This stroller is advertised to only fit children smaller than 38" tall. My daughter is approaching that height, but I want to start walking/jogging 5k races more frequently, so I bought it. I ordered it last Sunday, it was delivered yesterday, I assembled it last night with the help of my husband, and I walked/jogged with it this morning in a 5k.

Assembly: It took us an hour to assemble it. First, we couldn't find the instruction manual in the box, and I couldn't locate the manual on the web, even when I visited the manufacturer's website. After we had attached the wheels, I discovered that the manual had been placed in the storage area under the seat. We then used the manual to attach the parent tray to the stroller and to figure out how to adjust the bicycle-style brake for the front tire.

5-point harness system: My child barely fit in the standard harness system with just her pajamas on, so I attached the harness extension (that was shipped with the stroller). After about 10 minutes spent adjusting the harness system with the added extension, I was able to fit it to my child and adjust it to accommodate her wearing a coat and/or blanket.

During the race, my child was able to place her foot on the front tire, but she is approaching 38 inches in height. She still has room to grow before she is too tall to have the really long "canopy" cover her head. She's a little too tall to lie back in the seat (her head touches the safety netting that is at the back. However, when the seat is fully upright, she was still very comfortable in it. In fact, she has told me multiple times that she loves this stroller, and that she wants to go for more rides in it. It's been a long time since she has asked to ride in our Graco IPO or our Graco Alano (2007/2008) model.

The handle is adjustable, and is VERY comfortable (almost ergonomic) to hold. The stroller is stable (as long as the inflation of the tires is balanced), and was very comfortable to push either one-handed or two-handed.

The wheel is fixed, but I didn't have a problem lifting it to make the necessary turns and adjustments for curves on the path of the race.

Size: This stroller is not good for navigating crowds, especially where people may stop suddenly in front of you. I look forward to using it in future races, and around my neighborhood that doesn't have sidewalks. It provides a smooth ride for the child on pavement, concrete, and on grass/dirt.

The other two reviews for this I find very interesting. First of all this stroller is the lightest on the market so I'm not sure how it felt so "heavy" to the other buyer. Second of all this was the easiest baby gear product to put together we have bought. There were only a few pieces to put together and it took me a total of 15 minutes alone with one screw driver while chasing after our eight month old daughter who just started crawling. The fixed wheel may not be maneuverable at slow speeds but is recommended for serious runners. My husband who is a Marine loves running with it and loves the adjustable handle bar. We take it off road and serious running and it is perfect for both. There are higher quality jogging strollers on the market but this is the lightest and the only one with an adjustable handlebar and handbrake.

This is a great jogging stroller for serious runners and joggers alike that is easy to use and great quality for a great value. Would recommend to anyone who does more than the average walking.

Best Deals for Schwinn Arrow Fixed Wheel Jogger

Pros:

*cup holders & little storage box on top

*This is one of the lightest fixed wheel joggers on the market

*Shocks on the wheels for a smooth ride

*easy enough to collapse & store in the trunk

*Nuts and bolts at stress points! My last jogger had been recalled due to stress points being connected with rivets instead of nuts& bolts.

*The tacky green color is really nice for visibility.

*My little one finds it very comfortable.

Cons:

*The "spoiler" on the front wheel should really be longer. I worry my kid could catch her feet in the front wheel and injure herself. If your kid is older or taller, make sure they're wearing shoes. You'll likely have to remind your kid about 600 times the first few days to keep their feet off of the wheel.

*The speaker is a joke. It totally stinks & I can barely hear it.

*The basket under the stroller is not the best design. It can't hold much. It is difficult to get larger items (like a pool towel or my kid's swim vest) in & out of there.

*It is a pain to pop off the front tire with the way the brakes are designed. Never had this problem with my old jogger.

*The screw that holds up the visor became stripped within a few weeks because my kid kept tugging on the visor. I was able to find another screw and fix it myself, but I was a bit disappointed the visor wasn't attached too securely.

*The front tire can be finicky about going on perfectly straight. It took several tries to find the sweet spot where the wheel fit flush so the tire wouldn't have a slight wobble to it.

Conclusion:

If you walk more than the average person, and/or you jog, hike, etc and you're focused on function over form, this is a great jogger. I've been very pleased over the past few months with how it's been handling 2-5 miles of walks a day with a ~30lb toddler. Ignore anything you may read about "difficult to maneuver," or it being "too heavy." If you're going to use a jogger for its intended purpose (hiking, trail jogs, gravel roads, etc) you WANT it to be a bit heavy and ever-so-slightly difficult to maneuver. Comparing a jogging stroller to a regular stroller is like comparing apples and steak. Considering the big box baby stores I went to carried fixed wheel joggers in the $300-650 range, this one is a steal. I wasn't able to find a sturdy, quality fixed wheel jogger anywhere else for under $300.

Honest reviews on Schwinn Arrow Fixed Wheel Jogger

First of all, I very rarely take the time to write a product review, but I felt compelled to do so in this case. There are so many factors when looking at jogging strollers to purchase and if you're like me, you really didn't know exactly what you wanted/needed before purchasing. I can tell you first hand that this stroller is a WONDERFUL product and I'd purchase it again in a heartbeat. I'm not the type of person who has to have "the best", so I really value the fact that this jogging stroller is a quality product for a reasonable price. To put it simply, my priorities in a jogging stroller were to have something I could take my daughter in that allowed us to have some fun outside together and give mommy a break. I can't imagine why someone would spend what some of the other jogging strollers cost ($500+) when one like this is on the market. Fact is, my daughter only tolerates runs up to 4 miles or so anyway, so having a stoller that would go cross country isn't a huge priority. That said, I think this stroller would do fine with any distance you threw at it. The only negative I'll mention is that the speaker is a bit small and has poor sound quality, but c'mon. I plan to replace it with a better one (maybe a bluetooth) once my daughter understands what types of music she really likes (she's just 6 months old now).

Great first (and possibly lifetime) jogging stroller.

I bought this jogger because it looked similar to the Instep jogger I already had. I had done some research and this jogger seemed to be what I was looking for. Well, it was not. Shipping was really fast and it was easy to put together but I was not impressed with the quality of the jogger. The frame rattled, not the mention the cup holder without anything even in it. It also had a compartment in between the cup holders that is small, really small. It held a package of fruit snacks, that was it.

The grip was a hard rubber, which for me, did not work because as soon I started to sweat, I couldn't grip the stroller.

For any amount of running, I would not recommend this stroller.
