We boght this tricycle two weeks ago for our 18 month old son. He is definitely too little to ride it by himself and his feet can barely reach the pedals but he loves it anyway. We go for a walk every day and he enjoys being pushed around on it. He has alrady started to figure out how to steer the tricycle. I think the Radio Flyer Classic Red is a wonderful classic toy with a great educational value.

Materials are sturdy so the tricycle should last us for a long time. Assembly is very easy and only takes about 5 minutes.

The only complaint I would have is the fact that rubber tires smell horrific. We could not keep the trike in the house the first few days as the smell was disgusting and unbearable. But that sure doesn't stop it from being a great toy. THUMBS UP. Great buy!

We have a Kettler trike which was just too difficult for our very tall three year old to ride on. The Radio Flyer is a great choice if you have a toddler with long legs. The upright nature of the bike seems to be helping our toddler learn to peddle. I'd recommend the Radio Flyer.

IWe bought this tricycle for our son's second birthday because we wanted a durable, old school trike (which this is)and we also needed something with a parent push handle since we knew our son was still pretty young to peddle himself. There was no problem with him reaching the peddles with the seat on the lowest setting (and he is small for his age) and he quickly got the hang of getting on and off by himself (and is so proud of it too).

My disappointment with this trike comes with the knut/clamp that holds the handle bars in place and with the parent push handle. The clamp can not be tightened enough to keep the handle bars from slipping off-center, which messes up the steering completely. (I think I remember reading this in another review and I thought, "well bare down, man, and tighten that sucker!"but it CAN NOT be tightened sufficiently.

Also, the parent push handle pushes just fine, but doesn't steer the trike, and chances are if your kid can't peddle, they probably don't grasp steering either. So you can certainly push the trike straight if your kid doesn't touch the handle bars and veer you off course, or you can constantly be bending down to steer it yourself, in which case you will also end up having to realign those handle bars every so often too.

All-in-all this trike is cool and our son loves it, but we don't take it out as much as we would like because the features that are intended to make it "parent friendly" are just aggrivating. But once our son can ride it on his own it will be fine... except for having to carry a wrench around to fix those handle bars.

Bought this for my toddler so he can learn to ride while we walk. We love the look and nostalgia of the radio flyer. Since this had a handle bar so we could help control, we immediately got it. He doesn't know how to ride it on his own...he'll grow into that. BUT the push bar does nothing unless he rides the trike himself. It doesn't help steer so we are constantly veering into the grass or off the sidewalk. We have to lift back to get turn corners or to straighten out. There is nowhere for his feet when we push and he doesn't pedal. Hopefully he will grow into it but this makes the push handle pointless...not worth the extra $.

I really like this tricycle. It reminds me of when I was a kid way too long ago. Radio Flyer has been around a long time. I really like that. It has all the Radio Flyer quality that I was used to when I was a kid. Very sturdy and well built. Good instructions on how to assemble. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble only because I could not find my hammer. This is what took the most time. If I had all the tools available, it should have only taken 10 or 15 minutes at the most.

This tricycle has a rod in the back which allows you to keep your child going the right direction. This rod is a great addition for a beginner tricycle. It can be removed when no longer needed. If you push the rod slowly and help your child to steer with his or her arms and hands then your child will quickly learn how to steer this great toy. Start out slow and don't do the steering yourself. Pull and push on your child's arms and hands to steer the tricycle. This way they more quickly learn what is required to steer.

The only thing I did not like was that it was made in China. However, I did not ding the product for being made in China. The price was great for the quality of this product. I sure would like to see "Made in the USA" more. Kind of saddens you when the great toys of yesterday are no longer made in the good ole USA. Still rated it 5 stars because it does look to be very sturdy and should be around in the family a long time. I still use a 30 years old Radio Flyer wagon to pull my 2 year old in. I used it years ago with my second child who is now 30 years old. Sure do like the name brand.

NOTE: I was careful to read the reviews before I bought this tricycle for my 2 year old. Taking a few minutes reading reviews can save you a whole lot of time down the road. This is something I am doing more and more as I order more products over the internet versus buying locally. Most local retailers sell junk so you will have to buy again soon. This helps them maximize their profits. But does you little good. This is why I am more and more an internet shopper for what my family needs and wants. I live in a large metropolitan area with many stores close by and I am convinced that most of what the local stores are selling is junk so they can make another sale soon of the same type of product.

