The KMC Z50 is a fair-quality, 7.3mm wide chain for use on bikes that use sixor seven-sprocket cassettes or freewheels. According to the KMC specifications, the Z50 chain is too wide to work on eight sprockets or more. Also this chain has 116 links which should be long enough for most chainstay lengths and front\rear sprocket combinations on older bikes.

This is not a premium chain, but I don't believe KMC or SRAM make any other 7.3mm wide, 116 link chains for six or seven sprockets. (I am not familiar with the possible Shimano options for this, and their website is not helpful.)

So if you are doing hard riding with many shifts under load, you should check this Z50 chain after a while for stretch, to avoid sprocket and chainring wear. But since this chain is inexpensive, you can obviously buy spares to have on hand.

There are 7.1mm width chains by KMC and SRAM (designed for seven or eight sprockets) that may be be better quality, and these may also work on six sprockets. However, some of these narrower chains have 114 links or less. They may be an inch (2 links) too short for the 116 link chain length needed for a touring bike or old mountain bike with a long chainstay length (greater than 17.5") and a large top chainring and rear sprocket. To check this, you can count the number of links on your current chain. Or use one of the on-line bike chain length calculators that will tell you the needed chain length based on your chainstay length and the size of your largest front chainring and rear sproket.

Unlike the SRAM chains, the Z50 does not come with a master link. You should buy the correct size KMC brand "Missing Link" (master link) for a 7.3mm chain width. These links come in different widths for the various KMC chain widths. The Park brand master link pliers make disassembling the master link easier than doing it by hand, especially if the chain is dirty.

Using a master link to install or remove this chain is the appropriate way of installing and removing the chain rather than just using a screw-type chain tool to push a rivet in or out. Even though this chain has thicker side plates than the narrow chains made for more sprockets, pushing a rivet in and out still weakens the chain somewhat at this point. The master link also makes chain removal for cleaning easier.

I've used these chains for recumbent construction for 18 months now and they hold up well. There is 12 feet of chain on my TriCruiser recumbents and strength with affordability is very important.

Years ago I had a gold colored Shimano chain that seemed to spin with smoother and with a bit less resistance, but this chain is very affordable, $10 to $20 dollars. It works like a charm, shifts perfectly, and holds up well. I have had my chain a few years, do most of my riding on a Blackburn trackstand and then do a 15 or 20 mile ride on the weekends.The Z chain is like a Toyota, reliable as the day is long.

Affordable, well-built chain. Bought four so far to equip own and kids' bicycles, all work fine. Long enough to fit extra-large frame, only four links had to come out.

Cheap Steel Frame Bicycle Cargo Trailer Cart Carrier Yellow and Black

We were moving to an area where we could be car light so I bought this to use when shopping for hardware and plants. When our move was postponed the trailer sat in the box unused. I loaned it to another cyclist who is also a bicycle mechanic. He loaded up his tools, bike maintenance stand, table, stool and supplies till the trailer is over-flowing. We're positive his load is over the weight limit stated for the product, yet the trailer shows no signs of stress. No wheel bow, no bed sag, no squeaking or straining sounds at all. He bought it from me and uses it to make "trail calls"

I like this one better than the other cargo trailer of similar looks, because this one has the canvas on the sides like a Burley Nomad so it covers the steel bed thoroughly while the other brand is like a canvas bag sitting on top of, but not covering the steel bed.

It has a better fitting cover than the other brand and the cover has a zippered access panel on top.

The wheels have real bearings that were properly packed. I guess some trailers don't have bearings?

It weighs less than stated

The one Con; all of the different brand of cargo trailers use steel for all metal parts and a not so long lasting paint treatment. Keep it dry and touch up the paint often to keep rust at bay.

When we finally do move, I'll order another one.

I am really impressed with this bike trailer. I looked at similar trailers at my local bike shop. The others were not terribly impressive, and cost 2 to 10 times as much as this one even when you include shipping. The trailer arrived in a box that would fit in the trunk of any small car. The trailer is nearly entirely assembled. All you have to do is slide the wheels (with real cartridge bearings) onto short axle bars and install clips to hold them in place. The axles then slide into the trailer frame with a quick disconnect. The sides and tongue fold out and connect with quick release pins. So what all those quick release connections means is, it folds down in seconds and can fit back in a car trunk. I have a mountain bike with disc brakes. I was concerned that the hitch mount might not fit as it goes on the left rear axle where most bikes to not have anything already there. The hitch pin went on the bike in seconds, and fit with no problem. The hitch pin is left in place on the bike even when riding without the trailer, and is small and unobtrusive. The trailer hooks to the bike pin with another quick release, so taking the trailer on/off the bike is effortless. The design of the trailer tongue is ingenious and twist and bends in many directions allowing effortless pulling. My primary purpose for buying the trailer was for LSU tailgating. I have a friend with an RV spot on campus for tailgating. But there is never any parking for extra cars. I can park downtown, load the trailer with chairs, a full cooler, food, and other assorted items and ride the levy bike trail to campus. We have to ride up/down hills, over terrible roads, hop curbs, across grass, through gravel lots, while dodging people and traffic. The trailer takes all that loaded with no issues. Shipping time said 7-10 days. I got it in 2 days. I couldn't be happier. Stop looking at the rest and buy this.

bought mainly because the price was significantly lower than other brands. It came pre-assembled with the exception of the wheels. The only instructions are for the wheel axle assemble and a picture of how to attach to the rear of bike. First trip out so far: tracks well and follows smoothly, took on 2 mile trip to grocery store for a full week of supplies.

A word of caution, after inflating one of the tires I noticed a "bubble", not sure how it happened or who is at fault, but I will have to replace the tube and double check the tire itself for any damage to the wall.

This product is just what I needed to do what I had to do and use my bike to work for me. It helps to go to the store and even the laundry mat and it saves on gas. It pulls good behind the bike and even helps out on the exerise part also which is great.
