I bought a pretty nice hybrid bike for my son (Diamnondback Trace sport). It had Presta valves and one of his idiot friends let all of the air out. When pumping it back up I didn't properly seal the tire and there was a bulge between the rim and tire and the inner tube blew. So I bought this tube with a Schrader valve, drilling out the rim for the larger diameter valve. I went for a 6 mile bike ride and noticed the tire looked almost flat. I had no choice but to ride it another 6 miles back to the car with this 'almost flat' looking tire. pumped up the tire with my car start booster box and it's just fine, even after riding 12 miles with a really low tire. I'm guessing the green slime inner tube allowed me to make the trip in this condition. i plan on buying another one for the front tire even though it doesn't actually need a tube, I'd rather be safe than sorry :-)

This is good to use on a hybrid or commuter bike where reliability is more important than performance. You can feel that this tube is heavier, but it really doesn't slow you down that much. If it saves you from having to patch a tube on the way home from work then it's probably worth it in my opinion.

I haven't punctured the item yet but it is holding air well. First ride out on factory tubes: piece of glass. Popped this in and is holding up since purchase.

When the tubes that came on my Schwinn bicycle finally gave out after a year of daily use (Performance Bicycle doesn't use cheap), I had them replaced at a local place, and those tubes crapped out after about a month. I decided I'd replace them myself, so I couldn't complain about lazy work and cheap materials, and I chose these for the replacement. It's now been almost six months, and I haven't had a single issue, even with a few accidental run-ins with gravel or glass. Well worth the money.
