricycle doesn't have all the features of other models (e.g., seatbelts, freewheeling pedals), but I wasn't looking for that in a trike. I was looking for a trike that would start teaching my son a little more independence (e.g., pedaling and steering) as well as teaching him to take some responsibility for his own safety (e.g., wearing a bike helmet, being careful about how he gets on and off). And this trike is small enough that even if he does take a spill, I think it's unlikely that he'd be seriously hurt.

Overall, this is a great, sturdy, old-fashioned tricycle at a great price.

Honest reviews on Radio Flyer Classic Red Tricycle with Push Handle

I bought this particular trike for my 22 month old and wanted to stick with the "classic americana". What a mistake! If I still had the receipt, I would return it. This trike tips very, very easily. It is difficult for a younger child to learn to steer, therefore, the adult push bar SHOULD come in handy. However, on this particular model, the adult push bar is completely useless. You cannot assist with steering, if you do, you will tip your child. The adult push bar is only useful for a straight line ride. I wish I had bought a more durable, sturdy trike!

I bought this trike for my son who is just under 2 years old. I attached the extension bar at first so he could get the hang of pedaling. He is avg height and can reach the pedals, but still cannot make it go. He has fun just making it go with his feet on the floor. He soon will be old enough to pedal by himself. This is an excellent beginners tricycle, and the seat extends for older kids. This is the trike to buy.

I was restoring my old 12 speed, and found these liners at a great price. The product is a very good quality thick rubber, which is good for the old rims I put them in.They also fit perfectly in the 26x1 3/8" rims. GREAT product.

I bought these for an older English style 3 speed 1/38 x 26 EA3 rim. As part of getting the tires to seat properly I had to leave the tires overinflated for several hours. Everything works fine.

Best Deals for Sunlite Bicycle Rim Strip, 26 x 1-3/8

This is an OEM rubber rim strip. Nothing fancy, and not meant to stop flats, just meant to go into the groove of the metal rim so that the spoke nipples won't poke through to your tube. If your spokes are too sharp or protruding too far, this isn't going to stop the end of the spoke from possibly puncturing your tireyou will probably have to sand down the spoke end a tiny bit. Overall, I am satisfied with the rimstrip. It is what usually is found on a bicycle. If you want a better rim strip, but at an increased cost, by some Velo rim strip tape. In fact, I have put Velo rims trip tape on top of these types of plain rubber rim strips with no problems. If you are replacing a tire and your rim strip is hard and crunchy, this is a good cheap replacement, though.

Honest reviews on Sunlite Bicycle Rim Strip, 26 x 1-3/8

These are too narrow-so narrow it is very difficult to get all spoke nipples covered. The strips I received were not 'Sunlite' or 'Pyramid' brand as listed, the strips are 'Kenda' . I hate to spend a lot on something like a rim strip but it would be worth shelling out a little more vs. fighting with these and/or ruining a tube because of them.

This tool is small, compact, lightweight, and includes many useful tools. I've found myself keeping it around during my recent bike build because it's easier to use this than sifting through all my loose allen wrenches. Also the chain tool worked great.

I bought several of these. One is for a friend who trains annual for races. She loves its compactness and all the tools on it. My husband keeps his in his car as a compact tool kit. My cousins and I keep ours with our bikes for quick fixes. I seem to use mine mostly for seat and handle bar adjustments for my kids' bikes, as they seem to grow each time they get back in the saddle. The carrying case is great, too, and it is really well made.

This was given to me as a gift, and it is amazing! I had my chain snap on my ride home the other night and was so very glad I had this (and it has a chain tool) to fix the bike on the sidewalk in the dark (used my bike light as a flashlight, and be able to get home! it is not the best chain tool, but is amazing in a pinch, a real commute saver!

