Cheap Park Chain Hand Tool

Park Chain Hand Tool

This Park Tools CT-3.2 is the 2012 update to the classic CT-3 that is found in thousands of bike shops across the world. What makes this chain breaker a great buy is the adjustable shelf that slides to accommodate everything from single speed chains to eleven speed Dura Ace chains. However, this tool will not peen Campagnolo 11 speed chains (it will break them though for use with a Master Link). I am a bit of a collector for vintage bike tools and really prefer this tool over the following:

Shimano TL-CN32 Pro This is the 'master' chain tool from Shimano with the rosewood handles and $155 price tag. This tool is good but it will not break 11 speed chains (it needs to be updated). While I enjoy this tool, its handle is a bit large and harder to grasp than CT-3.2

Campagnolo 11 Speed Chain Tool No flaws, and works great (even for all Shimano and SRAM chains) if you can afford its $300 price tag. This is the only tool I am mentioning here that I dont own but I will ask Bill Gates how his is working out for him, next time we meet.

Park Tools CT-4.3 This is the 'master' chain tool from Park Tool which sells for about $49. Even though this is the deluxe model from Park, I actually prefer the adjustable chain plate of the CT-3.2. If the chain is larger (say, a seven speed chain), the 4.3 holds it well in its chamber, but if the chain is 11 speed, then it does not hold it as well. I also find that the vinyl coating of the 3.2 to be easier to grasp and turn than the plastic enlarged handles of the 4.2. The one upside it holds over the CT-3.2 is that it will break and peen Campagnolo 11 speed chains.

Pedros Pro Chain Tool 2.0 Really enjoyed this $45 tool when I first owned it, but the pins have a nasty habit of bending. The upper handles also are weak on mine and are wearing away.

So far, after hundreds of chain repairs with the CT 3.2 or its older brother, the CT-3, no broken chain tool pins. The size and weight of the CT-3.2 also mean that it can easily fit in a Camelback or repair pouch. A final added bonus is that except for the replaceable chain pin, the rest of this model is actually manufactured by Park in Minnesota. For these reasons, the CT-3.2 is my daily go to chain breaker or maker.

This is my first chain tool, but I think I picked a good one. This thing is beefy, and easily removed a rusted chain from a mountain bike I'm rehabbing.

Unlike earlier Park chain tools, this model (3.2) does not have a feature for loosening the link after the pin is pressed in, which is always required. Park suggests in their online help that you can loosen a tight link by bending the chain a bit. I have never been able to make that work. Unfortunately, I would consider this model useless for installing a chain due to the lack of a tight link repair feature.

Take it out of the box, you'll be confident it's a great product. It feels good in the hands the way a tool should. That is, until you try to use it. Went to break a chain with it, within two turns of the handle the pin bent and broke off.

Nice design for a front light. Can mount pretty much anywhere. And for ~ $10 it's much brighter / more visible than most clip on single LED types (e.g. Knog)

If you are looking for a light just to ensure you are seen , this is a good one. It doesn't give off enough to see the road in front of you, but I don't think it was intended for that. I like the three modes so you can have it steady, flashing, or quick flashing. It was easy to put on . I have the same one in red for the back of my seat.

This is a great light. It is very visible from far. Has three modes constant, very quick flashes and slower flashes. Cars can see you well.

It mounted very securely, and easily, to my bike.

I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

I was looking for a light that would attach to my bike's head tube because my handle bars are not round. I mounted this light vertically and was expecting to have to use tie wraps to secure it. But I was pleasantly surprised when the supplied adjustable strap fit around my head tube. What a great use for the otherwise empty space. I had to break out the directions to figure out that you have to hold the on/off button down for a few seconds to turn it on and off, but switching between the 3 modes (steady, flash, random flash) occurs immediately after each button push once the light is turned on. Came with 2 AAA batteries too. Great light for being seen.

This trike is a must for 2 year olds. It is durable yet light weight if I have to move it. The tires are real rubber, not cheap plastic, so the traction is great. My son tools around the house on this trike on my hard wood floors without a problem, and I dont have to worry that he is scratching the floors because of the real rubber tires. My son can actually reach the petals, not like some out there. The sound features are awesome!~Not like some annoying of the sounds and music that some bikes or big wheels have. Real directionals that work and no annoying horn to beep. I love this trike and have recommended this to everyone I know who has children. I think the price is great also!

We read the reviews on Amazon and ordered this, and we're happy. There are several good points:

1. It looks like a real moped. Our 21 month old loves seeing motor bikes and mopeds, and is enchanted with having his own.

2. The style is good. It has good design the curves and styling has some quality to it. They have obviously thought about the aesthetics of this toy.

3. Its light. Our 21 month old can carry it around himself (for short distances).

4. Its easy to put together.

Overall, this is a case where the good reviews of this product have really come true for us, so far.

The toy is enjoyed by my three year old grandson. I also am writing to correct the review previously given as it was inadvertently given a low rating when it should have been excellent for service.

This stool is quality made. The four leg design is much more stable than 3 legged stools, and the materials of construction are good, including soft but supportive foam seat. The seat swivels, and the foot rest ring makes sitting in this stool very comfortable.

The stool looks great in my garage, where I do alot of work on my mountain bike.