I have been wanting to try these tires for over a year now, and finally found them for a decent price(about $30 apiece).They look great and ride great on rough city streets, packed dirt and gravel. So far, they seem to be as tough as advertised, but it is still too early for me to fully affirm their flat resistance. They are not racing tires but they are about as fast as touring tires I've had but with better grip, and without the drag of cx or mtb tires. Cons: The "anti-pinch flat" bead is a hassle to seat properly and bulged off when I first fully inflated them(some more work and care is required, but they are fine once properly on). Also, there was an incident were the black comp seemed to be melting into the white, but after an hour of riding I couldn't find any evidence of it. Overall, these are vary functional, cool looking tire that are well worth the price I paid.

I was very impressed with the bike when it came. When I built the bike it seemed very solid. I did not have a chance to road test it. Had to return the product due to a defective rear brake caliper bolt that was made too long causing it to eat into the disc. Other than that one issue, pretty solid construction.

I have just received the replacement for this bike. Of course the first thing I looked at was the rear brake caliper. The bolt this time is not as bad as previously, but it is still going to cause me to return the bike. The rear bolt on the caliper is slightly less than 1 mm away from the disc. This means any sort of wear or tear is going to cause the bolt to dig into the disc once again. The same bolt on the front caliper is approximately 3 mm away from the disc, which is normal. This is probably just a bad defect where the brake caliper does not fit the frame of this bike well at all. Amazon on the other hand has been very willing and prompt on replacement/return.

I've now got two weeks under the wheels, and about 50 miles. My commute to work is all of three miles and I decided to stop being lazy and get peddling. This bike is superb. The dual suspension soaks up just about everything (I weigh 210#), the disc brakes are better than average, and the gearing is much better than I thought. I was fully prepped to take it to a bike shop to get the gears (all 24 of them) properly aligned but mine was fine right out of the box. It sometimes has trouble deciding between 2nd and 3rd, but since I spend most of my ride in 4/5/6/7th gears (on the 2nd front gear setting), it's a non-issue.

Yes, you will need to get a better seat, or a gel-pak for this one, but that's standard fare. As the others have said, this is a very good bike and a superb value! Go for it the summer's almost here!

The bike was delivered mostly pre-assembled, only the front wheel, seat, pedals, and handlebar needed to be attached.

The instructions were somewhat complicated, as the manual was not just for this model bike, but for EVERY model Mongoose bike. "If your bike has disc brakes, do this, if your bike has pad brakes, do this" and you really have to flip around in the manual quite a bit to figure out what you do and don't have! Also, the illustrations in the manual don't match the bike at all. For the most part though, assembly is self-explanatory.

As for the bike itself, it's very nice to ride. The front and back shocks really make a lot of difference in comfort, although I did replace the seat with a gel-padded one, the included seat wasn't comfy at all! The 24-speed vs a 21-speed is easier to pedal/ride. It shifts smoothly without any adjustments, only the disc brakes need to be tweaked before the first ride. I've gotten several compliments regarding the bike's styling, it really is an attractive ride!

I can't say how this is for an actual mountain bike, I've only taken it on city streets and will more than likely never actually take it down some rugged trail, but it really is a joy to ride. My previous bike was a Trek hybrid. My Trek is much lighter than this one, but the tires are 1/2 as wide and, 16 years ago, it was $550 new, it's supposed to be a higher-performance bike.

I have looked at bikes in some of the nearby sporting stores and discount stores since buying this, and I have to say I'm very pleased with the price I paid on Amazon for the features this bike has. I've seen several other bikes with similar features as this Mongoose and they were several hundred $ more! I would buy this again and recommend it to others!

I bought this bike 4 month ago and I can say so far so good.

The assembly was easy enough, you need to mount the front tire, the steering and the pedals. You do not need instructions for this, but if you reed them, they can really make you wonder what you need to do and how to do it. The only instruction which was accurate and useful was the disk brakes adjustment. You need to do this before taking the bike out.

The bike ride is quite soft and comfy. This is a plus and a minus. If you ride in gravel and novice trails, you will enjoy the ride, you can do small jumps too, but if you do to medium to complex trails with ups and downs, side ride, etc. the shockers are too soft and you start loosing control.

Brakes are quite good, the seat is not bad, you can change it if you don't like it, nice 24 gears, good rims and tires, superb frame for the price.

The parts and quality you get for this price is excellent, I spent some time looking at bikes before buying this one and can say you cannot get such parts for less.

It is good bike to start with, can do park ride, small jumps and basic trails and for just a bit over $300 beats all other competitors priced at $450+.