Honest reviews on Topeak The Mini Plus 18-Function Bicycle Tool

To be honest, I'm not sure how to use most of these tools, but I was surprised that there wasn't a nut wrench included. My fault for not reading more carefully. But it's very compact and fits in the seat bag. Luckily, I have a couple of nut wrenches that I was able to fit in the bag as well.

To no avail, I searched around bike shops and big box retailers for a high quality multitool. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this tool when I received it. It is functional and includes a good range of tools, such as a chain tool. The width of the tool makes it a little difficult to reach hard to find bolts, but it is still worth getting.

I am 6'3 and 280 after talking to a diamondback tech at their customer service center he felt the bike would be big enough. dude you got to be kidding the spec sheet on diamondback web site states the top bar is 24.5 inches from seat post to stem.

well the bike arrived delivered on time and it looked like a kids bicycle carton, don't forget the big words 'made in china' displayed proudly on each side.

I pop top well lift the top flaps carton already opened, and looked in and quickly got my tape measured the top tube it measured only 22 inches from seat post to stem.

needless to say closed the box and returned to amazon no hassles excellent service, and this is no reflection on amazon its diamondback. I would not recommend for anyone over what 5 feet tall hell don't have a clue but be careful take a tape measure out and imagine a crossbar 22 inches in length !

Discount Tacx Trainer Tire

Tacx Trainer Tire, 700c/23-mm
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

I used to use my old worn out tires on the I-Magic and wear them into oblivion to get everything but the oink out of them. However, they would slip and get bald spots and ride unevenly pretty fast and it made riding on the trainer less than stellar.

I figured I would give the Tacx tire a chance, and it is much much better than the old tire discards. It is really grippy and yet durable, doesn't run hot, gives excellent traction and is more quiet. It rides with a lower frequency hum and gives a more 'road-like' feel because it's not slipping at all.

I can't recommend the I-Magic (Fortius or the old one) from Tacx strongly enough, and this tire is a good one for those VR trainers.

UPDATE 8/10/11

I've done many many miles on the trainer, and the tire just failed tonight. I think this is a lot of miles for the one tire, and shows it is as good as I espected or better. The current Amazon price of just over $30 is much better than the price I paid from Niagara cycle works when I got the first one. Definitely a great tire for indoor use on the trainer!

I got Tacx trainer tire as a cheaper alternative to the Continental trainer tire I used for about 2 winter seasons on my Computrainer. When I first put it on I thought it was super sticky and figured it would grip like crazy. Started my ride and at lower speeds found it to be pretty quiet. After the trainer warmed up and I calibrated it, the grip seemed to go down and the noise level went up. I will usually have to really crank down on the wheel tension (regardless of tire pressure) to get a really good grip but doing that just makes the thing scream when I really crank up the speed and it just doesn't feel like the tire responds as well to resistance changes during a ride like the Continental does. I think once this one wears out I will be spending the extra few dollars and going back to the Conti.

Best Deals for Tacx Trainer Tire

I have been totally satisfied with this tire on my trainer. It is definitely quieter than my old used road tires and seems to last much longer. It does leave lots of residue on the roller, but I just clean regularly.

Honest reviews on Tacx Trainer Tire

I bought this tire to match with my Tacx trainer. I've used Conti trainer in the past without issue. This tire squealed from the start. I adjusted the tension multiple times a ride and used 8bar as advised. At two weeks (14 trainer rides ) the squeal is constant and the tire is hot and sticky to the touch. I'm pretty sure I just got a bad compound, but I usually get a full off season on my Continentals. Anything is better than this tire.

Great tire. Holds a nice even pressure throughout the tire for consistent spinning and no wobble. No slip design. Would recommend.

These wheels look good, but are actually very poor:

* When I spun the wheel before putting on the bike, I could feel the bearings grind. Then, when I tried to re-adjust the cones, I found there was no channel in the axle and no lock-washer for proper fine tuning. The cones were stuck and I literally had to re-thread the axle in order to get the bolts and cones off.

