This carrier is very adjustable and sturdy. It is constructed of steel, with multiple locations for pins and bolts to accommodate a variety of different sized motorcycles. It works very well as designed, but could be better engineered if it was made so tightening the bolts didn't begin to crush the steel tubing.
Honest reviews on Masterbuilt HMXCR HITCH-HAUL Steel Motorcycle Carrier
I used this on a 2,000 mile trip with a KLR650 on the back of a 2005 Tacoma. Getting the bike loaded deformed the metal a little bit so after the first use I put a block under the end to support it while loading and unloading. For the price it did a fair job considering other carriers can get up to $500 and more. I'm sure with a lighter bike it would do much better. For larger bikes you might find it blocks the taillights so consider getting some magnetic or strap on taillights with it (typically used when towing another vehicle).Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Masterbuilt HMXCR HITCH-HAUL Steel Motorcycle Carrier
When I was shipped the box, it was obvious that it had been opened. Some of the banding had been cut as if to try them out. The box was taped back in such a manner that pieces could fall out. I looked for the bolts to put it together to no avail. (Gone). Then I opened the manual and read,"For off-road use only". Well, when I bought the hauler there was nothing said about "off road use only" I have a motorcycle and I wanted to carry it on the back of my motorhome. This is not at all what I expected.
