I bought a set of these for my hybrid bike. I ride it on the paved river bike paths in Los Angeles/OC. 80%-90% of these surfaces are nice and smooth, but the other 10%-20% has done these tires in after 500km of riding. The tires feel great, they are fast and velvety...During my 50KM Saturday bike ride, while resting for the return leg I was looking my tires over...they have several lacerations all over them, that didn't inspire much confidence for the return leg of my trip. The tires surfaces aren't worn, but they definitely show the signs of use...checks from rocks and expansion joints and what not. I really like the way the tires feel...but I'm not sure I want to put them on again...The dilemma is that a more urban oriented tire would be heavier, and probably feel clunkly...like a 15 passenger van, instead of a sports car (like the Dynamic Sports).Best Deals for Michelin Dynamic Sport Tire
These tires are very interesting. The amazon photo shows some kind of treat, but they came as slicks. I got the black/black ones and I thought that the lack of tread would affect their road handling on wet pavement but that was not the case. After about 1500 miles on these tires I changed them for gatorskins there was nothing wrong with them, but I needed to install them on my GF's bike.Comparing these to gatorskins is not fair for either tire. I actually like the Michelins more they are a much faster tire and they held up very well against the terrible roads we have in MN. I had only one flat last season and that was from a gnarly puncture that left a small bolt sticking out of my rear tire. All that was required was to replace the tube and I did several hundred miles of riding after that with no problems. The only drawback is that they do look a little used by the end of the season they still have a good deal of rubber left, but its just a visual thing.
Installing these is very normal for road tires a herculean effort is not required. Just do it right. Also replace your rim-tape when installing new tires as I would expect most of the complaints of flats are from that (in general). Wet traction was not ideal, I have a few rear skids when biking in the rain, but be sensible which tires are good for wet?
They are at a very good price compared to the competition.
