I replaced my old front derailleur on my Next Wal-Mart brand mountain bike. Now my bike shifts great. Smooth, immediate, and quiet. Perfect upgrade at a great price for all those department store name brands that have cheap parts . I matched up this product along with the Shimano ST-EF50 Acera EZ Fire Plus 7 Speed Shift and Brake Lever combo with V Brake and the Shimano Tourney RD-TX71 Rear Derailleur w hanger.

I purchased a Shimano Altus FD-M311 Front Derailleur so I could use a mountain crankset on my road bike, and the Altus was really cheap, but great quality, and the thing shifts very easy and smooth. The Altus was very easy to install and set up and it worked without flaw. I could of spent a lot more, but why, the thing works great, what a great improvement. It's as functional as the Sora front derailleur I replaced, so if your wanting a very functional front derailleur that won't kill your budget, I'd highly recommend the Altus.

This seems to be a great low end product. I'm not a professional bike racer or great off trail rider so why spend like one. I've been rolling with it for a few weeks now, shift good handle the stress I put on it So what more could I want?