* These rims are not sleeved, pinned, or triple walled (unlike the quality rims they're imitating).

* Spoke/nipple holes are just punched/ripped through, not precision ground, leaving ugly shards of metal inside (internal and just cosmetic, but really cheap, ugly and unnecessary).

* Hubs are only painted black, not anodized.

* Spokes are painted black (chips off very easily), not dyed.

* Axles are slightly larger than standard...enough that I had to grind them down to fit in my drop-outs.

CST tires and tubes are the only quality parts on this wheelset.

You want a low priced set of quality deep Vs?...get Origin 8. Yeah, you don't get tires, tubes or cogs but they're way worth the extra effort.

Anyone who gave these a high rating is either someone who just received them and wrote a review before inspecting/using them (a pre-teen mesmerized by the colors?) or someone with low to no standards.

I am highly impressed with these wheels for the value. I am currently converting my 21 speed roadie to a fixie, i wasn't sure if these would fit my bike since it is not a Retrospec but sure enough they fit perfect and look sick. i love the flip flop hub, freewheel when you just want to cruise around and have some fun, or switch it over to fixed for more speed and climbing power. They come with high quality CST tubes and tires, i have only had these wheels for a couple days but have already logged over 100 miles on them with no issues so far on some pretty trashy urban roads. I would definitely recommend these wheels to anybody with a fixie or looking to convert to a fixie.

I purchased the orange wheelset. Overall the product is as described, but some details are lacking.

Packaging: Came in a large box, with a single piece of cardboard separating the two wheels. The outside bolts on each wheel had a flat plastic cover to prevent punching through the box, but the insides did not. Not surprisingly, the bolts punched through the single cardboard sheet and jammed into the spokes. Light scratches on the black paint of the spokes is probably due to this.

Tires and Tubes: No complaints here, seem good quality and properly installed on the rim. Apparently a well known brand but I'm not an expert on them.

Color: Orange paint on rim is mostly glossy and smooth, but there are numerous streaks with the gloss rubbed off, possibly due to packaging, or construction. I checked to see if it was just marks by cleaning the wheels but its definitely some scratched off clear coat. Black paint on spokes is fine, other than scratches from packaging. Based on this I don't think the paint is very durable.

Construction: This is probably the worst aspect of the wheel. On both wheels the Retrospec sticker is used to cover up a large, very noticeable seam running radially on the rim, on both sides. I realize this is how most rims are made, but better quality rims are brazed and sanded smooth, or put together with an insert and much higher tolerances. The seam is a gap in the paint and metal that can be seen from around 4 feet away. If you plan on installing brakes the seam causes a noisy bump each time the pads go over it.

Both wheels spin relatively true, but could use a truing. The hubs spin quietly and the flip flop up was secure and worked well.

Honest reviews on Retrospec Bicycles Super Deep-V Wheels with CST Tires (700C x 23)

These wheels are pretty nice, especially when you consider the price.

The package they came in was completely destroyed, but (miraculously) the wheels were fine! Perfectly true right out of the box, but the cones were a but too tight... Nothing that can't be fixed with 30 seconds of wrenching.

The reason that I rate these 4 stars is because the fixed-gear cog is VERY difficult to remove. I wanted to swap out the 16t cog for a 18t because I live in a very hilly city. The lockring comes off no problem, but the cog seems to be epoxy-Ed on. Not loktite, EPOXY! After trying and failing with my chainwhip (even using a cheater-bar), I tried using the reverse Rotafix method... It took two people, even doing that!

Other than that, I love these wheels! Paint is great (the black spokes make te color really POP), bearings are smooth, and (mine, at least) came true, despite the package being shredded. I'd buy them again, and would recommend them to a friend.

I was an idiot and didnt realize it came with the crank bolts in the box. I have a Cannondale 1FG wih the EBB and this fit perfect. It still creaks and groans like they all do, the double bearing is great for when your really working the cranks up hill or over jumps.
