This bike is actually very easy to put together if you have the right tools. The only things that I had slight problems with were the seat, it isn't very comfortable. However, that can easily be replaced with a cushioned seat. And also that I am 5'8 and a 24 inch wheel is probably making the bike too short for me. BUT that was my mistake because I could have bought the 26 inch. So really just the seat. Other than that, the bike is nice and is a fair price for the product.

This bicycle will require you to perform several maintenance repairs yourself, or take it to a bike shop. The wheels were obscenely out of alignment upon arrival. Plus the rear derailereur pulley was bent into the bike wheel. Huffy may put out good bicycles, but this is not one of them.

The bike arrive quickly and nicely packaged. Assembling was a piece a cake. I'm actually impressed with what we got for the money. The best thing of all was that my daughter loved it.

The only negative I have is that the left grip shifter (for the front derailleur) broke while I was testing it out. Ended up just replacing them with $30 sram grip shifters. Now the thing shifts nicely.

I would have given 5 stars but putting a bike together is a pain. Otherwise, great bike for a 10 year old girl.

Our 5 year old loves this. Friends have the other model. This one has the more adjustable handle height, but we're just using the lowest setting for now. The platform is a bit larger, more detailed and seems able to hold a bit more weight. All in all, worth the additional cost.

I've owned this bike rack for approximately a month now and I am very happy with my purchase. Thule is a great product and I'm very happy that I purchased this bike rack. It's very easy to install and fits practically all makes and models of cars. The manual did not recommend the bike rack for my boyfriend's 2001 Ford Taurus, but it fit fine and we were comfortable with traveling with the bike rack on his car. We only checked to see if the car would fit my car before we purchased the bike rack, but everything worked out fine. I really like the material, sturdyness, and overall quality of this product.

I've read that someone or a few people weren't able to fit three bikes on this rack. We have 2 adult bikes and 1 children's bicycle and all three of the bikes fit fine. We've also traveled with 3 adult bikes and the fit was good as well. Just make sure you read the instructions and tips that come with the bike rack and you should have no problems.

Set up was easy enough. Used the correct settings and mounted two bikes: both were kids bikes, both were heavy. But around 200 miles into the trip (bad traffic), we very luckily noticed that the bikes seemed way off center.

We pulled over. One of the arms had come undone from the elbow of the rack. The elbow that holds in the arm (which holds the bikes) is the most important part of the rack. The elbow had actually split and when it started to split there was enough give so that the pin mechanism that holds the arm in place popped out. When you purchase this rack, look at the pin mechanism. You will notice it is made of very flimsy material and the squeeze construction seems shoddy. It's the kind of pin mechanism that weight traning equipment uses, but weight training equipment manufacturers always use reinforced heavy steel pins. Why in the world these pins are so flimsy I will never understand. I am sure most of these units are fine and I am sure we got a bad set (only one arm had the problem), but I swear this issue could always be avoided if they just used a longer steel pin that you just push through manually.

I don't get it. We were on a family vacation and had to abandon two bicycles. An email to Thule Saturday remains unanswered on Tuesday night. Nothing else to say. I am sure people love this rack because it is easy to install and probably works 99% of the time, but you have to consider, the times it doesn't work would be dangerous and expensive. This is one of the only reviews I have written on Amazon. While I am sure this is a fine rack for shorter trips or for cars with a normal trunk, it just didn't work for us on our SUV. We'll get a hitch setup in the future.

The Thule model is well made, has sturdy straps with good buckles and an easy way of tying down to the trunk sides and bottom. I use it for a 27 lb bike and a 37 lb three wheel recumbent. The rubber saddles and straps are good. For my heavy recumbent bike I had to place hose clamps on the bars to prevent the saddles from moving. The bars holding the bikes can be rotated down for storage but with a little difficulty in pressing the two buttons to release the arms.

I bought the three bike unit because it has a higher listed weight capacity but I suspect it is the same product as the two bike unit but with longer bars.

The saddles and straps save time. I no longer need to spend much time using bungee cords. It is important to get the trunk side and bottom straps snug so they don't loosen on the road.

