I see no reason, what-so-ever, to purchase this pump. I bought it so that I wouldn't have to carry my frame pump on trips and thus be able to carry a second water bottle since the Aviner can easily fit in a Jersey pocket. I tried to pump up my tire (a presta 115 psi 20c) and I pumped and pumped and pumped and pumped and pumped, etc. and got nowhere near the needed pressure to even ride on the wheels a short distance without any damage to the rims. Then, upon trying to remove the pump from the valve stem, the screw down portion of the stem broke off with the stinkin' pump (Yes, I did "unlock" the pump from the stem). One of my fellow riders sarcastically asked if I got the pump from the "Dollar Store". It was a good thing he had his Zephal pump with him to get my tire inflated. I've been riding high pressure (presta valve, sew-ups [tubulars] & clinchers) since the early 1970's and never had such a useless, destructive, trashy pump. I've had Silca's (with and without Camy heads), Zefal's, and now a Topeak. All fine pumps! But, this Avenir is garbage as far as I'm concerned. I wish I tried it out sooner because I would certainly have taken it back for a refund. Now, all it is, is a reminder to try out things like this in the store, or immediately after purchase so they can be returned. I hate it!! It's a waste of money!!! I'll never ride without my Topeak frame pump again. That's just my opinion. You can always buy one and formulate your own conclusions.

Simply put this item is junk, yes it's light and yes its small but it doesn't work. I made sure the Schrader valve ring was on but it can't lock on to the tire so all you get is an expensive air release. The other nuisance is the mount which is only available as a braze-on this just gets in the way of pedaling and shifting the front derailleur.

The reversible pump setting allows you to adapt to your given valve but the schrader valve side is terribly designed (thought the other side might work). You can pump and pump and pump but nothing is going in because the valve isn't being activated so you disassemble the pump head, attach it firmly to the valve then reassemble the pump around the stem. Great, now the pump activates the valve and you can put air in but it is leaking out at nearly the same rate so your tire never gets enough pressure to ride on. In the end, you will just be frustrated, tired, and confused as to why someone would manufacture and sell a pump so poorly designed. That's when you, in your baffled state, decide to look online to find out if you are the only one having thes problems with this substandard junk. Hence the review. Bottom line: don't buy this pump

Honest reviews on Avenir Skini Mini Pump

Even after reading the negative reviews, i decided to give it a try.

I needed a tiny pump for a folding bike, to be stored in a Serfas saddle bag, where my other mini pump (19 cm) would not fit.

That scenario means thatb i just need to reach low pressure (40 psi) on a low volume tire. That is way less demanding than high pressure or high volume tires.

Having said that, i tried the pump a couple of times, at home and after some cumbersome fitting and a lot of pumping, i reached an acceptable pressure.

However i would never recommend it for high pressure or high volume tires. There are far better mini pumps here on Amazon