A pair of (37-590) Kenda K40 "gumwalls" was used to refresh an older Free Spirit bike. Tires mounted reasonably well considering the condition of 30-year-old rims, but make sure the bead is in fact seated evenly before inflating to recommended pressure. A small rib should be visible just above the rim edge, and will help you judge if tire is in place.

My friend is a very happy camper now, and so am I for being able to help out.

Overall, these tires are good enough for the price, mount, look and roll very nicely. The 26 x 1-3/8" was very hard to find locally, and thank you Amazon for keeping the stock.

* Note: One-star reviews for these elsewhere on Amazon are not all deserved. These are *NOT* MTB-sized 26" tires despite a "26" appearing in the size read specs carefully.

** Tires came in two large flat packages, but could have easily fit in one. This means the wire beads were not bent even a slightest bit (vs. if two were packed in the same box). Amazon could have easily saved on shipping, but didn't this time, which is a nice touch!

I ride a bike that was sort of retro when I bought it in 1973 at the height of the ten-speed craze. It is a hub 3 speed. Tires for it are not common any more. I bought this tire because it has a higher max rated pressure, like 80 pounds, so I could put 65 pounds in them like the original Raleigh tires had when I got the bike.

I began riding it again regularly, like 6 hours a week, when it is above 40 degrees, about 4 years ago, so the tires do get quite a lot of use. I had the exact tire as this one just previously. It looked just slightly worn when it gave out after 7 months. The same thing happened to me with a different, lower pressure, Kenda tire after a year and a half of use. What happens is the cord in the tire rips and the tube starts to squeeze out. I didn't over-inflate the tires.

Nothing happened immediately before the event. I hopped on the bike to get back home from where I was. Everything seemed normal for about five minutes. Then a noise like something was stuck on the tire started, and got noisier fast. I got off to take a look. The hole in the tire expanded, and the surrounding area bulged, as I watched. I recognized this as what happened to the previous tire. I let out most of the air in the tube so it wouldn't blow up and walked about two hours home.

The tire was hardly worn, so it wore well. 7 months of use is alright with me for the price. But I never had a problem like this with tires before. Before this, they wore out and I switched tires.

This June, the same type of tire failure occurred on the front tire, where the other two were on the back, so this is at around 2 1/2 years of use. The tread is not very worn. The front still had the low pressure K-40 (versus this high pressure K40-HP). Since all the weight is on the back, I was able to lower the front pressure to 30 pounds, enough to keep the tire from looking flat, but so the tube and tire liner wouldn't bulge through, and I could ride the bike home. It is just hard to ride that way.

Since no one else has this type of failure, I'm thinking of what could be different. Maybe it is the anti-puncture tire liners I use wearing the cord from the inside by rubbing friction. They are are lot tougher than rubber tube.

Like another reviewer mentioned, each tire came in its own box. In my case at least, the boxes were a little too small.

During mounting I noticed a few spots where the side wall had an inconsistent thickness. I inspected the other and found the same thing, assuming this was normal I mounted them and inflated. Everything went ok with the first one, the bead seated nicely and I set it aside. While mounting the second I heard a loud pop, the 1st one had busted right through the sidewall. I continued with the second. After inflating to 70psi (I was too afraid to go to the recommended 90) I saw waves forming in the sidewall.

I would not recommend these tires at all, it seems the quality control leaves something to be desired.

I put these tires on an old singlespeed conversion and they look great. The wheels were originally mounted with 26 1 1/4 knobby tires. These are slightly thinner and more appropriate for mild road use. I ride my bike about 10 miles a week on clean, smooth roads.

The gum walls look very retro and unusual. They definitely improved the look of my bike enormously.

The tread is pretty mild and they roll easily on paved roads. I haven't had any trouble with the occasional small puddle or patch of dirt and leaves.

I would not use these in an area where glass, thorns, or potholes are an issue. These don't look like they could handle serious riding and would most likely pop a tube if they were ridden in hard situations. Don't expect to go jumping off sweet ramps with these.

They installed very easily and I think I'll get several hundred miles out of them. I recommend these to someone looking for a cheap way to get a bike rolling for mild to moderate use. If you are a serious rider or ride in adverse conditions, spend a little extra and get a decent brand name tire.

My 2 1/2 year old little girl got one of these for Christmas. She is off like a rocket, which she loves. She gets tired quickly, but as she gets better at it and gets older it will be perfect. Her 4 1/2 year old brother has a more advanced model but she does fairly well at keeping up. The rubber wheels make this a nice, quiet ride so we don't disturb the neighbors at 8am on a Saturday morning when we set off to the playground... Seems good quality and very stable. I still would recommend a helmet be worn though just in case.

