Otherwise, you won't. You'll just notice it's not flimsy, and doesn't tear itself open at the slightest scuff.
Easy to install. Valve is well machined.
The stem, as others have noted, is not as heavily attached as you might think. Basically, it's a patch applied to the inside, and another to the outside. The rubber is thin around the neck.
If you pull hard (or you get tube creep in the wheel, then this could be damaged.
Also, if your rims have sharp openings, then you're likely to cut through the stem rubber.
But really, what you should do is file off any sharp bits on the rims before replacing your tube. The stem is not meant to resist being cut off by sharpened steel. I found this is why my old tube failed. A little work with a medium file, and verify with my finger that there are no sharp edges. Should be great.

They seemed to be bigger than the size stated. Because they are extremely thick, I had to adjust then ALOT!!!! After the bumps were finally out I went for a ride and pulled over. Checked my back tire and I hear air coming out! The back inner tube was flat... Didn't know why, I had bought both puncture resistant inner tubes and tires... Horrible product. The air went out so fast, i'm almost sure that there was a huge hole. Wasn't package very well sure they probably came like that... do not recommend. I wish I could get my money back but I don't want to deal with it. Do not buy..Honest reviews on Avenir Thorn-Resistant Schrader Valve Tube
Great product, came early and installed without issue. Just beware thorn resistant means thicker rubber by design, it's not a problem. Would strongly recommend this for kids bikes if you live in Florida (sandspurs are killer on tubes)Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Avenir Thorn-Resistant Schrader Valve Tube
I bought this for my vintage Raleigh three speed and it is thick rubber but it fit easily onto the rim. It was actually easier to handle since it was so sturdy unlike a normal, flimsy tube.It was heavier than a normal tube of course, but if the thick rubber should keep the punctures few and far between.
