Don't buy this shifter set and expect it to work if you have a Shimano rear derailleur beause it wont. It's designed for a Sram rear derailleur which has a different ratio than the Shimano unit.The front shifter will work fine with a Shimano front derailleur. It's the rear shifter that won't work. The proper shift set for Shimano derailleurs is Sram MRX Comp. I solved my problem by purchasing a MRX Comp rear shifter from the local bike store. Once the proper parts were installed, the shifters worked great.Much better then what I had on the bike originally.

i got these as replacements to my old grip shifters and good thing i did. installation was easy, specially because the cables came already attached to the shifters. it also came with rubber grips which made my bike look sort of newer again.

after a few adjustments to the derailleurs i was good to go. shifts are quick and I'm never in the wrong gear anymore.

The Shifters are built sturdy and replaced my old worn out shifters in only a few min. Crisp, concise shifts every time now. These are being used daily on my Cycle Genius recumbent bike. I ride abt 10 miles a day and feel very confident with my new SRAM shifters. You can spend a lot more for shifters, but you won't get better results for the average rider.

I used these shifters to update the drivetrain on my bicycle and they work well. They seem durable. I have had some slight trouble adjusting the front derailleur to my satisfaction, but I'm hardly an experienced mechanic and I've gotten it worked out for the most part. Note that these are designed to work with a specific type of SRAM derailleur with a 1:1 shift ratio. Make sure you have the right drivetrain if you are going to order these.

You bolt this wrench in and then start turning. The nut holds it in so it doesn't slip. The tool comes with directions and works well. Use it without the axle nut installed and it won't work. It is that simple.

Teeth bent before the gear cassette would come off. The metal seems soft for the intended purpose. Good fit for the Suntour free wheel.

If you work on old bikes, you'll need a few versions of these although it's getting to the point where the old wheels aren't worth saving, sadly. Remember to use an extra-long QR to hold this on as if it slips you'll muck things up. If the freewheel is really tight, it's best to clamp this in a vice and use the entire wheel for leverage. Lefty loosen!

After the first 25 mile ride, the tube went flat. It was find for the entire ride, but the next morning it was flat. The shaft of the stem is not threaded like other presta valves (It is quite long though) I have been riding and working on bikes for 30 years and I made sure the tubes were in strait, and the valve stem was perpendicular to the rim, and I filled them to 65psi. But, right at the base of the valve stem it broke. I can't even patch it now. I hope the other one I purchased doesn't have the same problem. The tube is quite thick, and there are no other holes in the tube. Maybe I just got a bad tube, as the one in the other tire is still holding up. I will definitely make sure that valve stems are threaded on future presta tube purchases. That way I can cinch them down to the rim.

This tube is very thorn resistive. Where I ride there are a lot of goathead thornes that can eat up a standard tube. Been riding on this for a year now and still going.
