This scooter is really adorable, but not as practical as I would like. The 3 wheel scooter design seems like it would be more stable, but since 2 wheels are in the back it is actually more difficult for kids to ride. My daughter kept crashing this scooter, but was doing fine on my son's radio flyer scooter. I watched her ride both & realized it was because the radio flyer has 2 wheels in front & 1 in back, while this scooter has 1 wheel in front & 2 in back. She had to reach her foot out around the back wheels to be able to push this scooter and as a result kept getting it off balance & crashing. She is too big for a radio flyer scooter, so we got her a 2 wheel Razor Sweat Pea & she is doing great with it. My advice is to pass on this one even though it is adorable. For little ones I would get a scooter with 2 wheels in the front like the radio flyer & for older kids get a 2 wheel scooter.

I bought this for my 4yr old's birthday and it was a hit. She's been riding around in it constantly and can't wait for warmer weather so she can take it to the park. I like how the base is wider than other scooters so it is easy for both her feet to get on it easily and for better balance. The material is very good quality and seems very durable. I think she will be ridign around on it for quite some time...at least until she outgrows it. The Huffy Disney Princess Scooter is a steelframed scooter designed to help youngsters get used to the scooter concept before they move on to the twowheeled variety. Putting everything together isn't too difficult, but the process would be much easier if the instructions were clearer. The instructions don't walk you through the assembly process step by step. Instead, they show you a diagram with the different parts pulled apart from the scooter so that consumers can see what goes on first, second, third, etc. This eventually works, but it would have been much better if the instructions were stepbystep and if the images were larger.
As for the product itself, it offers a large footplate with a noslip design and it has a very cute appearance that young girls will love. I like the skateboardsize footplate and the sturdy, steel frame. The third wheel is nice because it keeps the scooter steady while kids learn how to ride and maneuver. Parents don't need to worry so much that their little one will fall offthe third wheel helps keep the scooter upright while in use.
The Huffy Disney Princess Scooter has adjustable handlebars, but adjusting the height takes a little bit of work and it is possible that some of the other parts will fall off as you make your adjustment. This is another area where the scooter deserves a small amount of criticism. One example is the flimsy plastic piece that acts as a guard and is placed over the handlebaradjustment bolt. It doesn't lock into place very well and is easily moved around. Then, there is the adjustment bolt itself. It is somewhat annoying to work with because there is almost no clearance space. The nut and washer that go on the end leave almost no space to thread and tighten the bolt.
The Huffy Disney Princess Scooter is a cute, fun scooter that offers safety while preparing youngsters for the day when they decide to graduate to the twowheeled variety. It isn't perfect, for the reasons stated above, but it does have many good qualities and my little girl loves it. These positive qualities are reason enough to consider making this purchase for your preschool age child.

We ordered this as a Christmas gift for our 4 year old, and as the holiday was approaching, i kept reminding my husband to put it together, and not wait till the last minute (just in case)....well, naturally on Christmas eve, he was putting it together, and sure enough, a nut was missing from the box :( doh! Thankfully, he had one in the garage to fit it, as this was a gift from the "big guy" and needed to be under the tree by morning. I know things like this happen, and it turned out to be no big deal...just a heads up to those of you that might wait till the last minute to put it together :)That aside, it is a wonderful little scooter, cute colors, cute accessories...the tassels and the little pouch (for her treasures) really make the scooter special! i like the wider base for her feet, with the "training" wheel set up for beginners. We live in the mountains, and there are no sidewalks, so we take it to town with us often, and she rides it at Grandmas house (large rooms with wooden floors) and she loves it!
To the woman that said her daughter broke her femur riding this...i am sad to hear this, but curious as to how fast she was going to break a femur bone on this little scooter? Unless you are going down a steep sloped hill, i dont see how you could pick up enough speed on this little gem to do such damage. Never-the-less, our daughter wears long pants and a helmet to be safe...and she Loves it! I think she will get a few good years out of this before graduating up to the 2-wheel version, and im glad we purchased it!