I called Thule and got an answer to my question about the height of the assembly.

This is a good product and I am glad I bought it.

Honest reviews on Thule 911XT Passage 3 Bike Trunk Mount Carrier

Bought this carrier after searching and reading all the reviews I could find on models that actually had my vehicle in the fitment guide then a visit to the store to look at one. This fits our '06 Chevrolet HHR just fine and made a 3 hr trek twice on the highway at highway speeds with some crazy dips where construction met finished road with 2 'mountain bikes' loaded. No problems. One bike was my wife's high-end Roadmaster ;) 'mixte' frame which we did not need the special bar for. I see no reason to give this a bad review at this point. Read the instructions and follow the tips, make sure the straps are very tight and check them after you go a few miles because nylon straps stretch. I had my wife lift up on the loaded bars enough to take the weight off while I re-tightened the straps. Once was all it needed.

Oh, be careful not to let anything hang directly behind your exhaust pipe....just a tip.

Charlie

It was a little unclear if this would fit on my Grand Cherokee but I took the leap of faith anyway I'm glad I did. Very easy to install and I easily carried three bikes (two adult, one child) on the back without any problems. The straps make it easy for any style of bike to fit. Very pleased and would recommend to anyone.

Discount Avenir Skini Mini Pump

Avenir Skini Mini Pump

I see no reason, what-so-ever, to purchase this pump. I bought it so that I wouldn't have to carry my frame pump on trips and thus be able to carry a second water bottle since the Aviner can easily fit in a Jersey pocket. I tried to pump up my tire (a presta 115 psi 20c) and I pumped and pumped and pumped and pumped and pumped, etc. and got nowhere near the needed pressure to even ride on the wheels a short distance without any damage to the rims. Then, upon trying to remove the pump from the valve stem, the screw down portion of the stem broke off with the stinkin' pump (Yes, I did "unlock" the pump from the stem). One of my fellow riders sarcastically asked if I got the pump from the "Dollar Store". It was a good thing he had his Zephal pump with him to get my tire inflated. I've been riding high pressure (presta valve, sew-ups [tubulars] & clinchers) since the early 1970's and never had such a useless, destructive, trashy pump. I've had Silca's (with and without Camy heads), Zefal's, and now a Topeak. All fine pumps! But, this Avenir is garbage as far as I'm concerned. I wish I tried it out sooner because I would certainly have taken it back for a refund. Now, all it is, is a reminder to try out things like this in the store, or immediately after purchase so they can be returned. I hate it!! It's a waste of money!!! I'll never ride without my Topeak frame pump again. That's just my opinion. You can always buy one and formulate your own conclusions.

Simply put this item is junk, yes it's light and yes its small but it doesn't work. I made sure the Schrader valve ring was on but it can't lock on to the tire so all you get is an expensive air release. The other nuisance is the mount which is only available as a braze-on this just gets in the way of pedaling and shifting the front derailleur.

The reversible pump setting allows you to adapt to your given valve but the schrader valve side is terribly designed (thought the other side might work). You can pump and pump and pump but nothing is going in because the valve isn't being activated so you disassemble the pump head, attach it firmly to the valve then reassemble the pump around the stem. Great, now the pump activates the valve and you can put air in but it is leaking out at nearly the same rate so your tire never gets enough pressure to ride on. In the end, you will just be frustrated, tired, and confused as to why someone would manufacture and sell a pump so poorly designed. That's when you, in your baffled state, decide to look online to find out if you are the only one having thes problems with this substandard junk. Hence the review. Bottom line: don't buy this pump

Honest reviews on Avenir Skini Mini Pump

Even after reading the negative reviews, i decided to give it a try.

I needed a tiny pump for a folding bike, to be stored in a Serfas saddle bag, where my other mini pump (19 cm) would not fit.

That scenario means thatb i just need to reach low pressure (40 psi) on a low volume tire. That is way less demanding than high pressure or high volume tires.

Having said that, i tried the pump a couple of times, at home and after some cumbersome fitting and a lot of pumping, i reached an acceptable pressure.

However i would never recommend it for high pressure or high volume tires. There are far better mini pumps here on Amazon
