Update: July 7 2013I am downgrading my rating to about 1.5 stars. Some company should reissue old-style WINGNUTS that do the same job, have no moving parts, cost about $2-3 each, and are simply a replacement for each axle nut. This problem was solved in 1920 and forgotten with QR hubs for racing.
Original review: These look like the perfect product, but they are HEAVY. Considering that they replace the need to carry a wrench, they are nice. But.. a small wrench weighs almost nothing. These feel like 10 lbs in the packagevery disappointing. I put them on my Shimano Nexus 8 speed bike (rear)but it is such a pain to change a flatone still needs several tools for thatthese release devices seem pointless now. With a 1 or 3 speed these might be a perfect fit. As for my Nexus 8 speed-DON'T. Get a quality 3 speedyou will be happier if you have a flat.

Converted my son's bike with solid axles to quick release easily. Product works as advertised. I recommend this product to anyone who wants to convert their solid axle bike and does not want to spend the money on a new set of wheels.
Best Deals for Axle Release Classic Quick Release Adapter
Put the Pro version on a vintage ten-speed. The rear wheel was thrown out of true, 1.5 miles from home, and was rubbing against the chain stay. Since I do not yet have a tool kit on the bike, I was able to loosen and reposition the rear wheel in the dropouts such that I was able to make the journey home. Considering I had planned on cycling at least 15 miles (one way) these release adapters saved me a long walk home. They are designed such that if one side comes loose the wheel is still held securely by the other QR adapter.