Addition to the above: I initially rated this scooter higher but after months of having it, my daughter can't ride it well. The double wheels are at the back and she keeps hitting them with her foot. The more expensive Kick scooter that we bought for my son is preferable to this one. It has the double wheels at the front and seems more stable when in motion.

I bought this scooter for my daughter to get used to the way the scooter worked (as a concept). In that regard, it is great. However, the 2 wheel design in the back makes it scrape her little ankles. The screw heads stick out (they are not flush with the wheels) and having the wheels themselves wider than the base makes it hard to really get going. All in all, it was great for what I bought it for. But pricey for that use. She used it maybe 5 times, now we have to upgrade. She would have taken more spills if I hadn't bought it, but she got scraped up ankles anyway, so really I am just out a good chunk of change!

So my 3 year old had to have a scooter. I saw razor, and pink, and I ordered it. Had I looked closely at the picture I would have seen this giant red flag.

Look at the capped castle style nut on the center of the rear wheels. If your kid pushes this scooter down the street and back, and does 100 little pushes she is eventually going to get her foot to close to that rear wheel. And when she does, that rounded off steel nut is going to rake across her ankle causing enough pain to buckle the leg.

I let my little girl ride this twice, both times she hit that nut 2-3 times and it just killed me to watch it. I work with product design daily, and I am simply stunned I missed this obvious flaw that comes along with this design. I returned this thing immediately, doubled my budget and got something with a much better build quality packaged around a well thought out design: The Mini Micro scooter.

Seriously consider a single rear wheeled scooter.

I bought this for my 4 year old granddaughter's birthday. She has been wanting a scooter. It is much smaller than I thought and not that sturdy. She loves it riding it, so I couldn't return it, but I wouldn't recommend it. It is cute bright colorful, which is why I gave it 2 stars but in reality if you have an average size toddler this is not the scooter for you. My granddaughter is small for her age yet this is still small.... I guess we get what we pay for.

Item arrived with rust on tailgate and a damaged spacer. After communicating with a Kolpin rep for several days, a replacement tailgate & new spacers were sent. Thank you Jim at Kolpin!

Assembly is straightforward and is made easier by the fact an allan wrench is inlcuded.

Correct alignment of the tailgate latch assembly is crucial as the pins have to slide into a small hole, after passing through a bracket on each side of the frame. This can be made easier with a ratchet tie down strap which is used to pull the frame together as it can be somewhat difficult to do this with just the allen wrench.

Finally, flat washers should be used (not included) with the 4 u-bolts as the strap slot is rather large.

The extruded metal basket appears sturdy, but only time will confirm that.

As to the mounting process on ATV's, it was relativly easy on my King Quad, but will no doubt vary depending on model. I am able to remove the seat very easily, which some racks do not allow, thanks to the large cutout.

Product arrived and was rusted. One of the pins was broken and I was told that they were sending me another pin and cable we shall see. Had to repaint the unit with black spray paint due to all the rust. None of the mounting hardware fits the unit much less your specific ATV. Don't know why they send it maybe because it makes the customer feel like they are getting something. You will need to run to Home Depot and pick up what you need to mount the unit. I picked up several stainless steel bands to strap the posts to the ATV frame. It works well and is strong enough to carry the payload. The tail gate would not line up with the pins and I had to torque the unit to get the pin to jam into place. I would not have purchased this unit if I knew all the hassle. Also not sure if the dropping tail gate is worth it. Just pick the bucket (or stuff you carry) up another 7" and eliminate the pins and cables that can get hung up on branches when riding.

It is classic..... looks like cheap Chinese made stuff. If I had to make another purchase, I would buy a simple basket that attached directly on the rack as opposed to hanging off the back. The simple basket weighs less and will not get in your way for tail riding.

Very sturdy construction--can tell it's going to last many, many years. Holds a lot of stuff, and the rear drop rack makes it easier to load. Plenty of areas to tie down items if needed. Like everyone else, we pitched the anchor bolts and used zip ties. Picked this one specifically because 1) it is made by Kolpin and have had very good luck with their products, and 2) said it fits over the vertical section of rack on the back of my 4-wheeler--and it did beautifully. Was a little disappointed that one of the drilled holes for the bolts did not line up with the hole on the other side of the tube, so had to drill that out myself.

Love the tailgate part of the rack. The rack allowed me to take my little golden retriever with me on an overnight camp out. Used the rack/tailgate as my cooking table and bar in camp. Only thing is that I had to modify my exhaust pipe because it was a little close to the rack where I also had my extra fuel pack stashed.
